Chocolate Wars With Anya Breton!

Ohh, we've got another guest post this week from our friend and guest regular, Anya Breton.  And she's a cheeky minx because she claims that America makes the best chocolate.  As we all know, Belgium makes the best.  But I have to say, Anya's got a point when it comes to crazy flavours!  So I'll hand you over, and she can tell you about her new release: Guarded Heart.
Americans make the most diverse chocolate.
That’s my argument in this international chocolate debate with a...

Operation Mallory

It's a slightly more contemplative post this week as I join the massive support for fellow indie writer, Stephen C. Spencer, in his relaunch of his thriller novels, the Paul Mallory series.  You see, there are several things that make me sad, and proud, at the same time while I'm writing this post.

First of all sad.  Stephen has had an outstanding military career and then he wrote some brilliant thrillers.  But he has been struck down by cancer and is still battling with this il...

Time Bandits

This week, I talk about the danger of time wasters, eaters of time, the selfish and self-involved, who I have named as Time Bandits.
It’s been a few weeks since I've written a blog post and there’s a reason for this, I've got a bad case of time bandits who are stealing my time.
I don’t know if anyone else has this problem, it’s a bit like procrastinating but the complete opposite.  I know that doesn't make any sense but in my world, for the month of March, nothing has made much sense at all. ...

Goths, Goths, and more Goths...

It's guest post time and this week, we've got the proper clever Mari Biella writing all about the Gothic genre.  So crack open your copy of Dracula and be prepared to be educated!  Mari has just released a new anthology of stories called Loving Imogen and her ghost story The Quickening is really good.
I was quite surprised when my friend LK Jay described my recently-published collection Loving Imogen as “Gothic”. After all, the novella that makes up the bulk of the collection isn't Gothic...

Ashwood House

A new novel and a broken computer.  I’m living the dream folks, living the dream.
It’s been eleven months since my last release, The Ghost Hunters Return , so it’s jolly well about time I brought out another novel for all you lovely readers.  I’ve been too busy letting the day job at the zoo taming lions get in the way of what I really want to do, and that’s write.
So here it is, Ashwood House , a supernatural thriller about an ex-con called Savannah Redmond who gets a job in a house as...

Passive Aggressive Chimps

It’s nearly new novel time and I've got a cover to reveal and dangling modifiers to tweak...
It’s holiday time at the dwarf zoo I work at and I've been making hay while the sun shines.  In English, that means I've had a week off work and I've been giving my new novel a bit of a seeing to.  It’s funny how a bit of time gives you perspective as the last time I read my novel was before Christmas.  So instead of lounging around on the sofa eat...

Life, the Universe and Everything

I've reached the age which, according to Douglas Adams, is the answer to Life, the Universe and Everything.  Problem is, what on earth is the question?
If you have read The Hitch Hikers’ Guide to the Galaxy, the answer to Life, the Universe and Everything is 42.  Which is funny because a few days’ ago, that’s exactly the age I reached.
Unfortunately, I don’t have an improbability drive to take me somewhere interesting with Zaphod Bettlebrox, so it looks like I’m going to have to...

My Bucket List for 2014

There’s a hole in my bucket, dear Liza dear Liza, there’s a hole in my bucket...
We’re three weeks into the year and I’m springing a bit of a leak.  I haven’t really had time to get my act together since the bells rang at midnight and me and Rusty the hamster brought in the New Year with a glass of Prosecco.  There’s been too many things yanking at my chain and now I’m going to have a bit of me time. With this in mind, a friend of mine asked me recently what my bucket list was...

That Was The Year That Was 2013

A year has passed and I’m just a bit closer to claiming my pension.  Only another 30 years to go.  Top Christmas presents included Colin the carrot shaped vegetable scrubber, with whom I’m having a glass of bubbly with, and an egg timer shaped like a pig.  As yet, the pig-timer remains unnamed.  Time seems to have whizzed by but when I look back, I've packed in a lot.
I brought out two novels.  An early one that I rewrote: The Little Camera and the much called f...
