Off to Milford

Off to Milford

I leave tomorrow for an overnight road trip to Delaware to see what there is to see.  Looking forward to some fresh brain input.  Hopefully, I’ll have some nice photos to share with you.

Counting Down to Milford

Counting Down to Milford

The destination.

6 days and counting until my road trip to visit Milford, Delaware, which is supposed to have an active artists’ community.  I can’t wait to hit the road, even if it’s only for one nigiht.

I’ll keep you posted.

Book Review: A Perfumer’s Secret, Adria J. Cimino

2-CoffeeBeans-forKey

The basic story line is that a professional perfumer in New York finds out that she has an inheritance from a relative she doesn’t remember in France.  Zoe travels to France and finds out that she has an entire family that her French mother never mentioned.  Since her mother is dead, she doesn’t have the answers to many questions and goes in search of missing pieces of her mother’s life.  The common thread of all the characters is trying to find Zoe’s dead mother’s special perfume formula, which has been stolen multiple times, or possibly have enough “nose” to reproduce it.

I didn’t care for any of the characters in this book, so I didn’t care how their stories ended.  I read through the book because I cared more about the missing formula and the recreation of the perfume.  The characters were all mean, petty, and self-absorbed.  The quality of the writing wasn’t good enough for me to try a different title from this author.

This book is only for die-hard lovers of chick-lit.

This book WILL BE PUBLISHED in May 2016.

Good Wishes

Good Wishes

This is just a quick note to wish all my Christian readers a Happy Easter, and wish my non-Christian friends a Happy Sunday.  Either way, enjoy the day.

My Deaf Dog

My Deaf Dog

My husband and I have been having a debate recently about our elderly dog, Ranger.  I said she was going deaf.  My husband’s (incorrect) argument is that she was just a snob who has been ignoring us.  Per our weekend visit to the vet, it’s official.  Ranger is going deaf.

I found some nice youtube videos that show how to teach dogs sign language, so it’s time to study up.  We’ll also teach our younger dog sign language while we’re at it.  It coudn’t hurt.
