21 children suing the US government. Their complaint asserts that, through the government's affirmative actions that cause climate change, it has violated the youngest generations constitutional rights to life, liberty, and property, as well as failed to protect essential public trust resources. This is going to be HUGE

The Adventures of Alexander von Humboldt published in spring 2019.

Adventures AvH cover

I'm delighted to announce the forthcoming publication of a book I'm very proud of. A graphic novel (so to speak) about Alexander von Humboldt - to be published on 25 March 2019 by C.Bertelsmann in Germany, 2 April by Pantheon in the US, and in May by John Murray in the UK, as well as in the Netherlands, Spain and South America. In collaboration with the amazing artist Lillian Melcher.

Here is the description from the catalogue:

From the New York Times bestselling author of The Invention of Nature, comes a breathtakingly illustrated and brilliantly evocative recounting of Alexander Von Humboldts five year expedition in South America.

Alexander von Humboldt (1769-1859) was an intrepid explorer and the most famous scientist of his age. His restless life was packed with adventure and discovery, but his most revolutionary idea was a radical vision of nature as a complex and interconnected global force that does not exist for the use of humankind alone. His theories and ideas were profoundly influenced by a five-year exploration of South America. Now Andrea Wulf partners with artist Lillian Melcher to bring this daring expedition to life, complete with pages of Humboldts own diaries, as well as his sketches, drawings, maps and exquisite engravings. The Adventures of Alexander von Humboldtbrings together the arts and sciences. Andrea Wulf gives us an intimate portrait of the man who predicted human-induced climate change, fashioned poetic narrative out of scientific observation, and influenced iconic figures such as Simn Bolvar, Thomas Jefferson, Charles Darwin, and John Muir. This gorgeous account of the expedition not only illustrates how Humboldt honed his groundbreaking understanding of the natural world but also illuminates the man and his passions.
