Hand-Sewn Ponies by Lucky Hare!

Ladies and Gentlemen, you have GOT to see these PRECIOUS hand-sewn ponies, created by our dear friend Andrea at Lucky Hare!  I asked her for a little information about how she got into sewing them, and I have her response below the banner.  PLEASE take a look at these wonderful ponies and get yourself one today!  =)

One day, I was feeling the creative edge and wanted to make a toy horse for one of my boys.  I cut out the fabric and sewed all day.  That night I posted the picture to Facebook to show my family.  Immediately I had people asking if I would sell one.  That began a craze of hand sewn ponies!  I had so many people interested that I opened a page on Facebook and continued making and selling ponies.

Some are simple, some are elaborate, but ALL are made with love and care.  Each one tells me his or her name while being created.  Come and enjoy the fun shopping and community experience over at Lucky Hare.  You’re guaranteed to at least get a smile or two…..

Giving Away Books!

Ladies and Gentlemen, my library is SWOLLEN with books.  Not just ANY books, mind you.  I mostly have classics, from Alcott to Tolstoy, and everything in between.  On my facebook page, I am randomly giving away some of these books to fans.  I will be doing this constantly, and more often on the weekends.

I will ALSO give away FREE SIGNED COPIES of my novel, “Remembering August” to the fans with the most “referrals.”  All one needs to do is send fans to my page, and they need to post a comment saying who sent them.  I will count ‘em up and award copies here and there.  I have already given away ONE copy, and I have a few more I need to give away at the very least.

But STILL… I am clearing out this Library of mine, and I will put up a picture of a book and randomly draw from “likes.”  Use the button below or any of these links to go to the facebook page.  WIN SOMETHING!

What have we learned, Dorothy?

From this life… from this infinitely short time we have had on this earth… what have you learned? More importantly, what will you do with what you have learned? Will you use the knowledge and wisdom you have gained for the betterment of yourself or your fellow human, or will you use it as an unfair advantage over them?

Tears

“Every tear is precious.  You can never get them back.  You can’t save them, yet they honor the one for whom they are shed.  They are more precious than diamonds, more elusive than pearls, and can break the hardest thing in the world to break:  the heart.”  ~ Rodney V. Earle

Excerpt: Untitled Project

"It's impossible to look into a horse's eyes and claim that they have no soul," Christine always said.  "A horse is capable of so many things, the most wonderful of which is love."

Word of the Day: Vouchsafe

The definition of "vouchsafe" by Merriam-Webster is as follows:

vouch·safe

verb \vauch-sāf, ˈvauch-ˌ\

vouch·safed

vouch·saf·ing

Definition of VOUCHSAFE

transitive verb

1 a: to grant or furnish often in a gracious or condescending manner

b: to give by way of reply vouchsafe an explanation>

2: to grant as a privilege or special favor

Let's see… why did I pick this word today?  Well, I ran across it in a novel of Edgar Rice Burroughs, written in the early 20th Century.  It immediately caught my eye, and I looked it up on my Kindle while reading.  Why doesn't this word get used today?

Word of the Day: Collaboration

Why would I pick this word?  It's just an ordinary word.  Here's Webster's definition for the root word, "collaborate:"

col·lab·o·rate (verb)  \kə-ˈla-bə-ˌrāt\

col·lab·o·rat·ed
col·lab·o·rat·ing

Definition of COLLABORATE

intransitive verb

to work jointly with others or together especially in an intellectual endeavor
to cooperate with or willingly assist an enemy of one's country and especially an occupying force
to cooperate with an agency or instrumentality with which one is not immediately connected

— col·lab·o·ra·tion noun
col·lab·o·ra·tive adjective or noun
— col·lab·o·ra·tive·ly adverb
— col·lab·o·ra·tor noun

I picked this word, because it's something I have been thinking about.  A rather HUGE project.  I won't give any details about it just yet.  Not until the plan is in place, and it nears completion.  Planning stages are fun, but the realization of the project is far FAR off.  I won't even do keywords about the subject, other than "General."
