Stories I did for #ipadjournos!

I am taking my last class for VCU called #ipadjournos, and we did a total of 4 stories for the semester. It led to me doing my final assignment at CBS 6 working in the newsroom during the election and keeping up with the data as it came in. I did have a blast, and I got published on the CBS 6 website. Here are the links to all my stories:

Onward and Upward!

2017 was an interesting year for me to say the least, but I’m actually looking forward to 2018. My birthday was yesterday, and I turned 27. I don’t feel it or look it, but I know I’ll be at a better place soon mentally. I graduate in December which means my time at VCU is almost up. I finally got someone to narrate my book Tales From Behind the Counter, and I’ll post when it’s done. I’m trying to finish AngelWitch at least, and all I need to do is write her last two weeks then the rough draft is done. It’s been a wild ride since this semester at VCU we are working with CBS 6, and come the elections I’ll be working in the newsroom. I’ve also given more thought of what I want to do. I’ve been working retail during the weekends, and going to school. It’s left me in a rut in a way. After school I’ll need to start looking for a new job in the field I want. I’ve been getting tired of retail too, and it’s the same old, same old thing. People complain over the stupidest stuff, and are rude too. It’s all been there, done that, and I’m ready for a change. Also been doing a ton of book buying and game playing too. It’s just been a finish school and get my degree then come up with the next steps. Also, save up money for editing my books and cover art. That is all I need to afford anyway since I have Vellum to format my books. Best money I’ve ever spent. In the meantime I’m working on books and writing stories as a journalist in the IPad Journal project at VCU. Link to one of the articles: http://wtvr.com/2017/10/20/northam-su... next time,

We’re In This Together: Celebrating Writers Who Persevere

Today I am happy to be part of Writers Persevere! , an event that authors Angela Ackerman and Becca Puglisi are running for the next few days to celebrate their release of their newest book, The Emotional Wound Thesaurus: A Writer’s Guide to Psychological Trauma. This book looks at the difficult experiences embedded in our character’s backstory which will shape their motivation and behavior afterward. GIVEAWAY ALERT! We also have a prize vault filled with items that can give your writing career a boost, so stop by Writers Helping Writers. I would love for one of you to win something that will help you get closer to your goal! If you struggle, remember to reach out to others. We are in this together, and by supporting one another, we cross the finish line together (and then keep going!). Happy writing!

News and Updates!

School is starting Thursday, and I’ll be part of VCU’s Ipad Journal project which will be exciting. I’ll be help cover the election, and in December I will be graduating VCU with a Bachelors in Mass Communication for Print/Online Journalism.
As for book news I hope to republish The Killer Contract Agency soon, and in the meantime working on finishing the rough draft of AngelWitch. The summer was kind of boring since I spent most of it working and/or depressed. Now it’s a different story and I’ll be ready to tackle my last semester. I’ll be posting the links to my journalism stories on the Journalism tab of my website. It will be interesting too!
Until next time,
Jess

More Endings...

Another relationship came to an end, and it was handled horribly. I was never told it was a break up just time a part. It came as a surprise and it will take me time to get over it. I really loved him, and it’s going to be sucky to tell people the ending. Then I got more shitty news Write More Publications is closing, and after July 1st my book The Killer Contract Agency will be unpublished. The rights will revert back to me, and I can redo the cover and republish it myself. Life can just catch you off guard, and I just released another book too. After this I’ll just focus on myself, school and writing. I’ll be graduating soon, and then who knows, but I would figure I would write an update. I do use real life in my stories, and the events that happened will go in Fur and Fang of Love. I know it takes time to heal, and I can’t till I stop hurting and go back to normal. I have my writing and books and that is all I need!
Until next time,

Tales Behind the Counter is out for Kindle!

My book is finally out in Kindle form, but the paperback had issues since I wanted to use colored because I designed a pretty blue chapter heading, but it didn’t show up on the print one. It’s being reviewed and the minimum price was 40.63…nope too much. As soon as it’s done being reviewed I’m changing it to black and white. Then after it’s reviewed I can order my proof in the meantime here is the Kindle version for $0.99 just for 5 days, and then it will be going up to $2.99.
Description: If you think the customer is always right, you've never worked at a place like Kyle's before.

Angeline has seen it all--crazy, stupid, and even mean. For the last five years, customers have tormented her daily in over five departments at her workplace, Kyle's General Store. In one chapter, she gives advice on surviving retail and shares her biggest pet peeves in the departments she has worked in. Join Angeline down memory lane as she tells her stories about crazy customers and the downright stupid questions they ask.

I’ve also put it in Kindle Select, and it’s free if you have a kindle unlimited version.
I’ll keep you posted on the paper back version!
Until next time,
