THE DIAMOND SERIES, BOOK 1
Owner of the Diamond Saloon and Theater, Alice Reynolds is astounded when a fancy Englishman offers to buy her saloon. She won’t be selling her saloon to anyone, let alone a man with a pretty, empty-headed grin…but then, she reckons that grin just might be a lie, and a man of intelligence and cunning resides beneath.
Rupert Llewellyn has another purpose for offering to buy the pretty widow’s saloon—the coal buried deep in land she owns. However, he never banked on her knowing eyes making him weak at the knees, or how his deception would burn upon his soul.
Each determined to outwit the other, they tantalize and tease until passion explodes. But can their desire bridge the lies told and trust broken?

Final snippet from FOOL’S GOLD
Tomorrow’s the day! FOOL’S GOLD is released, and this is the last little snippet:
Ethan stared down at Pearl. Unaware of his perusal, she slept on, her face peaceful and her chest rising and falling gently. She’d pushed the bed covers down to her waist, a wide vee of her skin revealed by the half-opened chemise, trapped and pulled tight by her body. The cloth had fallen sometime in the night, and the light from the lamp hit the tinsel on her Christmas tree, throwing color and spangles over the creamy flesh. An insane urge rose within him, an urge to see if the colors would change the flavor of her.
Ignoring it, he looked at her, just looked. He’d had occasion to do so before, of course—her presence in the Spectaculars was nothing if not an invitation to stare—but he’d never seen her as she was now, utterly relaxed in sleep. Fiery red curls tumbled over the pillow—an improbable shade of red he’d always admired—and her brow was free of the frown she usually wore in his presence.
Lord above, the sight of her sleeping next to him was about the prettiest he’d ever seen.

Snippet no 3 from FOOL’S GOLD
So close to release! FOOL’S GOLD is coming (January 9, peeps) and here’s another snippet to celebrate:
Coming before her, he raised his hands to her shoulders. “I’m not saying any of this to be contrary, Miz Pearl. It’s just…I find you…interesting.”
She looked up at him. “Do you?”
The corner of his mouth lifted. “Yes, ma’am.”
Feeling stupidly shy, she lowered her gaze only to be confronted by his bare chest. His beautiful, broad, golden chest. His second half weren’t any more decent, modesty preserved only by the drawers he’d pulled up loose about his hips. Her mouth dried at the display of his beauty, and even more stupidly, a fire burned again in her cheeks.
“Are you blushing?”
The incredulity of his tone had her gaze snapped to his. “What? No.”
“You are blushing!” Delight lit his face. “Why? I can’t have anything you haven’t seen before.”
She scowled. How was it he had her blushing, and so easily besides? “Contrary to popular opinion, I’m not one to make a habit of inviting men to my bed.”

Another snippet from FOOL’S GOLD
It’s another snippet from FOOL’S GOLD! Gosh, the anticipating is mounting. I reckon a knife or some sort of cutting implement could sever it…
Exhaling, Ethan turned his Stetson again in his hands. Christ, was there ever a man more fool than him?
He turned his contemplation to her. Still she sat there all stern, determinedly not looking at him, like there was a point to such when, in truth, they were stuck in the saloon together until the blizzard saw fit to break. Might as well make such moments pleasant. “Miz Pearl, it seems to me we’ll be spending a good while together as the wind out there howls. Perhaps we could pass the time with kind words and conversation.”
The grip she had on her hands tightened, though her face lit with a flirty smile. “What could we talk of, Mr. Garrett? Would you like to know the best way to kick your petticoats so as to display your limbs all the way to the thigh?”
The image of her baring her legs in such a manner flashed though his mind. Heat rushed through him, tightening his skin. “Maybe we could start with something less titillating.”
“Less titillating? My, I don’t know if my mind is wired in such a way. Hell, what is a less titillating subject?”
Images of her naked legs still dancing about, he cleared his throat. “Perhaps the weather?”

Snippet from FOOL’S GOLD
The release date for FOOL’S GOLD is very, very near (January 9, peeps!) and to celebrate, here’s a little snippet:
A sudden chill took her, though Pearl knew the boiler to be working just fine. Wrapping her arms about herself, all she wanted was her bed. It might be mid-afternoon, but she could think of nothing better than winding herself in blankets and enjoying a whiskey while perusing the latest French catalogs Alice had sent her from Paris.
Determinedly, she started for the stairs. Just as she set foot to the first step, a pounding started at the Diamond’s doors, so hard they shook.
She whirled around, her heart in her throat. Christ almighty, but that was a fearsome sound. Loud enough to rattle her teeth, and forceful besides.
The pounding began again, the doors trembling under the strength of the knock.
Hell and tarnation. She couldn’t leave the poor soul out there to freeze.

Ten, nine, eight.
I guess now is a time for looking forward, though. I’ve got bits and pieces in the works, the most exciting of which is…exciting segue coming up, peeps…
FOOL’S GOLD, book 2 in The Diamond Series, will be released January 9, 2013!!!
I’m so excited about this. I do love this story, a wonderful Christmas tale featuring secondary characters from ROUGH DIAMOND.
Seven, six, five.
