Royal Geographical Society Ness Award

The Royal Geographical Society has announced their medals for 2016 and 'The Invention of Nature' won the Ness Award "For popularising the histories of geography and of scientific botanical exploration"! What an honour - of course Humboldt was also a fellow of the RGS.

'The Invention of Nature" will receive the inaugural James Wright Award for Nature Writing - a new major award from the Kenyon Review in association with the Nature Conservancy). As part of the annual Kenyon Review Award for Literary Achievement celebration on November 3, 2016.
