I Disagree With You So I Must Hate You
(Wherein, I use the word penis and vagina. Sorry if this makes you uncomfortable.)
Please hear me. I’m not writing this post to force myopinion or get into a debate abouttransgender issues.
That’s not what this is about.
The whole transgender/bathroom thing is simply—if I may be cliché—the proverbial straw that broke this camel’s back.
The strawcame in the form of an article.
I must confess, I haven’t actually read the article.
So I guess it’s not the article itself that had my camel-back bre...

Me Before You: One Reader’s Opinion
SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT!
It’s 5:30 in the morning right now. On a Saturday. And thanks to the little dude in the next room who woke me up to inform me that he’d gotten sick all over his bed, I’m awake.
I’m awake and I can’t fall back to sleep.
I can’t fall back to sleep because I keep thinking about this book I finished listening to last night.
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes.
I didn’t like it.
I know. I know. I’m in the total minority. People LOVE this book. I mean, as I sit...

2016: QUIET
2015 was a LOUD year, y’all.
Not only did I have four novels and two novellas release, we went through the ginormous transition of bringing our daughter into our family, and that’s not counting the months beforehand that were filled with horrendous waiting and nail-biting anticipation. Then suddenly, when we didn’t think it possible, she was here, with us.
For anyone who has adopted a traumatized child, you understand well that this transition isn’t just “adding another family member” to the...

The Year in Review
Atthe beginning of 2015, I marked off these words in my Bible and held them close to my heart. Then the year commenced, and a wild ride it has been.
Fair warning: excessive use of exclamation points ahead. Proceed with caution.
The Art of Losing Yourself becamea RTTop Pick!
After a long, hard, rubble-strewn road, we welcomedour daughter home.
Myfourth novel released!
We had to say a very sad goodbye to our Bubba Bear.
We celebrated my daughter’s third birthday on the earth, first birth...

Release Day Giveaway
You guys. Two firsts happened for me today!
One. I have an Amish novella out in the world. An Amish novella, y’all.
I’ve written all my life. Actually, not really. It feels like I’ve written all my life. As soon as I figured out how to string words together on a page, I wrote, wrote, wrote. Stories I rarely finished, but would read out loud to my parents and my Aunt Peggy. Bless their hearts for listening.
Never in all my life, though, did I consider makingone of those stories an Amish story.
