Deep in the heart of the moon

Deep in the heart of the Moon
I slipped inside the moon,
And found no one inside.
Instead, I lay upon a pillowed heart.
Pulsing in waves, winks, and smiles.
I peered out of moon craters,
And witnessed humanity hum along.
Holding hands, hugging, or fighting.
My pillowed heart expanded and contracted.
The oceans responded.
The heart waxed and waned.
I realigned to a moon crescent,
Cupping the world with the love
Of the universe.

Abbe’s Ruminations February 2024: Both Sides Now

Somewhere between getting ready to leave, reviewing my latest painting, brushing my teeth, and drinking a glass of my self-spritzed water, I lost the fob and key to my condo.

I remember my Bubbie and having to hunt for her keys. I always found them in the same place, a corner of her dresser, where she had taken a quick look in the mirror to make sure her reflection sufficed.
