Tattoo Tuesday - Jacob Hoggard (Hedley)

Things in my mind are not so happy these days and a little slip up of a negative distress tolerance skill yesterday made that very clear to me. When I'm feeling this low, the one thing that helps me and makes me smile is music so is it any wonder that my Tattoo Tuesday is a(nother) rocker dude? :)

Meet Jacob Hoggard - 3rd place in the 2nd season of Canadian Idol - he was a little too hyper and alternative for them. He's a fabulous 27 year old British Columbia boy - which means he's family to me. He fronts a band called Hedley. He's oh-so-hyper, he dances, he bounces, he like to have fun and he belts out every song he has as though his lungs are going to explode. I saw a quote about him that totally sums him up "there's ADD and there's ADHD, then there's Jacob Hoggard." :)  Basically, he's just awesome. I've seen him sing in the pouring raining without hesitation, more worried about his fans than his soaking-wet self. And yes, he LOVES his tattoos. I hope you do too.

So on with the show - may I present Mr. Jacob Hoggard!

Some of the most painful tats you can get are over the ribs - ouch.

Yes - he has a butt tatt. Hed and Ley. Lol.Also, some more private ones. :)

He switched up his look a lot - from baby face to mountain man.

No tats showing but I love this pic.

And it wouldn't be a K-lee post without some music. A couple faves of mine - more ballady, but that's what I need right now.The 2nd one shows Jacob on the piano - he's a total virtuoso.
In the song Gunnin', a young, less-tatted Jacob took on the serious topicof body dysmorphia or eating disorders. Video always makes me cry.

Music Monday - Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

Described as emo or often times screamo, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus made the jump to the more acceptable category of alternative when their first EP was released. I really love their mixed style of music - soft, hard, fast, slow, screamo, and I really love Ronnie Winter's voice.

I do a lot of writing to RJA and they also pick me up when I need a boost. Your Guardian Angel is such a beautiful song and I swear I loved it strictly by the lyrics and sound, before I saw the video that "to me" has homo-erotic undertones. (my son does not agree - "mom, you can just make anything gay, can't you?) ☺

>

When I see your smile
Tears run down my face
I can't replace
And now that I'm strong
I have figured out
How this world turns cold
and it breaks through my soul
And I know I'll find
deep inside me
I can be the one

I will never let you fall(let you fall)
I'll stand up with you forever
I'll be there for you through it all(though it all)
Even if saving you sends me to heaven

It's okay. It's okay. It's okay.
Seasons are changing
And waves are crashing
And stars are falling all for us
Days grow longer and nights grow shorter
I can show you I'll be the one

I will never let you fall (let you fall)
I'll stand up with you forever
I'll be there for you through it all (through it all)
Even if saving you sends me to heaven

Cuz you're my, you're my, my, my true love, my whole heart
Please don't throw that away
Cuz I'm here for you
Please don't walk away and
Please tell me you'll stay, stay

Use me as you will
Pull my strings just for a thrill
And I know I'll be okay
Though my skies are turning gray

I will never let you fall
I'll stand up with you forever
I'll be there for you through it all
Even if saving you sends me to heaven
[to fade]

Suit up Sunday - show me some skin

Okay, okay - not all man-suits are stupid but I'm generally not a girl who swoons from gawking at a well-suited man. I like my men in jeans and t-shirts or well, nothing at all of course. But those men down there - are the total exception.

Welcome to my first Suit Up Sunday. :)

OMG - Dan Skinner just rocks my socks with his photos but this...I swear this will be a cover for me in the near future, no matter who I have to bribe or pay to make it happen. It "suits"my lawyer story to a T... so watch for it, people.

Another by Dan Skinner - think I want this one too.

Okay - I might have cropped Posh out of this. Lol.

Not so much the kid but the suit and body are hot.

I know what you're thinking - "it always comes back to Ricky"- well I guess it sort of does

But then again, I love him covered up, too.
~~ Moral of this Suit Up Sunday - if there's some skin showing, I'd down with the suit ~~

Hop Against Homophobia - Authors' registration

May 17, 2012 is the International Day Against Homophobia and in correlation with that Erica Pike, NJ Nielsen and I are organizing a blog hop, HOP AGAINST HOMOPHOBIA. Registration has already started for authors, publishers and reviewers, and within one day we already almost 40 signed up.

I'm not going to go into the details because it's just as easy to read them here. It's easy-peasy to sign up and will be a ton of fun when it happens. We encourage everyone to pass this link along to authors who might be interested in taking part, then on May 17th everyone will be invited to hop along with us.

Click on the bouncing bunny for registration

Ricky Martin on Glee - beware the hot!

Okay, so technically it's now Saturday so I did not do 3 posts on Friday. Was just heading off to dreamland and yeah, checked Twitter one last time and holy Hell! Gotta post this and I'm hoping someone might now how to rip it or whatever it is you do so I can put it on my iTunes. :) I think the episode is coming up this week - I just may die from the Ricky-ness. "Sexy and I know it" indeed. That boyfriend of his is one lucky man. Love you Ricky.

Flashback Friday - The uber-fabulous PRINCE

Ahhh, Prince, I've loved you for so long.

Prince Rogers Nelson born November 7, 1958

I've seen Purple Rain a bazillion times and I love it more each time. I wore out at least one Purple Rain cassette tape and I have it on CD now, too. Yeah, that's probably embarrassing but hey, it's Prince.

And you know my OCD does not let me do anything half-way - so there's a few videos here if you care to indulge. I had fun finding them too. :)

Prince made purple cool and brought back the raspberry beret.

He made tiny BIG and taught us how to just go crazy and party like it was 1999.

He was about "Sexuality", "Controversy", "Diamonds & Pearls", "Cream",  kissing and dirty minds.

He was and still is awesome.

Freaky Friday - more like just bits and pieces of stuff

It's always nice to start off a Friday with a good pair of legs and a package, right? So happy Friday. This will be my happy post, as opposed to yesterday's which wasn't necessarily an unhappy post but more of a meh-serious one.

Today in the world of K-lee you will find horrifying pics (of me) because they are nice memories I need right now, the beautiful band members of 30 Seconds to Mars, a video I love and the answer to yesterday's question - what song did this lyric come from: "look in my eyes... this is who I really am".

There will also be a new book release date, new cover (standard V-day cover for MLR unfortunately) and a hot new video just out today. So grab your coffee and settle back for a wild ride.

(Now seriously, you can ignore all that crap up there, it sounded good at the time but I will have those things down there - enjoy and comment at your will)

Okay since I know you're all dying—yes, dying—to know what lyric that is, I'm posting the video which is very cool if you haven't seen it before and yes, those legs and package up there ^^ are the same legs as in the video. This song is my go-to song for pacing and general anxiety and panic attacks, and if my family hears it being played on repeat, they automatically know K-lee's having a bad day. So here ya - it's long but fabulous. (and yes, it is a take-off of a very well-known movie)

I finally have a release date and a cover for my Outfoxed - Glitter Fox prequel, Theme of Hearts. It will be released on February 10th (2 days before the day I'd like to forget - much like Gage in the story) by MLR Press. It's a short, sexy story that is more PWP than actual plot but what plot there is tugs a little at your heart - at least I hope it does. It happens before Outfoxed - just so you know.
This --> Theme of Hearts <-- is the Good Reads link if you're into that sort of thing and here is the blurb.

Theme of Hearts (Glitter Fox .5)
Gage Galeano's career is soaring: he has his best friend, lover, and bandmate by his side and Glitter Fox is everything they always wanted their band to be. Their latest concert was a success, and Gage is so high on life he can almost forget it's his least favorite day of the year. Almost.

But Gage's plans to forget the day exists are scrapped when he's enticed into a car by an unusual word. Rylan Rivers knows that Gage hates the dual meaning of Valentine's Day, but he's determined to make this year's dreaded day memorable in a very sexy way.

Love & Patience will be out on February 8 at Less Than Three Press.
You can get it here or in a bundle with 6 other fab stories here and the
Good Reads linky here
Now the blurb:

Love & Patience
One week out of every year the angel Anael spends time in a remote cabin with the human he loves—a human who does not know his lover's secret, who for the last five years has patiently waited for the day that one week might finally become one eternity ...

And finally, the brand-spanking new video from the gorgeous and talented Mr. Adam Lambert. This song is so beautiful and since Adam's in the video, the video has to be beautiful too, right? *nods*(and did you hear, rumour has it Adam will be joining Queen as their lead singer)

Quote: "There's no intention in my mind of replacing Freddie. That's impossible. The way I'm choosing to view it is that it's a great honour and one I'm in no way going to shirk ... Being asked to front Queen is the best thing that can possibly happen." ~~Adam
Link to article on Adam joining Queen
This, if you don't know, is Street Drum Corps. They are made up of two awesome brothers, Adam and Bobby, and an equally awesome Frank. They are high energy and a whole lot of freaking fun, as you might be able to tell from the pic. Lol. They have a lot of different people perform with them - in this vid you may recognize Shannon Leto from the above 30 Seconds to Mars and they can make music from just about anything. They make me ecstatically happy and I was lucky enough to have Bobby Alt's crotch directly in my face at one of their shows. LMAO. This is one of the older performances they did at the Guitar Center's Drum Off.

One last thing - I'd like to do Flash Friday (and no, I don't think it's a flash your junk kind of thing) but I'm not sure how. Do I need to use a prompt from somewhere - anyone know?

This is who I really am

<-- That right there is exactly how I feel - not because of anything anyone has said or done, just because of the spinning of my brain and the malfunction of my emotions and thoughts. If you've never experienced the wrath and instability of depression, you're not only lucky but you can't truly understand the emotions and toil it takes not only on someone's mind but their body as well. And I really hope y'all don't think I'm looking for sympathy when I post about these things, I'm merely venting my feelings a little.

I have clinical depression - have had it for almost 20 years - and certain times of the year are worse than others. Generally the end of August to the beginning of October and the months of January and February. I've done light therapy to see if it's SAD related (seasonal affective disorder) but the light gave me migraines which I'm already very susceptible. Add on top of that my Borderline Personality Disorder or Emotional Dysregulation and you get BAZINGA! double-edged sword of emotions. (I heart Sheldon so hard)

Eight out of the past ten years I have been in hospital in either January or February or sometimes both so that's why I'm trying not to do as the kitteh in the picture is doing - hide. Hiding is the logical impulse in my brain right now - hide so no one can see the pain, so no one has to deal with what's going on inside me, so everyone else can remain blissfully oblivious. Hiding is also one of the worst things I can do at this time of year and when my thoughts are dark and fleeting. So I'm trying very hard not to hide, trying to stay out in the open and if that makes anyone uncomfortable, I apologize. I had someone ask me if I thought it was a good idea to mix my personal thoughts and struggles with my professional (author-related) life and I've given it a lot of thought lately. My conclusion is that there is no way to untangle my personal from my professional because what happens to me personally does affect my writing - it affects how I write my characters, how I torture them and then make them deliriously happy, it affects where a story will go, and it affects what stories I write. After all, authors are just people, aren't they?

Another question that has come up recently is how my friends should deal with this time frame of my year - what is the best way to help me. Unfortunately, no one can help me in that way - not even the meds - but what my friends can do is just keep in touch, give me a little push when they haven't heard from me, keep me out of my hibernation chamber basically. A comment or tweet or email is like an internet hug to me and that's something I'm never against - a hug. That's a lot of responsibility I know and I don't expect everyone or even anyone to commit to such an undertaking but I'm putting it out there so you know that I don't consider it bothering me if you get in touch or if you ask me how I am or even say "wtf girl, get off your ass and talk to me" - lol. Seriously, I would take that with a much-needed smile on my face.

Maybe someday I'll regret sharing too much but right now, this is who I am - take it or leave it. I guess. Or as my tattoo says "Look in my eyes - this is who I really am". Anyone know where that lyric came from - it's probably close to being my #1 song of all time. This is a quiz people. :)

Anyhow, I'm sharing one of my fave songs (nope, not the tat one) and fave bands (nope, not the tat band) with you. I love Staind - Aaron Lewis' voice just does good/bad things to me - and this song is so me it's scary. It's a weird video but very beautiful too.

PS This will be a double blog day again so you will get some good mixed with the morose. :)

PIMPING: blog give-away extravaganzas

There's some wonderful give-aways going on around the m/m net and I just wanted to give you a heads-up on a few that I'm participating in.  Since I have two releases within days of each other I'll be giving away a copy of each here on my blog as well as in the give-aways I'm mentioning. That being said, you'll have a few chances to win both releases and if you don't win, well, you know the drill. <--shameless author begging.

The first one - just started today - is over at my bff's place, Babes in Boyland. The babes are giving away 22 books which includes the entire collection of Kiss Me Quick stories from Less Than Three Press. I've added my Love and Patience to the mix and there are some fabulous stories being given away. So click the pretty banner, hop on over there and give it a shot.

I've also thrown my hat (book) in Valentines' Day blog hop. There are 265 authors participating in that one but not all m/m - I believe it's predominantly het. Hop Against Homophobia will start on May 17 (International Day Against Homophobia) and run until May 20th. This blog hop will strictly be m/m authors and stories which is a definite bonus if you aren't into m/f and don't want to slog through too many blogs to find the boy on boy. :) I'll be posting more information on this later on but if you're an author and want to take part, shoot me an email at kleemoon66(@)gmaildotcom and I can get you the details.

Tattoo Tuesday - Anthony Kiedis

It's my first Tattoo Tuesday so I thought it would be fitting to start with a man I've loved for a whole lot of years and seen in concert a whole lot of times - the stunning, un-aging, Anthony Kiedis from The Red Hot Chili Peppers. (I have a cat named Chili - now you know why)

<--That right there is my first tat and if you don't know what it is it's the RHCP logo - an asterisk that Anthony drew on a piece of paper once with the band's name around in and Bazinga RHCP's logo was born. Anthony has also been known to call it an angel's asshole. Lol.

Anthony Kiedis - born November 1, 1962 (50 years old this year)
His first tattoo was Chief Sitting Bull on his upper right arm.

Followed by Chief Joseph on his left upper arm

Asterisk

His fabulous back tattoo was done in the late 80's

Full-circle bands on each arm were next(a fave pic of mine)

Then Celtic daggers

The tiger was next

The the koi fish

Put them all together and you get...yum.

Tatted man and child *swoons*Everly Bear Kiedis - adorable

Wow - does that hair look familiar or what?

Oops, no visible tats on this one - not sure how it snuck in here

And of course, Anthony Kiedis would not be Anthony without some Chili silly

I swear my next Tattoo Tuesday will not be so long or detailed but he is my Anthony. :)
