MAELSTROM III – On Sale Now

Maelstrom Set 3 on sale now! Three books, limited to 300 copies. $125 per set. CLICK HERE TO ORDER

EARTHWORM GODS II: DELUGE by Brian Keene

In Brian Keene’s cult-classic, Earthworm Gods, global super-storms decimated the planet, eradicating most of mankind. In the midst of this ecological nightmare, the remnants of humanity fought against a supernatural menace in a war that ranged from the rooftops of submerged cities to the mountaintop islands jutting from the sea.

Now, the battle continues. As the last of the mountains sink beneath the waves, the survivors make a desperate final stand. But the worms aren’t the only enemy they face. The world-wide ocean is host to a legion of monsters, each more terrifying than the last, and mankind is vastly outnumbered by these new horrors. Adrift at sea and struggling to stay alive, the surviving members of the human race cling to a thin strand of hope. But their possible salvation may be worse than their looming extinction…

SUNDANCING by Brian Keene

In this meta-fictional novella, a broken, beaten, and burned-out horror novelist is struggling to emerge from the aftermath of two years of personal and professional upheaval. Corrupt publishers, a global economic collapse, an industry in flux, a divorce, and a heart attack have left him unsure of everything, including — for the first time — himself. Courting a death wish and desperate for renewal and reinvention, the writer looks to Hollywood for safe harbor. But when this possible salvation turns into potential damnation, the author and his friends must go to war against an enemy unlike any they’ve ever encountered.

In this return to the style of the classic Hail Saten-era, Brian Keene reveals what it’s really like to write for a living, what actually happens behind the scenes when a book is turned into a movie, and how easy it is for an author to lose their soul… Note: This novella is exclusive to this set and will NEVER be reprinted in any other format.

ANSWERS OF SILENCE by Geoff Cooper

Welcome to Brackard’s Point, New York — a town full of secrets. Gustav, Chuck, Jammer, Ronnie, and the rest of the residents know about darkness…. and pain. This is a town brimming with unrequited love and unfathomable hate. A town where dreams lay shattered in back alleys. A town where trees whisper in the moonlight. A town where serial killers attend cub scout meetings. A town where doves ask the questions and the answers are silent.

Welcome to Brackard’s Point. Enjoy your stay — because you won’t be leaving…

Thunderstorm Books is proud to present Geoff Cooper’s Answers of Silence, collecting some of the most hard-to-find and sought after short fiction of any small press author in the last decade.

FAST ZOMBIES SUCK – On The Set (UPDATED)

After months of pre-production, Drunken Tentacle Productions (an indie film company founded by myself, Jeff Heimbuch, Mike Lombardo, Matthew Blazi, Mike Antonio, and Dave Thomas) shot and wrapped our first film this weekend. Fast Zombies Suck is based on my short story of the same title. It stars Karin Crighton and the aforementioned Matt Blazi. We hope to finish post-production and have it available on DVD by December (probably right around the same time as Ghoul’s DVD release).

I’d like to thank all the fans and readers who showed up early Saturday morning to serve as extras (as well as the folks who just hung out on the sidelines and watched). I know it was a long day, and hot as hell, but you guys were so patient and wonderful and enthusiastic, and I can’t tell you how much all of the crew appreciated your help. Extra special props to the extras that were out in the field with me — we survived attacks by bees and green lady bugs! I’d also like to thank fellow authors J.F. Gonzalez and Geoff Cooper. J.F. was gracious enough to serve as an extra, and Coop served double duty as medical staff and firearm safety expert.

Hundreds of official pics from the set are on the Drunken Tentacle Facebook page. For those of you without Facebook, here are a few of my favorite pics from the weekend.

Lifetimers Update

I’m pleased to announce that I’ve entered a partnership with Thunderstorm Books. Going forward, Thunderstorm will package and ship all Brian Keene Lifetime Subscriber packages. What this means for you is more frequent shipments and better packaging. Everything else remains the same. If your address changes or a package is lost in the mail, you should still notify me, rather than Thunderstorm. The next shipment will go out soon, after we complete the transition process.

Your Top 5 Most Burning Questions

Quick run down of your five most currently asked questions (via Twitter, Facebook, and the comments section of this website).

Q: When will Ghoul be available on DVD?

A: January 2013 (until then, you can catch it in re-runs every week on Chiller).

Q: When will Entombed be out in paperback and digital?

A: Ghost Walk, Entombed, and An Occurrence in Crazy Bear Valley are the next books slated for release from Deadite. I would guess that all three should be available within the next month or so. If you want something more specific, ask Deadite here.

Q: What are your long-term plans for the new Jobs In Hell?

A: Same as they are in the short-term – content that drives a daily audience of people who might not normally visit this website or be familiar with my work.

Q: Are you going to be taking the self-publishing plunge anytime soon?

A: Sort of. I’m going to test the waters with Kindle and Nook editions of Alone and Scratch later this year.

Q: Anything new in comics?

A: The Last Zombie has three more 5-issue story arcs before it’s conclusion. After that, it’s time for High Plains Clickers.
