An early review of the book

Below is an early review for the book posted on authonomy, before it was polished. Sharadze was so enthusiastic about the book to post her opinion on the forum. I'll be getting in touch with her very soon. Please check out the first three chapters, which are free, at:

'For lovers of High Fantasy, adventure, a real good read and unforgettable characters, please read this novel in all its glorious fun. It is just absolutely one of the best in this genre that you could find. If you loved the Hobbits, Gandalf and those guys, then you will find yourself grinning all over the place when you read this wonderful story.'

Let me introduce myself

Hi, all Goodreaders

I buy biscuits for a living, my job sometimes feels like I'm in Roald Dahl's, Willy Wonka. Most of the time though, I'm a hard-nosed negotiator, trying to protect consumers from price increases, poor promotional activity, or worse, bad biscuits.

Over the past two years, with what little spare time I have available, I wrote a book. Initially inspired to write a short story for my then 2 year old daughter, it became something more, and 'The Wizard of Crescent Moon Mountain' was born.

The advanced information for the book is, as follows:

Elven boys Finn and Beezle enter a time portal just before their race is wiped out by an otherworldly warrior and his goblin army. Travelling 3,000 years into the future and arriving in snow-filled lands, the boys are saved from the cold by two shape-shifters sent by Greybeard, the wizard of Crescent Moon Mountain.

Out of their time and depth, Finn and Beezle are enlisted to join Greybeard and his friends on a quest to save the world of Everlast from the very same otherworldly warrior. Seeing that Beezle has a talent for magic after an incident with his magical bear-headed staff, Greybeard begins to teach the little elf a few tricks. But a problem arises when Finn comes into possession of a magical weapon capable of defeating the warrior. Little does anyone know the weapon has a mind of its own and wants Beezle as its master...

The Wizard of Crescent Moon Mountain follows traditional fantasy literature themes and characters and borrows some elements from similar works, including Harry Potter, The Northern Lights and Princess Mononoke. Light and dark fantasy crosses over into sci-fi, horror and action; add to that a wide scope of influences and the creation of a new and vivid world in Everlast, and The Wizard of Crescent Moon Mountain makes for a truly original story that will captivate children aged ten years and older. Oldman is inspired by a number of authors including J. R. R. Tolkien, J. K. Rowling and Philip Pullman.
