99 Cent Box Set Featuring Hot Ink is Live!

The box set was put together by Summer Daniels, creator of the popular 'What to Read After FSOG' website and Facebook page. WTRAFSOG has given my books a lot of support, so of course, when I was invited to participate in this box set, my answer was an enthusiastic 'yes'. My thanks to the other authors, Summer especially, for making this happen.

Inked in the Steel City Series Box Sets Have Released

With the 6 main Inked in the Steel City Series books done, the series is now available packaged into halves via box sets. Because the best part of finishing a series (mostly -- you know I'm still planning that 7th extra book) is getting to show off covers again with boxed sets. ;) Okay ... maybe not the best part. But I do think Eric is worth showing off again!Box Set #1 includes Books 1-3, and Box Set #2 includes books 4-6.The box sets can be found at…Box Set #1AMAZON B&NBox Set #2AMAZON B&N

How I Feel When I See Someone Putting Down Women Writers on the Internet (in GIFs)
Romance is the one genre of fiction that's dominated by females. Some people think that this fact makes the genre and the women who write it sub-par, somehow. Sometimes people write whole articles about this, on websites where you'd expect to find relatively unbiased info on the publishing world.
Sometimes, even the article headlines are flagrantly sexist. They might read something like this:
Right then and there, I know...
As I start to read, I quickly come to this conclusion:
At first, I can hardly believe it's happening again already. Has it even been a week since the last article like this made its rounds on the internet?
A part of me can hardly believe it. The whole point of the article seems to be to point out how lazy, selfish and undeserving of success all female writers are, because of their gender. And of course, the author believes we must all rely on men. Poor, poor men who are forced to finance our selfish ambitions.
Another part of me is unsurprised and wants to do this:
And then the author goes and brings motherhood into this. He seems to think having children is a good way to get out of having to ever do work again.
So even though everything the article says makes me do this...
And the author clearly thinks the publishing world should be like this:
...and considers it his duty to define what a woman should be, and what a man should be...
I'm not even going to say anything. Waste of time, right? There's a good chance he's just doing it for the page views and attention anyway, however negative. But then...
I look up at the roof I've managed to put over my head despite the fact that I have a vagina. Then I read the comments other women and men have left on the article, and I'm like...
Then I do this:
Even after I throw in my 2 cents, I'm plagued by a lingering feeling of disbelief...
At this point, if I knew the person who wrote the article in real life, I'd probably pull one of these:
Or say this:
In the end I calm down...
I achieve this by reminding myself that the romance genre, despite being dominated by women, is literally the most popular fiction genre there is. I'm part of a vibrant community of awesome women and men, and we've more or less taken over the world already. Anyone who has a problem with that because they think women are unworthy will just have to...
Seriously, I love the romance community!

It's Officer Next Door release day! You're invited to the Lock and Key Series launch party...

Officer Next Door
How can anyone resist temptation when it’s right next door?Riley County North Carolina has a lot to offer: coastal views as far as the eye can see, and men in uniform who are even more gorgeous. Home to the most notorious prison in the state, Alicia’s new hometown is crawling with men who carry their own handcuffs and know how to use them – like Officer Liam Alexander, her one and only neighbor. After catching him out of uniform, she can’t resist pausing to enjoy the show. When Liam’s Southern charm drives him across the property line, life gets hotter than the Carolina summer could possibly account for. Unfortunately, there’s a dark side to life in the coastal haven, even with an officer next door.Coordinating special events at a historic – and supposedly haunted – plantation is enough to have Alicia questioning her senses and her sanity, but the spirits of the past take a backseat to a pair of escaped convicts who blaze a trail of mayhem across Riley County. Not even the most intense chemistry can survive the perils that make a sunny seaside town a dangerous place to be after dark … can it? Click here to read Chapter 1 Now Just released at…AMAZON B&NComing soon to Apple, Kobo and more.
You're invited to the party!Remember when I said this was the first time I've launched a new series in years? Yeah, well, no way was I not going to celebrate that with a party. If you'd like to join in, just stop by my site. I'm talking men in uniform and giving away some really cool prizes (so cool that I couldn't resist keeping one for myself, and had to order a second. LOL)Here are just a couple things I'm giving away...

New Complete Printable Book List Now Live on My Site
I've received a lot of requests for a complete printable list of all my books. Not sure what took me so long, but I finally put one together. It's live on my site now and can be viewed or downloaded as a PDF. It clearly denotes series, reading order, genre, paperback status, ISBNs etc. for my 20+ books.
Here it (finally!) is.
You can view it online, save it for later, print it out and take it to a bookstore or signing, etc. I tried to make it as simple and easy to use as possible. So there aren't any covers included, but you can still view those on my site. ;)
And if there's anything else useful you'd like to see on my website, feel free to get in touch and let me know. I'll try to make it happen.

Booklovers in the Big Easy - My RT 2014 Convention Highlights in Photos
The RT Booklovers Convention is the romance book industry's biggest annual event, and I look forward to it every year. I just got back Sunday night from this year's RT, and it was my favorite ever. Here are the highlights of my trip in photos.
The best part of RT is always meeting up with friends you haven't seen in a while.Left to right: me, Carrie Ann Ryan
And trying something new, like visiting the ghost table and (creepy) seance room at Muriel's.Left to right: me, Alanna Coca
Or heading out for some fine (not haunted) dining.Left to right: me, Carrie Ann Ryan
In New Orleans, there was plenty to do outside the hotel, around the city...
Left to right: me, Alanna Coca
In the bayou...
...where the gators had a taste for marshmallows.
And fortunately didn't seem interested in a human snack.
I also hung out with the headless horseman float at Mardi Gras World...
...where there were beads everywhere.
And then there was the incredible WWII Museum.
And of course, I signed some books at RT's Giant Book Fair. Thank you everyone who stopped by to see me. ❤
