Praise for London, the Doggy and Me

It is with great pleasure that I report that my new short story, London, the Doggy and Me has already received three excellent reviews.

Here are some examples of what the reviewers have had to say so far...

"I have read everything that Rosen Trevithick has written and it still continues to amaze me about the breadth of her writing capabilities. It is that famous sarcastic, British wit that I could eat all day. Simply another winner from her."

- N. Blackburn (Amazon reviewer)

Proofreader Recommendation - Peter Van Der Merwe

Peter Van Der Merwe is a freelance copy editor currently based in Florence. He was recommended by my best friend and her sister, so I was very keen to get in touch with him.

I found Peter very approachable. We conversed by email and arranged for him to proofread my short story, Lipstick and Knickers. He is also available to talk to clients using Skype.

For those of you familiar with the short story, the original unedited copy has been available for four weeks and has sold over 8,000 copies...

I've sold 20,000 books this year!

Hooray! I've just been doing some paperwork and I noticed that my sales count is now over 20,000 for 2012 so far. This is certainly cause for celebration!

I am gobsmacked, to say the least. In the whole of 2011, I sold less than 300 books, so this has come as something of a shock. I keep catching myself jumping up and down on the spot, beating my fists to the rhythm of "Yes, yes, yes!"

However, knowing that there are 20,000 copies of my book floating around, is absolutely terrifying.

Proofreader Recommendation - Tony Bousfield

Another proofreader that a highly recommend is Tony Bousfield.

Tony Bousfield is a proofreader based in Cornwall. He has previously taken a variety of different jobs covering a wide range of different types of writing. In my case, he proofread a novel.

He is an exceptionally fast worker and was able to start work on my novel almost right away. His quote was extremely competitive.

I found Tony very easy to work with and he very patient during the initial stages, while I was trying to work out...

"A very short story which made a very big impact"

I'm over the moon about two excellent reviews of The Other Daughter, which have been posted today. The short story about a family's reaction to a missing child, made it to number three in today's "Movers and Shakers" chart on Amazon.

Here are a couple of quotes from the reviews:

"A very short story which made a very big impact, I actually found myself at one point holding my breath. Highly recommend, an excellent read." - Amanda "sac" (Top 500 reviewer).

"I love the ending and though ...

Proofreader Recommendation - Olivia Wood

Olivia Wood is a London-based freelance editor. She did the proofreading for the new edition of The Other Daughter and I highly recommend her services.

She's flexible and competitively priced. Her feedback was extremely thorough and very easy to follow. I hope to work with her again.

I'm working with three proofreaders at the moment, who all seem very amiable and skilled.

See Olivia Wood on LinkedIn or approach me for her contact details.

New Edition of "The Other Daughter" Available Now

To thank my readers for all your support, I've sent my most popular books to be professionally edited, starting with The Other Daughter.

When I started writing for Kindle, I had no idea that my books would suddenly take off. Although a proof-reader had always been an attractive investment, it had never been viable until now.

It's currently exclusive to Amazon, and for the next two days, is part of a free promotion.

Mel Comley on Cruel Justice, KDP Select and Grit

Mel Comley, Author of the DI Lorne Simpkins series, has been kind enough to give us an interview. Like many indie authors, she has just taken the step of putting some of her titles on KDP Select. Here she tells us why, and what she thinks of the programme so far.

Tell us a little about your books?

I write gritty, fast-paced thrillers. I currently have a trilogy out that centres around my main character of DI Lorne Simpkins. My books tend to have a lot of conflict in them. Anyone who likes...
