The Last Zombie – In Stores Now
The Last Zombie: Dead New World trade paperback is on sale now at your local comic book shop. This volume collects issues #1 through #5, along with Joe Wight's eye-popping production art and seldom seen promotional images.
In The Last Zombie, join Doctor Ian Scott and his companions as they journey across America in the wake of the zombie apocalypse. The dead may be dead again, but before humanity can rebuild, they must face plaques, despots, nuclear disasters, roving marauders, biological hazards, wild animals, starvation — and the possibility that the zombie virus might still be lurking somewhere in the ruins.

More Ghoul Casting News
Nolan Gould (Modern Family) and Barry Corbin (No Country For Old Men, The Closer) have both joined the cast of Ghoul, alongside actress Catherine Mary Stewart (previously announced). I knew this already, but I wasn't allowed to tell you until the press reported it. You can read The Hollywood Reporter's article about it here.

A Slight Detour
In my head, this is where I still am — sitting on the edge of a hot tub with Mary and three good friends. In reality, I'm sitting alone in a hotel room in Memphis, courtesy of Delta Airlines, who sprung for the accommodations after lightning hit our airplane earlier today, stranding me here overnight. I'm anxious to get home simply because I won't be home much in the next few weeks, as I'm off to Baton Rouge shortly to visit the set of Ghoul.
WHC 2011 was, quite simply, the best World Horror I've ever had the pleasure of attending. It certainly felt like the World Horror Conventions of old, although with some important differences, the most noticeable being that torches have been passed, levels have been reached, and new responsibilities are multitude. I tried to give a speech about this on Friday, and instead of waxing poetically or profoundly, I got all weepy. But weepy in a good way. Suffice to say, I'll type the speech up at some point and post it here, because I think it's something you should all know.
News out of WHC is as follows: I will be doing much more with Antarctic Press, Deadite Press, Thunderstorm Books, and Camelot Books. Of these, only Suburban Gothic, the sequel to Urban Gothic, was officially announced. You'll see it some time next year. There were also glimpses of some mysterious signature sheets signed by myself, Mary SanGiovanni, Wrath James White, and Nate Southard. While I am not at liberty to say what those sheets were for, I can tell you that they involve the return of Levi Stoltzfus, and that you'll find out soon.
In short, I'm back. I still have two more things leftover from last year to attend to, but I'm going to let lawyers handle those and they should be resolved soon. I have survived the fire and the rain. I have emerged older, wiser, and stronger than ever. There are many more books to come, and I'll keep writing them if you keep reading them.
