Bloody Valentine Horror Hop: Excerpt of Hell School: Fresh Meat

Hello lovelies,    I can't believe it has been a whole year since I shared a teaser of Hell school in the last Bloody Valentine Horror hop! Here is another great teaser!    To set the scene: Sam is at her first high school dance. She and her friends are having a great time, and she got to dance with Senior Wes Johnson, who is the captain of the football team and who all the girls drool over.         “I gotta go, Wes. See you,” she waved to him over her shoulder and made a beeline for her group.

Poetry Corner: Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is upon us again, and so the torture begins. The cards go out. The flowers are sent. Chocolates arrive, and everyone says "I love you!"   I just want to scream!   Go away with your sappy poems Leave me out of your bullshit cooing. Don't make eyes and kiss in front of me! I might very well hurl!   Don't give me a box of chocolates; just a pint of ice cream, a good action flick, then leave me to my own devices.   St. Valentine should have been shot with Cupid's little arrow and had

TV series Review: Continuum

Hello Lovelies,   I just finished watching season four of Continuum on Netflix. I have to say, I love that I can binge watch series on Netflix. It really spoils me! Continuum is an interesting sci-fi series with a mind bending time travel theme that confused the audience as much as it confused the characters. At the same time, it was a really fun mind bender!    My favorite character by far was Carl Fonnegra. Yeah, I have a thing for hero cops! He reminds me a lot of Detective Grant Anderson

Book Review: One Night Stan's by Greg Sisco

Genre: Thriller/ Dark Humor Synopsis: Welcome to Scud City -- The Worst Town in America. Scud is the kind of cesspool that's heaven if you want good drugs, dirty sex, and a nightly brush with death, and hell if you want anything else. And of all the decaying brothels and meth-spas in the city of dead dreams, One-Night Stan's is the last place any distinguished human would set foot, the kind of sleazy strip club where the floors are linoleum, the air is cigarette smoke, and the night isn't over

Poetry Corner: Beating the Addiction

Fighting to control  forcing it to wait. Pushing away Losing the battle.   Just one won't hurt. Yet each time risks death. Contemplation. Is it worth it?   Hell yes! Light it up Just one drag. Nausea, world spinning. Another drag, feeling better; Ah, the sweet release!   Cursing my weakness, despising my inability. Why can't I kick the habit? I'll start again tomorrow.
