a Rafflecopter giveaway

Now about my giveaway! I have this freaky thing with voices, no not just the ones in my head clamoring to get on the page. I have ruined suspense movies with the simple phrase "Huh, isn't that (insert name of actor here)'s voice?" It is a gift and a curse. So what does this have to do with my writing? While I am working on a story the characters take form and by the end their voices are firmly in my head. When I was working on Second Chance at Salvation I mentioned that Ransom sounded like an older Bruce Springsteen. I just finished a Christmas short story and the hero, Jacob sounds like Rob Thomas from Matchbox 20. Strangely enough they have a new album coming out, their first in 10 years, with a song, This Could Be Our Song, that well, could be the hero's theme song. So here is the giveaway: Say Hi and leave your email address and I will pick a winner at the end of the hop to receive a copy of the new Matchbox 20 album and an advance copy of the Christmas story. I have been streaming the album on iTunes and love it!

I have the best editor EVAH!

Faith Williams of The Atwater Group is my editor and I have praised her skills to the heavens because really, I am dyslexic and have no command of English grammar anymore. She makes my stuff intelligible. The other thing she does is help promote my work which makes her worth her weight in GOLD!

September she is featuring me in her newsletter with an interview and all kinds of fun stuff. Also in September she is going to be tweeting quotes from All In (Lovers and Other Strangers Book Five) that she edited for me. So I thought I'd have a little fun. I'm going to be retweeting her quotes so if you see one and email me with the character from the book who said it you can get a point in the rafflecopter that will be on the home page on my site. At the end of September I'll do a drawing for a $25 Amazon gift card. Come play and if you are a writer check out Faith at: http://www.theatwatergroup.com

I missed a party….

So I missed a great Beach Book Blast Party last night for the 'joy' of watching 35 kids put on a production of The Wizard of OZ based on the book not the movie. You think the movie is cheesy camp till you miss it. Anyway, I had a character interview that wasn't used during the party so I thought I would put it up here.

Interview with Current (Curley) Jackson and Gianna Berri Jackson From All In (Lovers and Other Strangers Book Five) By L.C. Giroux

Interviewer: So tell me how you met?

Curley: She stole my heart...

Gianna: See, how could I not fall in love with the man? Actually, I picked his pocket but I am a lousy thief so I didn't get very far.

Curley: Wouldn't have let you get away regardless. (Heated look passing between them is making the interviewer feel like a fifth wheel!)

Interviewer: Okay, moving on! Um, when did you know that the other was 'The One' for you?

Gianna: Oh, for Pete's sake look at him! Wavy blonde hair, laughing blue eyes, all that lean muscle and dimples on top of it all. And then there is that laid back cowboy charm! But I knew he was the one when he held me that first time. I was a mess, hadn't had a proper bath in days, my hair was bright orange, and I was just rung out. I started crying with everything that had happened and well, I may have tried to convince myself otherwise, I think I fell in love with him then.

Guess What!

You'll never guess, heck I've been so busy I barely remembered. August is the anniversary of my start in self-publishing! Really, I put my first book on Amazon on August 8th, 2011 and what a wild ride it has been. So to celebrate I'm putting all of my single copy titles at 99 cents. I've started changing some but Amazon and all the groups that Smashwords pushes to (iTunes, Kobo, etc.) take a while. Be patient or just go to Smashwords and download it from there. Amazon will price match eventually giv them a couple of days. I'm so excited! I love giving away presents.

Oh, the sale price will also include All In the next book in the series. And Second Chance at Salvation once that hits all the other channels besides Amazon.

Busy, busy, busy!

So, I'm LOVING being a full-time writer… Too bad I haven't gotten any writing done. Truth be told I took the month of July off from writing to get all the loose ends caught up. So the house is now clean (no thanks to me), we have air conditioning (again, no thanks to me), my books are now up on AllRomanceEbooks.com (Okay, that I did), and I finally loaded His Deception into Smashwords (No idea why I had missed that?) I've also started writing some other, um, naughtier stories under another name but I'm not telling you what it is. There are actually clues in the first three books of the series but that is as much as you are getting from me!

My Mechanics of e-Pubbing course is humming along. We worked on Formatting last night and they all got it. I was boggled!

And, the WG2E anthology that I am contributing to should be out the beginning of August but here for your perusal is the cover!

WG2E+Summer+Fling+600x900+72dpi+127+KB

Okay, I still need to get the dog groomed and make reservations for dinner (Hey! I just had the dang house cleaned I'm not messing it up for as long as humanly possible!)

It has been forever...

Since I have updated the blog. I meant to but I got sucked into the Vacation/"I've fallen and I can't get up"/We live in WI and the temp is 106 degrees vortex that is also know as my life. I also quit my job of Nine YEARS and am now a full time writer. So add in the resulting anxiety attacks and well, I've been busy.

That said the WG2E anthology with Wild Child in it should be out any day and Book Five All In from my Lovers and Other Strangers series is almost done and should be out the beginning of August. So it is not like I have just been sitting around eating bonbons.

I am so psyched too because I started teaching my class on the Mechanics of E-Publishing and am loving the group. They are a fantastic bunch of writers with great questions for me. Oh, and then there is the audio books that I have started recording, yes, really!

In all the chaos, I never picked a winner for the review contest I was sponsoring. That will get fixed today. I had a devil of a time getting the pearls so I went with fire polished czech crystals instead. It made the bracelet both more mysterious and sparklier. The winner of my bracelet in the Book Lover's Buffet set of contests was Melissa B. and I have already gotten a wonderful thank you note with how much she loves it. Fans are not the reason I decided to start writing but I get tears in my eyes every time I get a note from someone that liked my work.

My First Boxed Set!

Series Box Set - amazon

Okay, it is up everywhere (or will be soon!) Lovers and Other Strangers Series Boxed set: The Boston Stories has been posted on Amazon, B&N, and Smashwords (so stay tuned iBooks, Kobo, and Sony fans!) It will be promotionally priced at .99 (Really!) till the 22nd of June for the IRI Summer Book Blowout. Yes, you can get the first three books plus the short story Wild Child (Also available in the Summer Fling WG2E Anthology). That would be Delia's story. When the promotion is over it will retail for 6.99 -still a decent deal over the individual titles. As part of the promo I am having a drawing for another wrap bracelet. This one is Adventurine, a beautiful pale green to white stone with darker green flecks.

Crystal-cure.com says: "Green Aventurine is the stone of luck and chance. It is said to increase perception and creative insight. It is a heart chakra stone. It is used to aid nearsightedness. Aventurine has a stabilizing effect on the emotions. It is excellent for teenagers."

Hmm, I may have to make two and save one for the '12 going on 17' daughter!

It's TODAY! Beach Book Blast!

Today is day one of the Beach Book Blast! It will run through the 25th. There are bunches of Free and .99 books on sale in all kinds of genres. This is definitely time to fill the kindle.

BBBLAST

Here is the thing. I'm opting out of Select soon so if you want to download  some of my books for nothing you better get on the stick! Why am I not going to use Select anymore? In the beginning, I was a huge fan and got tons of downloads and borrows. Now it is a very different story. Free promos don't make a whole lot of difference when there are tons everyday. Pricing my books at a reasonable rate (2.99) means that it isn't worth the borrow to well… borrow it. From now on I will be running sales. Dropping my price from 2.99 to .99 will hopefully give me a bounce even if it doesn't take off like a freebie does. So pick up what you can as I use up my free days! Don't forget. If you review either or both of my books available before June 18th you'll be entered in the drawing for the wrap bracelet. Gorgeous and fun to wear.
