Oi! (Update blog)
It’s been a while, I think, since my last scribbling, writing, screaming into an empty space…since I’ve last written a blog entry. Anyhow… so what’s been going on? Okay…
Well, I had a graduation walk for an Associates degree a couple of weeks back…which made me feel like an asshole for walking for a half-degree. I mainly did it for the folks because they wanted to see it, otherwise, I wouldn’t have. The saddest story not told that day was the one about how my graduation cap read: “Made in El Salvador”, which, made me feel even worse.
Writing: I’m still chugging right along, still writing and writing. I’m still submitting pieces of mine to various presses and so far have gratefully collected two rejection letters!

I was outed in class
So, yeah, now that I've got your attention. It’s sort of a funny story, and I’m not offended by it; I was somehow outed in my sociology class a couple of days ago...

This is how it goes
...Health-wise: I’m still in a better place, a much better place than where I was in April after seeing that photograph of me in a newspaper interview. Seeing that photograph was part of a jolt that I needed to get me back into the world where I live and a little less time in the world where I exist. The other jolt I needed was a muse back in June, whom I’m thankful for. (And more recently a friend who moved back into town). I’ve lost 40lbs and 8 inches off of my waist since June, and am still going strong. It was a rut I was in since November of 2011 when my grandmother passed away. I’m grateful to be in a better place now. I’m getting back to the weight and shape I was before (before I gained the 45-50lbs), and plan to keep losing more by staying on track. It’s amazing how deep you can go into your mind and become so absorbed and so lost. I’m still sober and clean, although I almost relapsed back in June when I couldn’t score any painkillers. October 12th will be 1 year and 5 months clean and sober...

Mr. Harry Blight (New Release, FREE!)
Hello everyone! I finished up with Mr. Harry Blight sooner than I expected. I guess buckling down really pays off! Hah! Anyhow, my newest short story of 6,654 words is available on Amazon.com now! But it will be free from 9/15-9/19, as part of me continuing to offer my new titles for free for a short time as soon as they come out. I hope it’ll be enjoyed! It came about because a buddy, a fan, an e-friend of mine said she was looking forward to another story, so, viola! In keeping up with my ‘bizarre’ twisting short stories; following this story should be the release of Village 50, though I’m not sure yet as to when I want to release that one either. http://www.amazon.com/Mr-Harry-Blight...

September Update!
Hello everyone! I’m still here, I promise! I’ve been busy, busy, lately, and I realize that it has been a while since I’ve posted some type of an update. I’m just checking in to let interested parties know that I’m still writing and still hard at work at getting more stuff out there.
I’ve written another novel, but it’s still far from complete–remember, editing is writing. I’m almost done with another new novel based off of my homeless experience I took to write the story. My poetry collection, Jet Lag, is still in the works, and I’m hoping to have about 100-125 poems in the 6 x 9 format...
Mentally, I have been doing a lot better, far from how I had been feeling for such a long time. I’ve been getting out and exploring the world again, instead of staying inside all the time, trapped in my own world, writing. I’ve been eating better, getting back to the human thing, getting water and exercise, which is a plus because in just over two months I’ve lost 30lbs, although in part to that 13 day fast I did to help reset myself and to cleanse and detox. I’m in a...

Well, This Made My Day!
To my surprise, I received a thank you letter from the UNM Children’s Hospital for my Valentine’s Day donation. I really wasn’t expecting it, so it was a pleasant surprise! It sounds like it was well received and I’m glad to hear that. If you’re interested in my Valentine’s Day blog entry, you can click here: http://wp.me/p233cV-4s
On a side note, I’m still making more progress on Jet Lag and will be reading three poems from that collection on July 12, 2012 @ 7 PM. I’ll be one of four features reading. It’ll be at El Chante: Casa de Cultura 804 Park Ave. SW Albuquerque, NM (Southwest corner of Central and 8th). The place hosts and sells some amazing art work too, so if you do come, be sure and check that out and help support that local business and the local artists they promote, if you can.

Scribbles Update
I figured that I would announce this along with my sobriety birthday, but I thought perhaps it would have been far too long of a single blog entry; Scribbles is coming out, soon! I’m very excited about it, and like my other publications, I’m hoping that it will be well received. I just want to express further appreciation for my readers that I do have. I know that we are a tiny, tiny group, but I’m grateful for you.
I’ve reviewed one printing of the book and made the necessary corrections. I’m going to be receiving another copy to again review before I give it my thumbs up. The eBook of Scribbles is formatted and is waiting for distribution. Please stay tuned to find out when it’ll be out. Just like with ALL of my publications have been thus far, this one will also be offered as a FREE EBOOK on Amazon as well, but for a limited time! And I enjoy doing that, I really do, it helps spread it about, and I like doing it for my brand new titles when they first come out.
I was going to postpone the book for a month, but I’m about to start a couple “real” jobs and with summer school classes, I’m not sure how much time I’ll have to write. But no, I’m not accepting that because I will make time to write. But just as well, I figured I didn’t want to keep my lovely readers waiting. So, my beautiful people, I give you the cover of Scribbles and another sneak peek into it.

The Magical Place
Every morning it is the same routine; awakening from another type of dream, the uncomfortable mattress, the wood that squeaks, the almost unbearable early morning cheeps, the bloodstains that have paved my memory, laying down the guiding stream, the guardrails, the harrowing.
I want to blot out the eyes of the sun. I want no more visions, no more light; let’s subside into the dark. And there I will find the quietness, the serenity, the simplicity, the audacity, the intricacies, the heresies, the simple but much appreciated pleasantries that having no

One Year Sober
Hello everyone! Happy birthday to me! I think that’s what we say when we’re on the anniversary date of being sober? Today marks one year of my sobriety.
I wish I had more that I could say to you right now, but the only thing I am doing is sitting here, reflecting upon a year gone by. It hasn’t been an easy year, with everything that happened. I think about it often, my substances, and sometimes I still crave them, but I’ve found a new drug–writing.
Some people have asked me how I managed to quit, and I’ll tell you like I’ve told them; I had two choices—DO or DON’T. It’s as simple as that, really; though it may not seem that simple to my fellow addicts, it really is. You can’t tame the dragon, the dragon tames you. And while I rode the rollercoaster of substance addictions for a while, and went with its many ups and downs, I knew I had to get off of the ride.
I’m not going to come at you like silicone. I’m coming at you head-on. (Not the screaming roll-on headache medicine commercial). It f------ sucked! It still F------ SUCKS, at times. Everyday seems to be an adventure in this life, but I’m not thinking about drugs and alcohol nearly as much as I used to. It is getting easier. And there are times where it still kicks my ass and I just want to sleep all day, cry, or scream. There are times where I wish that I never quit and that I would have died already. There are still highs and lows, but the difference is in how I choose to face them, and not hide behind my substance(s).
