The Holy (AFL) Grail
As anyone who follows me on Facebook knows, I’m a bit obsessed with AFL football. My team, Port Adelaide, were hot favourites to reach the Grand Final this year, but a shocker of a season saw us finish ninth on the ladder and completely out of contention for the finals, which comprise the top eight teams (ie, those with the most wins).
At the weekend, the preliminary finals determined the two teams that will compete for the 2015 Premiership Cup – Hawthorn (again – boring as) and West Coast (not as boring). The Grand Final is always held on a Saturday afternoon and, until recently, it was always the last weekend in September. The addition of two clubs to the competition has resulted in the home-and-away round being longer, which has pushed the Grand Final into October. And this Saturday is the day, peeps.
I’ve never been to a Grand Final. I would love to attend one, and if I’m ever given the opportunity, I will leap upon that sucker. And, needless to say, when Port reach the the Grand Final (fingers and toes next year fingers and toes) I will be there faster than you can say “with bells on”. However, the southern parts of Australia (and some parts of NSW and Qld) stop for the Grand Final. It’s actually a great time to go shopping or go on a country drive 
As for me, I’ll be watching. I don’t particularly care who wins, although it would be nice if West Coast got up simply because Hawthorn have been so dominant in recent years. Give someone else a go, I say!
And then footy is all over red rover. Sniff. However shall I occupy myself until next year?

From the shadows
Hi peeps,
Hmm. This year I had grand plans that I would post to the blog at least once every week. I kept to that for a while, and then poof. Nothing. Bad Cassandra.
Anyhoo, I’m emerging from the shadows to say hey, I’m still here! I’m working on SILK & SCHOLAR and having a lot of fun with Christopher and Etta. That Christopher, he’s such a saucy minx and he absolutely delights in teasing Etta, to the point where she simply has to grab his delectableness and kiss him silent…ahem. So yeah. It’s going well!
In other news, SILK & SCORN has been released as an audiobook, read by the wonderful Ana Clements. Ana will be narrating all the books in the Silk Series – she’s already done a bang-up job on SILK & SCANDAL and SILK & SCARS is currently in production. Get thee to Audible, Amazon or iTunes to have a listen, or check out a sample on SoundCloud.

Jennifer: Likewise. There have been a lot of changes in both of your lives lately, first with the trip and finding a new love, then with the move, and the transition with Jayden. How are you both coping?
Jenna: *fans face* I promised myself I wouldn’t get emotional. Um, the trip Sam sort of surprised me with to Ireland was the best thing I could have ever hoped for. After all, if it hadn’t been for Sam I’m not sure I would have ever met Brady. And, Jayden loves him almost as much as I do. Plus, I think the move helped us to move on. There were too many memories I’d much rather not live through again, you know? But, maybe Tyler will come around one day.
Sam: I think what Jenna is trying to say is that we’re all coping pretty well. Yes, she misses Tyler, and of course Jayden does too, but they’re both happy now. I see it on a daily basis, and I love my beautiful little God child, Jenna and Brady have blessed us with. And, as you cansee I’m coping very well too. *she rubs her visibly pregnant belly* Caleb and I will have a playmate for Shelby in a few short weeks.
Jennifer: Congratulations to you both. Married life certainly suits you. Jenna I’m assuming Shelby is the daughter you and Brady share together?
Jenna: She is *smiles*
Jennifer: And, Sam, do you and Caleb have any names picked out for your little one?
Sam: *laughs* is that your subtle way of asking me if we know the sex?
Jennifer: I suppose so, yes. *shrugs*
Sam: Melina Jenna O’Connell actually. We’re having a girl. *grins* A little girl so Shelby will soon have a playmate to enjoy. Hopefully they’ll be the best of friends like Jenna and I are, and Caleb and Brady.
Jennifer: Congratulations again. I think it’s wonderful that two best friends married two best friends. So where are these men of yours today?
Jenna: Brady’s got Caleb practicing. *laughs* They’re with the children to give us a moment with you.
Jennifer: And to yourselves of course. So tell me, Jenna, how does it feel to have your story finally told? Yours is a unique one.
Jenna: That it is. I think you did a great job with it, and Brady was the best part. Although, I blush every time I get to the intimate parts. Sam gets a kick out of it, and makes sure to tease me. God love her.
Sam: Oh, I do not. *laughs* Although, I do crack up every time I read about the time you walked in on me and Caleb. *Sigh* he’s delicious isn’t he?
Jenna: *eye roll* He’s no Brady, but yes, Sam, Caleb is a very good looking man.
Sam: Well, of course Brady is a dish too. You and me did good Jenna.
Jennifer: *chuckles* The two of you are great.
