#SixSentenceSunday The Whisper of Time
My novella, The Whisper of Time, is coming soon to Whisper's Publishing. This week's six come from the middle of the story:The kiss wasflight. The kind of kiss that had magic I hadn't know existed. Or maybe it wasthe kind of kiss that I had known long before but had all but forgotten, likethe scent of roses once they're no longer in bloom. We came apart, the kiss still fluttering in theair between us, but muted now and then it plunged with a heavy thought. Kyle. What was I going to do about Kyle?

Fourth Writing Platform Campaign: Eleven Questions

In the interest of better late than never, I'm going to take up the challenge and answer the eleven questions posted by Claire Marriot
Eleven Questions:
1. Describe your favorite item of clothing.
Tough one to start out on. I love my jeans, the old pair that have been washed a thousand times and are soft as a blankie. I used to have two pair like this. Alas, the other pair was washed to thread.
2. What was the last thing you saw in the theater?
The Artist. Who knew a silent movie could be entertaining? Uggi the dog should win an Oscar for best supporting actor.
3. Write an inscription for your headstone
Nothing like spending a dreary day indoors thinking about headstone inscriptions.
How about: No one's here. If you need to reach me, try the beach. I'll be there at sunset.
4. If you created a brand of cheese, what would it be.
Cheesy cheese. What good is cheese if it isn't cheesy?
5. Morning, noon or night?
Mostly night with an occasional morning. Noon not so much.
6. Name one thing you are too scared to do
I'm not a fan of heights. So it's a tie between sky diving and bungee jumping.
7. If you could inhabit any fictional world, what would it be?
Isn't that what writers do, inhabit fictional worlds? I like the worlds I create because I created them. :) Otherwise, I like going where the book I'm reading takes me. I'm not sure I'd want to inhabit any of them permanently though. Maybe the hundred acre woods. I could hang out with pooh bear and friends.
8. If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?
Enjoy it when it comes by and don't fret when it doesn't. As Harry Chapin once sang: "It's got to be the going, not the getting there, that's good."
9. In your dream house, what would your favorite room look like?
Plushy sink- your- feet- into- it carpet. A huge French door overlooking a downward slope to a lake or a pond. Make that two French doors.
10. Who or what makes you howl with laughter?
Lots of stuff. That's just the trouble. I love the quirky- last week a friend told me about a place that had the world's largest frying pan and I'm thinking yeah, I've got to go there.
11. Make me a cocktail and tell me what's in it.
Mmmm, cocktail.... How about coconut milk, strawberries, some Godiva chocolate liqueur and rum? Excuse me, I've got to go try this....
That's my eleven. As it's late in the game, I'm not going to tag anyone else. But you can check out Claire Marriot's eleven and see who else answered her challenge here.

Guest Spot: Debra Kayn
I'm very pleased to welcome Debra Kayn today. Her new book, Margot's Lawman was released last week.
Thanks for having me here today. Although I've timed my blog visits to coincide withthe release of Margot's Lawman, the 3rd book of the Sisters ofMcDougal Ranch series, I'd like to talk a little about sisters. I've had manypeople ask me why I've written a book about five sisters who live in the smallfictional town of Pike, Montana. I usually tell them it's because I know smalltown, I know country living, and I know families. What I didn't know about is having sisters of my own.I grew up with only having brothers. In my research, I found that havingsisters was a lot like having brothers, except for a few small differences.Sisters are more judgmental.Sisters will cry with you, without trying to fix theproblem.Sisters understand the importance of chocolate andpms.Doyou have a sister? What does she do for you that no one else can? Is having asister different than having a brother? In Margot's Lawman, Margot is the oldest of fivesisters. Here' a little blurb about her story…
It's hard to keep a secret in thesmall town of Pike, Montana, but veterinarian Margot McDougal and sheriff RoyLee Hanson managed to keep their relationship on the sly for months. Margotcares for Roy Lee, but the last thing she needs is to worry about local gossipwhile she's busy running her clinic and dealing with the loss of her belovedfather.
Roy Lee can't wait to tell the worldthat he loves Margot. He respected her decision to keep their affairquiet—until now. It's time for everyone to know Margot is his gal...especiallyRyan Martin, her new assistant. He's formed an attachment to Margot and Roy Leeis sure the city boy's unexplained appearance in Pike means he's up to no good.
Margot just wants to help Ryan fit in,and Roy Lee's jealousy soon drives a wedge between them. A wedge that onlyincreases when Margot is roped into Ryan's secret, too...
You can purchase Margot's Lawman here!
Multi-publishedromance author Debra Kayn lives in the beautiful Coastal Mountains of Oregon ona hobby farm. Her love of animals includes dogs, chickens, goats, rabbits, turkeys, geese, and yes...pigs. The peacefulness of a flowing creek across herproperty provides an excellent spot to read a book on a summer day, goswimming, and catch the ever-elusive fish using a pink sparkly

Beanie's Chicken Parmigiana
In Blueberry Truth, Beanie makes Chicken Parmigiana. It's easy and makes a wonderful romantic meal for Valentine's Day.
Use your own marinara sauce or a good quality store bought sauce. I recommend Rao's, though expensive it's delicious and well worth the cost.

1 cup flour (add salt and pepper it you like)
2 large eggs beaten
1 cup panko bread crumbs
1/2 cup olive oil
Cooking spray
Fresh Mozarella, sliced thin
1/2 cup grated fresh Parmesan
Marinara Sauce
Preparation:
1.Dredge chicken breasts in flour, then dip in eggs, then dredge in panko crumbs to coat.
2. Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees
3. heat olive oil in large skillet
4. Brown chicken breasts in oil, a few minutes a side
5. Coat baking dish with cooking spray
6. Spoon enough marinara in bottom of dish to cover
7. Put chicken breasts in dish. Spoon enough marinara to cover breasts, layer mozarella, and parmesan on top .
8. Cover with foil. Bake 20-30 minutes until chicken is tender.

#SixSentenceSunday Leona on the scene
Hi sixers! I thought it might be fun to share the last six sentences added to my WIP, a romantic comedy called Searching for Superman.
"Mother, please."Conrad's voice had gone up an octave."Oh, for heaven's sake,it's not even loaded." Leona squeezed the trigger. The gun went off with a pingas it dented the police car door. A collective "Oh my God," rose from thecrowd.
