The Seeds are sown
The story of the Lux began when I was thirteen, between me and my best friend. We lived in different states for most of our friendship and this story kept us connected. We sent letters back and forth in the voices of our characters. I was Lissa, she was Hikari. Over the years Lux developed into something real to us, the characters alive and breathing, their experiences, tragedies and training ground, our own.
Now I live in a house full of teenagers. The way they examine life, the things they believe, their worry about the state of our world and their place in it, encouraged me to rewrite this story.
I am remembering what it is like to believe so strongly in something you will fight for it, shout it out in the streets, and even be willing to die for it.
Lux is about all the things that make us alive, that encourage us to dream, to fight, to stand strong. It explores the idea of what we might do with our power if we were indeed limitless.
This book is for you, (you know who you are) and all the young people whose voices are loud and strong and clear.
