Earth 2408: Prequel to The Alpha King Part I
As promised. Here is installment number one for Earth 2408, the prequel to Passion's Hero: The Alpha King. Enjoy!-Vicktor Alexander

Traven stood in his kitchen, his bare feet cold on the tile floor, his toes clenching in agitation as he lifted his coffee cup to his lips, his eyes fixed on a point out of the window above the sink, hundreds of miles away. His mind drifted as he struggled to see what he knew he would never be able to see from his home in Auburndale, Florida. He sighed as his hands pressed tightly against the ceramic mug that held his favorite blend of Starbucks brewed coffee. His golden hazel eyes narrowed as he tried to focus his mind on the image he wanted to see, struggled to bring it into focus when he heard the sound of footsteps behind him."What the hell are you doing Trav?" he heard the deep, rumbly voice of his partner, Joshua, ask from behind him.Closing his eyes as the sweet timbre of his love washed over his senses, Traven turned with a smile towards the only man he would only love. He watched as Joshua stared at him for a moment, his blue eyes staring at him suspiciously only moments before they darkened with need and arousal. They had only made love four hours before and Traven knew that he should be physically exhausted and completely unable to even consider getting aroused, especially at his age, but something had happened when their guests had arrived in town and Traven had felt his body go through an almost physiological change and now it was as if everything about him was younger, stronger, more virile and for a gay man nearing his 40s, that was the greatest news he'd ever heard."I'm just looking out the window," he said, his voice lowering seductively as Joshua walked closer.Joshua looked out of the window and then allowed his blue eyes to settle back on Traven's face, "They're not going to appear in front of the house with big black eyes and green skin you know."Traven rolled his eyes, sometimes Joshua treated him like he was the smartest human in the world, other times he treated him like Traven was some foreign creature he just couldn't understand. "I know that Josh. I just don't know why…if they've been around forever, why now? Why make contact now?" Traven asked Joshua, not for the first time."I can't tell you what's said in those meetings Trav and you know that," Joshua reprimanded him gently before coming to a stop directly in front of Traven. Traven could never truly explain it to others or completely understand it himself, but whenever Joshua stood in front of him, he trembled. It was almost as if Joshua's presence, his spirit, his inner power was wrapping around Traven and squeezing and caressing him all at the same time. A notion that was completely ridiculous and yet described how Traven felt around Joshua perfectly."I know that Joshua and I'm not asking you to tell me what happens in those meetings, I just want to know why they're here. I just want to know if I should worry. If you're safe. If I'm safe…if we're safe, with them being here. In our world. On our planet. In our city and our state," Traven raised his hazel eyes to Joshua's blue ones and allowed the other man to see the fear that he'd tried so hard to keep hidden from everyone. Traven was afraid. Deathly afraid of what the appearance of the aliens actually meant and if life as he knew it was over.Joshua narrowed his eyes at him and then removed the coffee mug from Traven's grasp before putting it on the counter behind him, grabbing hold of Traven, Joshua pulled him close to his body and Traven breathed in deeply of the man who owned him, mind, body and soul and shuddered. He trembled not only in fear of the unknown but at the smell of this man who had entered his life only 9 years before and then had possessed him completely after only two dates. Traven knew that Joshua would do everything in his power to keep them safe, but more than that to keep Traven safe, Joshua would risk his own life."Listen to me Traven Rumario Versuthion…there is no way in hell that you aren't safe. You're mine and no one hurts what's mine. I will protect you until the day that I draw my last breath and even then I will take care of you from the beyond. These aliens that have landed here on our planet are here in a peaceful manner to better our planet. I don't want you to worry though, you, more than any other human on this planet is safe. I've seen to that myself," Joshua assured him and Traven felt peace fill his body. He didn't know why he doubted Joshua, he should've known that the other man would come through for him. He always did."Yes, Joshua Alturniton Lemore Roughshire. Whatever you say," Traven said with a cheeky grin and lifted his face for the kiss he was sure that Joshua would place on his lips. He was right. As the two men kissed passionately in their kitchen, Traven pushed away all thoughts of the aliens that had arrived only days before and the fact that when they had they had asked for all of the world's leaders…and Joshua. No, he wouldn't think about the fact that Joshua was asked for and called by name, because if Joshua told him that he had nothing to worry about then he had nothing to worry about. Plain and simple, end of story. Joshua always told the truth.Always.

Life-Changing Book: Honored Vow by Mary Calmes

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
10 Stars....
I want to give this book 10 stars.
Every page I turned the book got better and that's not an exaggeration, that is truth. This book, this story and Mary's writing oozes, leaks and throbs with perfection, with genius.
I don't think anyone more than me pleaded, begged, cajoled, blackmailed, whined, and prayed for a third book in Mary's werepanther series. I had fallen so in love with Jin and Logan in Change of Heart, at the time seeing myself in Jin and my deceased fiance, Christopher, in Logan. As I have grown and change, so has Jin and Logan.
The relationships, the strength, the power, the sex, the couples, even the betrayal and violence improved one hundredfold between Trusted Bond and this book.
I didn't think it was possible for me to love Jin and Logan more than I had in Trusted Bond, but Mary proved me wrong. More than that, Mary made me fall in love with characters that I had only a passing affection for before: Domin, Yuri, Crane, Mikhail and characters that I had previously rooted for and cheered for did a complete 180 and I found myself sneering at them and wishing for boils to grow on their privates.
This book takes place a while after Trusted Bond, it doesn't pick up immediately, but takes place a few years after book two ends, and I will admit I was looking to see how much everything had changed. I was very happy to see that Logan and Jin's relationship had strengthened, that their bond had become impenetrable. I was happy to see Jin gaining control over his power. More than that I was so happy to see characters redeeming themselves or showing their true colors.
Each chapter, each page got better. I laughed, I gasped, I almost cried (which I blame on someone cutting onions somewhere), I yelled at characters, I almost threw my book across the room in fury. I even started a "shit hit" list and put characters on there that I wanted to see pay for their egregious sins. I was very happy to see justice play out.
More than that I was happy with the way I felt when the book finished. While I wouldn't turn my nose up at another book with Jin and Logan (because c'mon I think the only person that loves them more than me is Mary Calmes and even then, we'd probably have to debate that), I can honestly say that when the book was over, I sighed. In relief, in satisfaction, in happiness, in awe, in love, in completion. I knew that Jin and Logan had told their story and for them, questions had been answered, bonds were solid and they were, they are one of the most loving couples I have ever read about.
I wanted to give this book 10 stars, because 5 just doesn't seem enough to do it justice. Brilliant perfection Mary, that was this book, brilliant perfection.

You Can Help Write The Story for A Very Tate Valentine's!
Over the next two weeks I will put up a series of polls involving the Tate pack, the mates and different scenarios in the upcoming short, A Very Tate Valentine's.
You get to help write the story.
Just answer each poll question and whichever answer has the most votes, it will appear in the book. At the end of next week I will have a contest, whichever name is chosen as the winner from the commentators, both from here my author blog (http://vicktor-alexander.blogspot.com), my website (http://vicktoralexander.com) and on GoodReads (http://goodreads.com/vicktoralexander), either on my profile page or on my author thread in the Rainbow Writers & Readers group (http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/735362-vicktor-alexander)(if you're not a member of the group, you will have to join it) and mentions the contest will receive a free copy of A Very Tate Valentine's, which is a short, and also the full-length novel, Impossible, which will be the book following that one (set to be released at the beginning of May).
So here's your first poll and your first chance to comment.
Poll: What Should Ton Get Tommy For Valentine's Day?
Six Sentence Sunday-Unassumed
I thought I'd try my hand at this Six Sentence Sunday deal, so here we go. Six sentences from "Unassumed", release date in early February.

"I don't understand why he's letting that little cross-dresser's leaving bother him so much. I mean he was just a man," Howell muttered as he watched in fascination when Curt yawned in his sleep and then stuck his right thumb in his mouth, all without waking up. Children were fascinating to Howell. That didn't mean that he wanted any, far from it. Children were right up there with a mate, things that he absolutely did NOT want. He didn't see the purpose of having either.

Prequel to The Alpha King
So my book The Alpha King which is Book One of the Passion's Hero series is almost completed with its second round of edits and ready for its third round (yes, many, many, many rounds associated with this one) and I got an idea to sort of write the story before the story.
I'm still thinking of the name of the prequel, but it will be set on Earth and talk about what happens on Earth here before The Alpha King begins. I will put up the first installment on Monday and yes, it will be completely free.
Also, Tommy, Richard, Michael, Alex, and Maurice from The Tate Pack want a special book called: The Mate Diaries and I'll put up some of their entries as well.
Because you guys know, I'm a freaking overachiever and I'm apparently not happy unless I've got so much on my plate that I want to pull out what little I left of my hair on my head after my haircut. LOL.
I'm off to write...again. Have a great weekend all!!!

Excerpt:
Earth 2320
No one expected it when it happened. One minute Neptune was there and in the next minute, scientists watched in amazement as Neptune blinked out and then just as quickly reappeared. A strange anamoly that they may have been able to explain away as being a glitch in their hi-tech computer system, but just five months later Uranus "blinked," as well. Observing the planets a little more closely than usual, the scientist were amazed to find that the planets that had once seem inhabitable now appeared to have life forms on it. Flora and fauna life form of course, but the oxygen levels were just a little too low for humans to live there. When three months passed and nothing happened, the scientists of Earth held the first ever Science and Earth Crisis Meeting, called SECM, to discuss what they thought had happened. No one expected the panicked and anxiety ridden red-haired intern, Troy Cooperstone, freckles displayed prominently upon his face to come running into the room, yelling and screaming, his arms waving madly, dressed haphazardly in a brown and tan checkered sweater vest, beige button down, and brown pants, about how Saturn had disappeared. When one of the more prominently known scientists, and easily named the smartest man in the world, Dr. Kamberstein, corrected the young man and told him that Saturn had "blinked" out temporarily, but had returned, the intern, with hands on his slim hips huffed in annoyance and held up his iPad to the know-it-all scientist. "No. Saturn disappeared," Troy stated emphatically, barely holding back the smug grin of satisfaction as he heard every man in the room gasp as they watched the planet disappear completely and this time, unlike the others, never return. "What the hell?" Dr. Lewis Bradley, a young, very handsome scientist whispered in shock and awe, standing to his feet. Dr. Bradley was the youngest scientist in the room. Extremely handsome, the African-American man didn't speak much, but when he did everyone took notice. His voice, normally low and soothing, was filled with an almost reverent fear as he watched his favorite planet disappear. Troy watched as Dr. Bradley walked towards him and hoped that the older man couldn't see the way he watched him with admiration and hero worship. His dad had grown up in a city just five hours away from the well-known Ecologist, but had never met the man, though he admired him greatly. Troy couldn't wait to tell his dad that he'd met his idol, even though he was sure that his dad wouldn't care. Troy held his breath as he watched Dr. Bradley, watch the video footage. When the scene ended, Dr. Bradley stood to his fully impressive, six foot six inch height and turned to stare down every man in the room. "Well okay men, it looks as if we have a planet that has disappeared. So…what do we do now?" Dr. Bradley inquired and the room burst into an explosion of sound. Troy jumped slightly when he felt Dr. Bradley's hand land on his slim shoulder and squeeze slightly. Looking up the tall man's frame, his gaze slowly taking in every aspect of the other man's grey slacks, black button down, grey tie, and open white lab coat, before moving over the other man's nut brown skin, his prominent Adam's apple, square jaw, full lips that looked to be an almost red color in the areas where the other man had been nibbling his lower lip, up past his nose and up to the doctor's gorgeous grey eyes. Wow, he thought, I don't think I've ever seen grey eyes before. I totally see why dad's gay though. Some guys are just…hot. Comfortable enough with his sexuality to make that statement…mentally, Troy shook Dr. Bradley's hand when the other man offered it. "Good catch there kid. Gonna make a really good scientist one day. Keep up the good work." Unable to speak a word after being given the amazing compliment Troy only nodded and watched as Dr. Bradley returned into the fold of debating scientists and sighed. He really couldn't wait to tell his father now.

New Year's Eve From Tommy's Perspective
Well there is one character from my Tate Pack series who has made a huge impact on not only me, but you, the readers as well: Mr. Tommy Wilkins, a.k.a. "Tammy Walks". Our cross-dressing mate from Inconceivable is apparently a fan favorite (I can totally understand why, Tommy is more than a little fabulous).
So I asked Tommy if he wouldn't mind stopping by the Purple Fantasy Den and talking to us about New Year's Eve.
He said he would, but only if I completely turned "The Den" over to him.
I had a little bit of a problem with that at first, but eventually I agreed. And knowing Tommy I wasn't even the tiniest bit amazed when he came in with designers, a boombox and Lady Gaga's cd in his hand. So after he gave the Den a major interior design makeover (it's still purple, but there's some glitter, gold throw pillows, a few posters of naked cowboys, firemen, doctors, wolf shifters and oh my gosh....is that a naked picture of Ton and Tommy having sex?
I was very drawn to that picture. The two of them are very sexy together. Which is probably why they're always having sex....like always.
I notice that Tommy is walking kind of funny and I'm proud of myself for not saying anything when he glares at me and starts talking.
Tommy: Shut up Vic.
Vicktor Alexander: I didn't say anything.
Tommy: You were thinking it. Just wait until you and Daniel finally get together. Let's see if you laugh when people are giving the both of you the all-knowing eye.
I'm a little shocked that Tommy seems to know about my relationship with author Daniel A. Kaine (of Dawn of Darkness) and I notice him smirk.
Tommy: You'd be amazed at the information we find out out at Tate Ranch. Just keep your looks to yourself or you're going to find some hidden cameras stashed around your place.
Feeling completely chastised and knowing that it was time to get this show on the road, I just jumped right into the interview, although I was completely aware that with Tommy in the chair, he was going to take over eventually.
V.A.: So Tommy any big plans for New Year's Eve?
Tommy: Oh yeah. Ton went out with some of the other shifters and they loaded up the barn with liquor and snacks and then they went out to get meat for a barbecue. I only hope that they cook it all the way through. I may need to keep my girlish figure but I still like to eat my meat. I mean...nothing beats the taste and feel of meat in my mouth and sliding down my throat.
V.A.: (choosing to ignore Tommy's dirty innuendo) Why wouldn't they cook the meat all the way through?
Tommy: (looking at me like I'm stupid) Shifters honey. If Ton, Vet, Howl, Ross and Calvin got their way, all the food would be chased, pounced on, killed and then eaten raw. (shudders) I'm sorry, that's just extremely gross to me.
V.A.: (feeling a little queasy myself) So outside of the barbecue and the drinking, do you and Ton have any special plans?
Tommy: (gives me a soft smile) Oh yeah. We have something amazing planned. We're going to be expanding our family at the beginning of the year so we have to go and get ready for the new addition.
V.A.: (shocked) Oh my gods! Are you two adopting kids?
Tommy: (looking at me like I'm stupid) You created me...so you tell me. Are we adopting kids?
V.A.: (laughing) Tommy, we both know that you became your own person the moment you said your first line in "Unthinkable".
Tommy: (giggles) That's very true.
V.A.: So...are you going to tell us?
Tommy: Nope, not until A Very Tate Valentine's. Then all will be revealed.
V.A.: You're a little bit evil.
Tommy: You made me that way.
V.A. True. (Looking at the clock) So before we go...any New Year's resolutions?
Tommy: (thinking and smoothing his hair before crossing his legs delicately. I'm a little bit envious. I couldn't pull off that graceful movement even at the peak of my trying to be the woman I was never meant to be) Yes. I have four. One, I want to be a better mate to Ton. He works very hard to be amazing for me. I figured I should put in just as much if not more effort. Second, I want to learn a new recipe every day. The Tate pack loves to eat and if I don't learn something new, then they'll get bored and start going down to the bar in town to eat. Although I think it might have to do more with the floozy that works there than anything else. Third, I want to be the best...whatever, to our new addition, which means doing a lot of studying and brushing up on...stuff. (Tommy is very good at the whole subversiveness. I'll try to figure out everything from him soon). And fourth, I want to earn enough money to buy these gorgeous Gucci boots that I saw online. Ton absolutely refuses to buy them for me. He says they're not practical for the ranch, but I must, must, must, have them.
I'm a little frightened by the determined glint in Tommy's eyes, but since I know him I know that nothing is going to stop him from getting those boots...nothing.
I also know that because he's Tommy, he's going to look absolutely fabulous in them.
I opened my mouth to wish him a Happy New Year's and ask him what the day meant to him when we both turn towards the sound of Ton's voice. I watch as Tommy's whole body language changes when Ton walks into the room. His body vibrates with happiness and I notice him as he shifts on the chair and know that he must be very, very uncomfortable with his erection. He doesn't say anything about it though and merely leaps from the chair and launches himself into Ton's arms. I watch as the two of them begin making out and feel myself get turned on. I discreetly adjust myself and when the two of them sink to the floor and begin to pull off each other's clothes, I force myself to leave the room...
And find Daniel.
Happy New Year's everyone! From Vicktor Alexander, Tommy Wilkins, Anton Forrester, and the entire Tate Pack clan!!
-Vicktor Alexander
Tommy Wilkins can be found in all three of the Tate Pack books: he makes an appearance in Unthinkable, get to know him in Inconceivable, and watch him explain the meaning of Christmas and family to Maurice, a new mate in A Very Tate Christmas. The next time to see him in something new is an appearance in Howell and Michael's book Unassumed. And then he will reveal his secrets in A Very Tate Valentine's due to be released for Valentine's Day on February 13, 2012.

Why I Write
Lots of authors write for lots of different reasons. Some write because they love writing. Some write to escape their lives. Some write because they get a story that jumps into their mind and won't let go.Some write for the "lucrative" thrill of money and fame (can you hear the sarcasm in my voice? Writing is not the most lucrative career in the world. Most of the writers that I know have secondary jobs or have to put out two or three books a month in order to make ends meet and writing is not a quick process. So those authors are definitely to be commended).Whatever the reason, every writer has a reason for writing. With all of the amazingness that I've been experiencing with my books becoming ARe bestsellers (Unthinkable is now #2-thank you all so much!), I had forgotten why I started writing, why I keep writing. I'd almost stopped writing. As crazy as that sounds, and as much as I appreciated and am humbled by the support and the sheer number of people who bought my books, I couldn't believe that it was happening to me. Of all people. It was happening to me, Vicktor. Then last night I had a nightmare and it reminded me of why I write. In this dream I was an Alpha of a new wolf pack and my beta was a woman that I respected. The more I tried to bind my breasts or tried to "suppress the physical woman" that I saw, the more I saw her. But no one else saw her, they all saw the man. As soon as I stopped trying to suppress "me" to the world's standards and was just myself, then I saw the man that I was on the inside on the outside. We were touring the new pack lands when I heard a young boy screaming and crying. I took off running, with my Beta right behind me, though she'd heard nothing and didn't know what was going on. I raced up the stairs of this barn-turned-house and towards the sound of the young boy screaming and crying. Because my hearing was so acute, I could hear the conversation going on inside of the room (WARNING: This is a very intense and highly upsetting situation, though it's very realistic and happens every, single day).Older Boy: I have to do this to you. It's only until Stepfather makes me a man and then I won't have to do this any more.Younger Boy: Please, no. Stop it. It hurts. Please stop.Older Boy: I can't. Stepfather did it to me too. I'm only doing it so that he won't have to. And it's only until I'm a man.In the dream, I stood outside of the door, with one hand gripping the doorframe and the other hand gripping the doorknob, my entire body shaking from anger, grief, disgust and determination.I woke up screaming and crying myself.I haven't had a nightmare, where I woke up screaming and/or crying for over ten years. When I woke up, I was determined. More determined than I've been in a long time. I remembered why I started writing. I remembered why I keep writing.Every writer has their reasons. Mine is for the young boys in my dream. For other teens who are in at-risk situations. Teens who are members of the LGBTQ community who have been kicked out, who are being bullied. Teens who are drug addicts, alcoholics, cutters, suicidal, engaging in "riskful" behavior.Teens who are transgender and are afraid.Teens who are gay, lesbian or gender queer and are being bullied.Teens who don't think there's a solution.Teens who think that the only way out and the only way for some peace is suicide. They're the reason that I write.I write so that I can get the money, make the connections that I want, get my name out there so that I can build and run the group home that has been my dream since I was an "at-risk" teen myself. The group home that pounds through my veins on a daily basis and has since I was 15 and first got the idea for it.The group home that, besides Daniel and my family and friends, is the reason I wake up every morning. The teen group home that is my every other heartbeat (Daniel is the other ones). That is the reason I write. That's the reason that I'll continue writing. That's the reason that I will shamelessly promote myself and my books and keep writing books that appeal to people. That's the reason that I will keep letting my characters speak to me and through me.And hope that people see the underlying story, the underlying purpose and heart in every story.
That's why I write.
