Hollywood Updates
A semi-annual round-up of what is in the works. Ghoul and The Ties That Bind have been produced. Dark Hollow, Darkness on the Edge of Town, Terminal, and Castaways are currently under option. Parties interested in optioning the rights to any of my other works should direct all queries to briankeene at live.com.
TO FIGHT WITH MONSTERS
Dig the new cover for To Fight With Monsters, a comic I wrote with Mike Oliveri, illustrated by Ben Dunn. It's at the printer. You can still pre-order a copy for $5 by clicking here. And you can check out a free six-page preview by clicking here.
This is a one-shot, single issue. There will be no trade paperback. Those who entered March's pre-order contest will be receiving their prizes soon!
Meanwhile, the first The Last Zombie trade paperback debuted at #141 in the top 300 Graphic Novels listed by Diamond last month. Thanks to everyone for the support. Some good reviews for it here and

A Tale of Two Timmys
Here's me and Nolan Gould (Modern Family) on the set of Ghoul. I've said in interviews, Ghoul's Timmy is one of my most autobiographical characters. Now Nolan is playing him, and knocking it out of the park. It's very strange to see someone playing a fictionalized version of yourself as a kid, and I am deeply honored and humbled by Nolan's portrayal.
Anyway, that's where I was last week. There wasn't a lot of activity here, but I did post a free soundtrack for Clickers II, and we celebrated today's non-Rapture with Take The Long Way Home. Despite the free soundtrack and the four pages worth of Ghoul set pics, several people got mad at me for not answering their emails or posting a new Deluge chapter. We pointed and laughed at one of them.
Later this week, the complete author line-up for Horrorfind Weekend! Dead Sea! Clickers III for Kindle and Nook! An update on the much-delayed Of Keene Interest newsletter! And more…

Brian Keene is also not your bitch, Dennis

Here's me giving some fans a tour of the set yesterday, which according to Dennis, I don't do.
I've posted more pics from the set of Ghoul. You can view them here.
Deadite Press tells me that Dead Sea should be back in print within the next two weeks, and that Clickers III will be available in digital before month's end. Also, look for a Malestrom announcement next week.
Finally, meet Dennis, who is upset about the Deluge delays, and thinks I don't do enough for my fans or treat them with enough respect. And here is my response to Dennis.

CELEBRATE THE RAPTURE
In case you haven't heard, the Rapture is supposed to occur this Saturday, May 21, 2011. To celebrate this momentous occasion, you should buy a copy of Take The Long Way Home (available in paperback, Kindle or Nook). Take The Long Way Home is, of course, my own take on the Rapture, as seen through the eyes of three protagonists — an Atheist, a Jew, and a Gay man, all of whom get left behind (as per Christian doctrine) when the Rapture occurs, and find themselves stuck in the world's biggest post-apocalyptic traffic jam. Buy one today!

ATTENTION FANS WHO LIVE IN OR NEAR BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA: I am currently in Baton Rouge on the set of GHOUL, a feature length adaption of my novel which will debut this Fall on the Chiller network. The studio has graciously offered to let me give a few of you a personally guided tour of the set tomorrow and Friday night (May 19 and 20th). Details below:
*Tours are limited to 20 people per night. You must RSVP in advance by emailing briankeene at live.com. When you RSVP, you must inform us how many people are in your group, and which night you will be attending (Thursday or Friday).

If they are filming during your visit, you can watch them film. Absolutely no photographs will be allowed while on the set (but photographs outside the building are allowed). You will also receive a limited edition production pen.
*I will be happy to sign any books that you bring along. If you have a camera, you can also take a photo with me (outside the set). There is no additional charge for signing or photographs. If you would prefer a high-grade keepsake (rather than a photo from your smart phone), a professional photographer who has worked with Annie Leibovitz will be on hand. His cost is $15 (again, cash only).

For People Who Can't Read
Reminder: I am currently in Baton Rouge on the set of Ghoul, and cannot answer your emails or write you a new chapter of Deluge (because people don't understand this even though I've said it here, here, here and here. So please stop emailing missives like, "If you cared about your fans, you'd post a new Deluge chapter." Sorry I didn't do that. I did, however, post three dozen pics from the set of the movie. You
can view them here.
I have an office here. If there is time later this week, I'll post the Author Guest List and programming schedule for Horrorfind Weekend 13. Also, some Dorchester news broke today. We're still going through the transcript, but will give you the details soon.

On The Road Again

Author Weston Ochse, not writing.
That's friend and fellow author Weston Ochse over there to your left, who's just written some nice things about The Last Zombie. I enjoyed my brief time at home, but I'm back to traveling again tomorrow. Next stop, Baton Rouge, to watch them film the climactic tunnel scene from Ghoul. I wrote a little bit about it here, including an explanation of why I haven't answered your emails or returned your calls.
Speaking of Ghoul, star Nolan Gould posted this pic from the set. The IMDB page is also live. Meanwhile, Dark Hollow director Paul Campion is in Cannes this week. Here's the trailer for his new movie The Devil's Rock, in which Ob gets a mention. While we're on the subject of Ob, he's returning in the forthcoming Clickers versus Zombies (along with Jim and Danny from The Rising and City of the Dead).
Meanwhile, the long wait is over for Nook owners. All of my Deadite Press titles are now available for the Nook. Also, there's a really cool hat up for auction signed by myself, Joe Hill, Peter Straub, Joe Lansdale, Steve Niles, F. Paul Wilson and over a hundred more. The proceeds benefit Bryan Smith. And finally, it appears that Osama bin Laden was watching Nickolaus Pacione videos in his hideaway.
Updates will be slow this week. Follow me on Twitter if you want to know what I'm doing, and keep an eye on TwitPic for shots from the Ghoul set.
