A selection of authors have kindly hosted me on their blogs today. I've contributed guest articles and interviews. Details as follows:

Comedy: you can't please everybody

I discuss the pitfalls of comedy writing and offer some tips on how to cope with the fact that you really can't please everyone. Kindly hosted by comedy writer, Jonathan Hill.

How to Juggle an Erotica-Writing Granny with Smelly Trolls

Michael Brookes, author of science fiction, fantasy and horror, invited me onto his blog to disc...

Which is better, reading The Trollogy or the Separate Books?

There are three Smelly Troll chapter books to read. But should you buy them separately or purchase The First Trollogy? The First Trollogy is books 1-3 in one big, snotacular volume.

The First Trollogy contains full length chapter books The Troll Trap, Mr Splendiferous and the Troublesome Trolls and Trolls On Ice. Gourmet Girl Burger is a separate short story.

Let's be honest here - the trollogy is a massive book. It is stuffed full of trolls. It will take you a...

Experiences of a Hybrid Author - Katherine Roberts Shares her Wisdom

I recently had the pleasure of meeting children's author, Katherine Roberts. This was a fascinating experience for me because, as well as being a very interesting person, Katherine has a wide variety of publishing experience. I asked Katherine if she'd mind giving me a written interview, so that I can share what I learned with my readers, and she kindly obliged.

Katherine is what's known as a hybrid author, meaning that some of her titles are traditionally published and others self-published.

Y...

Brand New Radio Cornwall Interview

Many thanks to Tiffany Truscott for having me back on Radio Cornwall to give a second interview. Tiffany asks me about bipolar disorder, selling books, troll dancing and more.

Notice me carefully dance around the issue of my new novella, cunningly never mentioning the title!

Listen to the interview on SoundCloud

Listen to Tiffany's whole show, a blend of music, local features and good old-fashioned banter.

Kath Middleton on Beyond 100 Drabbles

When Kath Middleton, known as 'Ignite', gave Lipstick and Knickers a two star review I thought she was a tough person to please, perhaps somebody who preferred a more traditional read. Don't get me wrong - Lipstick and Knickers isn't everybody's cup of tea. It has the lowest rating of all my titles, so a two star experience is not entirely rare. It is, however, unusual for somebody from UK Amazon Kindle forum to give a two star review to another member. I'm not saying it shouldn't happen - I'...

Jonathan Hill and Kath Middleton form a Drabble Army

Drabbles are spreading through the indie world like a disease - a good sort of disease but one as contagious as the plague. A drabble, for those of you who don't know, is a story written in exactly 100 words. This format has been increasing in popularity over the last fourteen months, with eighty-five indie authors becoming drabblists for Indie Book Bargains alone.

Jonathan Hill was always going to catch drabblitis. He's an established short story writer who's extremely active in indie publish...

The Indie Book World Falls in Love With Katie W. Stewart

When Katie W. Stewart was recommended to me in January this year, I knew her as a friendly author who I occasionally rubbed elbows with in online writing forums. I had no idea that she was also an exceptionally talented artist. Now, less than twelve months later, covers and books illustrated by Katie are popping up everywhere.

It's almost impossible to view the Amazon product page for a book by a member of the Kindle Users Forum without Katie's influence on the page somewhere. In the example b...

Dear David Walliams

Dear David Walliams,

I be Rosenburt Bogieslurper, the smelly troll author. I like to eat children and authors who snub me invitations. Personally, I be thinking you look a bit stringy, but I be having sharp teeth.

I want yer to interview me about being a smelly troll because children wanting to read about demon dentists and stinky misters, will want to know all about being a smelly troll. I personally smell like earwax that has been melted down, blended with garlic and re-solidified. What do yo...
