Noah Cicero Nature Documentary. Early 2018. House of Vlad Productions.

Here’s a sneak preview to the potential cover of the American version of Nature Documentary, a book by Noah Cicero that I’m publishing next year through House of Vlad Productions.

Danial Ryan was kind enough to let us use one of his amazing paintings for the cover. (Be sure to check out more of his stuff at The Art of Danial Ryan.)

Also, Juliet Escoria, author of Black Cloud (Civil Coping Mechanisms) and Witch Hunt (Lazy Fascist Press), was the first to offer up a blurb:

Nature Documentary contains poems about dinosaurs and the Grand Canyon and God. Which is fitting, because the poems themselves are dinosaur-like, and God-like, and Grand Canyon-like, in that there is something ancient in them, primal, beautiful and a little bit twisted. I just compared Noah Cicero to God. That means you should buy this book.”

E-mail me (brianalanellis@gmail.com) if you’re a writer who does reviews for cool blogs and lit journals and I’ll send over a PDF ARC, k?

And I mean only COOL blogs and lit journals. None of that uncool shit.

MR. SCARY - Talking Book

MR. SCARY - Talking Book:

Check out my Halloween story, “Mr. Scary,” over at Talking Book, which you can read along to while my sick, nasally-congested voice lulls you into a deep, existential slumber. Technology is pretty dope.

I BROKE A TOILET SEAT WITH MY FACE: An Interview with Constance Ann Fitzgerald

I BROKE A TOILET SEAT WITH MY FACE: An Interview with Constance Ann Fitzgerald:

I BROKE A TOILET SEAT WITH MY FACE: An Interview with Constance Ann Fitzgerald

Brian Alan Ellis

I consider Portland, Oregon’s Constance Ann Fitzgerald, along with myself, a co-captain on Team Dumpster Fire. We trade humiliating stories of trauma and drunken buffoonery like they’re baseball cards. Glue, her gripping autobiographical account of a woman raised by mom and dad bikers, is one of the strongest works of literature I’ve read all year. And if that wasn’t enough, homegirl also curates/edits the great Ladybox imprint, which publishes zines and books by female writers like Rios De La Luz, Tiffany Scandal, and Meliza Bañales. She’s punk as fuck, has cool hair, makes zines, and would probably beat the crap out of you. Basically I’d have crushed hard on CAF in high school. In fact, I crush on her now. It’s not every day you befriend someone who’s broken a toilet seat with their own face.
