Next on the agenda

I made you wait, and now you won’t be able to get rid of me.  Settle in and get comfy.  Pull up a chair.

We will continue to update and add new content to the website, so check back over the coming weeks to see what shows up.

BUT– in bigger news.  Within the next month or so the first three books will be available in an omnibus edition.  You might be asking what that is… I did.  It means they will be combined and sold as one book.  This will be available on Amazon in digital form to begin with.  (You’ll be able to see that it is not a new book in the series because the cover will be distinctly different, so don’t be fooled and think you’re getting a new story if you’ve already read 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3.)

BUT– (again), what I am really excited about… Drumroll please…

The first trilogy will also be released IN PAPERBACK.  So you can hold it in your hot little hands, and sniff the pages if you’re into that, and draw funny little pictures in the margins, and throw it at people you don’t like, and… you get the picture. The paperback will be available exclusively on Amazon when it is released.

I’ll keep you posted on how that develops.  Completely excited.

Thank you again for your patience, your letters of encouragement, and your support of Lux.

A story is only as real as its reader.

Thirty degree weather, enough real blood to negate the need for fake blood, inner demons, cliff edges, costuming, hot lights, endless takeout, and kissing scenes.

In January, we were lucky enough to have a film crew fly in from California, and a cast of thirty gathered in the Arizona mountains and braved the elements to film a production trailer for Lux The Series.

You’ll be able to see the results later this year after the time consuming work of post-production is finished.

Special thanks to Thomas Walling and Payson High School for the use of their theater, the town of Payson, the families that agreed to all this without knowing exactly what they were getting into, Grand Canyon University for the green screen, Rebecca Wiles for catering, our airsofting team for agreeing to be the bad guys, the endlessly patient and far seeing crew, and my amazing, beautiful, wonderful, talented cast who made my dreams into reality.

Truth

If I told you why book four hasn't come out… you'd never believe me.

Truth really is stranger than fiction.

Now let out the breath you've been holding (you're turning blue) and take another one, shallower this time, you won't have to hold it for long.

The Land of the Tesero

I grew up in Arizona, in a mysteriously beautiful land that inspired the setting for the Tesero city.  Part truth, part fiction, this secret canyon has always been a place I retreat to to find that secret center in myself, to dream and create.

Questions Questions Questions- Maybe One or Two Answers

I am getting mail and comments from reviewers about gaps in the story and also about how long this thing could possibly go on. I will try to answer but it probably won't satisfy you.

The gaps are there on purpose because to fill them in would tell you things you aren't ready to know yet. See how sneaky I am? The first book is like a first date, the getting to know you stage. The second book you get a little more and the third, well, now the secrets start to come out, the fears you had in childhood, the things you've failed at… what you really want to become. Lux is all about a slow reveal at just the right time. So if you want to know how Angine rose to power, and how the Tesero acquired their knowledge, and what Connor eats for breakfast… you'll have to wait and see.

The series is intended to be 9-12 installments long. I think I'll make twelve but sometimes a story surprises you and wraps up sooner than you think it will. Books 1-6 deal with the cast you've come to know, and the next six will introduce you to another generation. I will probably take a month or two off after book six so be prepared for a short wait. But you will have completion…and yes, even answers.

I have a few more ideas in the works. You may find some back story on this website or in short novella to help you understand the world of Lux behind the scenes, the things that Lissa, Hikari, and Connor can't tell you.

Just be patient. Breathe. I will give you everything you need.

Soon.

Behind the Eight Ball

I owe you an apology.

I am late to class this month. I ditched and now I have a ton of make-up work to do. We moved to another home, everybody in my family gave birth or got married or something, and I have been running back and forth and in circles.

I have broken my promise to you. So bear with me. Book number four is on its way. This one is very, very important to me. Maybe the most critical installment in the series. And I'm trying something new, writing it from Lissa's perspective. I intend to give Hikari and Connor their own voices too in forthcoming books. I hope you like the shift. That it allows you get into their heads better and stretch out, lie back and see what they are really made of. Here's a secret. I'm in there too.

And I promise you I will deliver.

Now I have to get back to writing.

Because I owe you one.
