Update: Competition Giveaways - All books have been posted now.
Update 18th Feb 2013 - Please note that the final 11 books have now been posted. Apologies for taking so long to post out.
Dear All
The last competition ended on the 28th January 2012. 29 of the 40 competition winners should already be in receipt of their copy. To those 11 winners who have not received a copy, apologies. I ran out of books, and have ordered more from the publisher. Hopefully I can get the final signed copies out in the next week.
Apologies again

The Lovereading for Kids ad is now online
Please follow the link to the ad:
http://www.lovereading4kids.co.uk/boo...
The review is only a few lines long, which is the case with other books reviewed - short but sweet. The highlights are as follows:
Oldman Brook has created a highly original story that will captivate readers aged 10+... There are some terrific battle scenes and the leaders of the two armies have qualities you will both love and hate but it's the boys themselves that really leave their mark on the reader.

Mr Ripley's Enchanted Books Review
I've got to admit that I was overjoyed, shocked and surprised when I opened an e-mail from my publisher saying that Mr Ripley's Enchanted Books had given the book a great review. You see, Mr Ripley's review quotes are often used by all the big publishers in the UK, so for my self-published book to receive the attention of this particular reviewer is a massive plaudit.
I won't give anything away on this blog post, but the link to the review is below.

!Lovereading.co.uk to feature 'The Wizard of Crescent Moon Mountain' as one of their 'Debuts of the Month' in October
Apart from falling through the ceiling of my daughter's bedroom - yes, it really happened! The Wizard of Crescent Moon Mountain has been selected by Julia Eccleshare (The Guardian Newspapers children's books editor) to feature on Lovereading's Kids section of their website in October.
Whilst details of the review cannot be divulged at present, this
is a massive plaudit for the book, self-published children's books are rarely featured on the site and Julia Eccleshare is a well-respected reviewer of Children's books, giving credence to the story as being a good read.
Other news:
Doodledbooks.com recently sold 20 specially doodled and signed hardback copies in a day. The books featured 'doodles' relating to characters, places or events in the story. Another 40 will be made available via doodledbooks in the coming months. There is potentially a limited edition printing of 40 books being made available in the run up to christmas.
A special thanks to the 42 people who have taken up the gauntlet to review the book, and post their reviews on Amazon, Goodreads etc. The offer of '100 free review copies' still stands, and as such there are 58 free paperback copies available to those open to reading and posting 'fair and honest' reviews.
he school holidays are nearly at their end, it is hoped that the 11 schools who received their 3 free copies will post their verdict on the book in the next few weeks.
More news to follow, over what should an exciting period...

100 Free paperback review copies available
Dear All
I have 100 review copies of the paperback available to interested readers. Unfortunately, of those review copies, I only have 15 to give to those living outside the UK (due to massive postage costs) - 85 will be made available to readers in the UK.
My only rules are that members post their honest but fair reviews on Goodreads / Amazon / own blogs (if you have one) and make the best of effort to post anywhere and everywhere else. I'd like the reviews to come in thick and fast, so would ask that they are posted within 5-6 weeks of receipt.
It would also help if you like children's / YA Fantasy-ish books like Harry Potter, The Hobbit, Lion Witch Wardrobe etc.
Please contact me to register interest via the comments box against this blog or gwh@wizardofcrescentmoonmountain.com
Please note that the full e-book version is free to read.

With books - the first day
I received my copies of the books yesterday, and I've got to say that they look absolutely stunning. The front cover artwork is really eye-catching. Today I sold 46 books to people at work, took a half day and got the book into Waterstones in Hull. I'm going to Lincoln tomorrow to see if I can it into a few bookshops in and around the town.
The www.thebookbag.co.uk review will come onto their site next week, giving the book some much needed advertising. Please check it out later on next week - there will be a competition to win a signed hardback copy.
Remember, you can get your half price copies of the paperback at http://www.troubador.co.uk/book_info....
If you are a member of goodreads, and live in the UK, you also have the chance to one of 5 signed copies of the book at http://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/sho... - this competition is currently pending (it should go live in the next day or two) and ends on the 15th July.

The Bookbag 4 star review, Publishing date & Goodreads competition winners copies
Dear All
The Bookbag have come back with a 4 star review for the book, and both borrow and buy tabs set to 'Yes', after amends were made to the grammar.
The comments coming back were that no errors could be found, which is testament to Leanne's editing.
Whilst I'm unable to publish the full review, the 'What a story this is! will be expanded upon to say the following:
What a story this is! It's no exaggeration to say that whilst you're reading it you see it up on the big screen. ****
A final comment is also being considered for inclusion on the cover.
You might find it shelved near The Hidden World: The Remarkable Adventures of Tom Scatterhorn by Henry Chancellor or Jack Flint and the Redthorn Sword by Joe Donnelly but we think that ''The Wizard of Crescent Moon Mountain'' will be read the most.
The book is now being published on the 20th June. Goodreads competition winners will receive their copies soon after.
