How To Help Tom Piccirilli (UPDATED)
As previously noted, author Tom Piccirilli will be undergoing surgery today to remove a large brain tumor. The operation will be followed by weeks of treatment and recovery. There are two ways that readers, fans, friends, and peers can help Tom.
1. You can donate money directly via this fundraiser on IndieGoGo. The fundraiser has been set up by Tom’s niece. All proceeds will go directly to Tom.
2. You can purchase one of his digital books published by Crossroads Press. From now until the end of the year, they are waiving their percentage, and 100% of the sales will go to Tom.
3. You can donate money immediately via PayPal to Tom’s sister-in-law. This money will help Tom’s wife Michelle with living expenses now (as the fundraiser money won’t be available until the end of October). See the Donate button at the top of this page.
4. Following the lead of Crossroads Press, Chi Zine Publications have announced that until the end of the year, 100% of the sales for the digital edition of Tom’s Every Shallow Cut will also go directly to the author.

Almost Gone
There are less than two dozen Maelstrom III sets left. Remember — although Earthworm Gods II: Deluge will be available in paperback and digital next year, this will be the only edition of Sundancing ever published. All three books are getting rave reviews. Buy yours now before they’re gone! Click here to order.

Tom Piccirilli To Undergo Brain Surgery (UPDATED)

L to R: Adam Pepper, Monica Kuebler, Cody Goodfellow, me, John Skipp, Tom Piccirilli, and Michelle Scalise
As some of you know, Tom Piccirilli hasn’t been feeling himself lately — headaches, vision problems, etc. He was admitted into the hospital Thursday after undergoing an MRI. On Friday, Tom learned that that the culprit is a brain tumor. He’ll be undergoing surgery this Monday to have the tumor removed, followed by weeks of chemo and radiation treatments.
Tom has been one of my best friends for the last fifteen years. I call him big bro. He calls me little bro. It’s meant, on both our parts. In an industry where people turn on you on a dime, Tom stands rock solid. I can’t think of anyone more mutually beloved by our peers than Tom is. I’m sure there will be a Kickstarter put together soon enough to help with his medical bills, but until then, I’d appreciate if ALL OF YOU could purchase something by Tom. He’s written crime, horror, westerns, bizarro, and more. (See below).
UPDATE: Tom’s digital publisher, Crossroads Press, have announced that for at least the rest of the year, 100% of the sales from Tom’s digital books that they’ve published will go to him. They are waiving their percentage. Click here to purchase one.
And thanks to David Niall Wilson of Crossroads Press for this incredible gesture.

THE LAST ZOMBIE: BEFORE THE AFTER #4
The Last Zombie: Before the After #4 is up for pre-order. You can reserve it at your local comic book store, or if you prefer, pre-order a copy online HERE.
(Believe me – after the cliffhanger on the last page of #3, you’ll want to have this ready to read on release day).
Sergeant Warner demands the best from the people under his command, but what does he demand of himself? As the blizzard ends, the demons that drive Warner are finally revealed. But what of Ian’s secrets? Is Doctor Federman about to discover the truth about them?

THE LAST ZOMBIE (and DOOM PATROL) now digital!
My ongoing comic book series, The Last Zombie, is now available in digital for those of you who prefer reading comics on your iPads and other electronic devices. Comixology has the first thirteen issues available for immediate purchase HERE.
Note: You can also download a digital copy of my issue of Doom Patrol, as well. And since I’m meeting with the top brass at DC Comics very soon, a nice little sales bump on that would help me out.

Catching Up
[image error]To the left, a scale model miniature office that Mary made for my birthday. By hand. Including tiny little whiskey bottles, a tiny humidor with miniscule cigars inside, and tiny copies of every book I’ve ever written (including their covers). Again, all by hand. It’s one of the most thoughtful, delightful, moving, and creative birthday presents I’ve ever received.
Speaking of creativity, here’s an update on works in progress, upcoming releases, Lifetime Subscriptions, and the Ghoul screenplay book.
WORKS IN PROGRESS: Finishing up the final draft of The Lost Level and hope to turn it over to my pre-readers by the end of this month. Once that novel is out of the way, I can go gangbusters on Hole in the World (the two novels are connected, and the latter couldn’t be finished until I figured out the former). Am also working diligently on finishing up my story for Cemetery Dance’s Four Killers and some other stuff that’s gone sideways on me. Also trying to find time to finish some interviews, etc. Basically, I’m 45 and still trying to work like I did at 35. And finding that it’s not so easy. Now that Turtle is back in pre-school and my oldest is back in college, I’ve got a semi-normal work schedule again, and hope to begin finishing off things stat!
UPCOMING RELEASES: As previously noted, next up from Deadite Press are (in order) Ghost Walk, Earthworm Gods, Earthworm Gods: Selected Scenes From the End of the World, Clickers vs. Zombies, The Rising, City of the Dead, The Rising: Selected Scenes From the End of the World, and Suburban Gothic. Next year’s Maelstrom set is in the planning stages. J.F. Gonzalez and I are working on a top secret project for Larry Roberts codenamed “The Bible“. J.F. and I are also in the planning stages of a Clickers comic book series called High Plains Clickers). Speaking of comics, issue #5 of The Last Zombie: Before the After is a game-changer. I won’t give spoilers, but it leads into The Last Zombie: Eat the Rich, which is the next to last story-arc in the series. And as announced at Killercon last weekend, I’ve got definitive plans for self-publishing more on Kindle, Nook, and Kobo next year with something codenamed “Hell On Earth“.
LIFETIME SUBSCRIPTIONS: As previously announced, Thunderstorm Books will be packaging and shipping all future Lifetime Subscriber packages, which means folks will receive them more frequently. The first batch –comic books–is going off to Thunderstorm this week for dissemination to subscribers. The next batch — trade paperbacks — will be sent a few weeks from now. Subscribers should continue to contact me, rather than Thunderstorm, with any questions or address changes.
GHOUL SCREENPLAY AND STORYBOARD: I signed all of them while in New York a few months back. They were shipped by the publisher, but apparently, the USPS ate a bunch of those shipments. Replacement books were sent to me to sign. Those books were received last week and signed, and will ship this week. Please do not contact me about these, as I did not publish the book nor process the payments. I’m simply the guy who was supposed to sign them.
