Review for The DOATZ

DIARY OF A TEENAGE ZOMBIE

Prior to reading Diary of a Teenage Zombie by author Kristy Berridge, she had already become my favorite author after reading all three of her books from The Hunted series. Her ability to keep me entertained throughout the entire book is uncanny. She injects a continual dialogue from her main character, Katie Palmer, that kept me immersed. This is clearly a Horror-Comedy genre book, but its uniqueness will have you guessing, cringing, and definitely laughing throughout. The book is written in the 1st person by the main character and zombie-human, Katie. This girl has the funniest mind, sense of humor, and yes, a little bit of a potty mouth, that will keep you entertained better than I can describe.
I have never read a book in my life that kept me laughing, giggling, or smiling from the opening page. Actually the opening sentence! Even the "horror scenes", as graphic as they sometimes were, will have you oohing and laughing at the same time!
The best way to summarize THE DIARY OF A TEENAGE ZOMBIE would be to imagine comedienne stars Kathy Griffin or Sara Silverman playing the part of zombie Katie Palmer in full standup comedy mode. What a show!
Beautifully written and worth many times more than its cost! This is an ABSOLUTE MUST READ whether you like zombie books and movies or not! Just order it!!!

Review for The Aligned

THE ALIGNED

I have just a completed THE ALIGNED,which is the 3rd edition in Kristy Berridge's THE HUNTED series. Before ordering the 1st one, I was rather bored with vampire and zombie books, and thought I would try it once more. And am I glad I did! I can best describe Kristy's writing style as unique and the most the entertained I have been while reading any type of category in a long time. The way the author combined horror, intrigue, lust, and humor is amazing. The main character is named Elena Mannory, vampire, and I can best describe her as having the personalities of a Marylin Monroe combined with Kathy Griffin. She is a reader's paradise. The story itself is certainly not based just on blood and guts, but it has a storyline that will keep you wondering throughout. I give the entire series, including the third edition, THE ALIGNED, a definite 5 Stars. A must read for sure!

Review for The Damned

THE DAMNED

Author Kristy Berridge continues to amaze me with her unique and entertaining writing style. The Damned is a perfectly written second edition in her THE HUNTED series. Kristy meticulously developed the personalities of all the characters from the first novel, and continued to grow my feelings toward each of them. Some in nice way, and some not so much. But either way, in a method that kept me guessing and hoping what would happen to each of them as the story progressed.
I have never read a book that more masterfully combines humor, romance, horror, and suspense. The Damned will literally have you giggling, laughing, cringing, and tearing up; and all within a plot that will keep you guessing and involved from beginning to end.
I know there is a third edition that will be released in the future. It is already on the top of my list for books to read.
I highly recommend The Damned and the enire The Hunted series for all readers 14 years and up. I am sure it will be the best reading decision you will make this year. Pure entertainment!!

Review for The Hunted

THE HUNTED

Not too long ago I was looking for a horror-comedy book to read. I was beginning to get tired of the rather lame efforts of this genre that has saturated the book and movie industry. But luckily, I was told by a trusted source of a young author named Kristy Berridge that had written a totally unique format of this book genre. I ordered it and the rest is history.
I was pleasantly surprised that it is also a wonderful story that has a plot that kept me deeply involved right from the opening page. The story is told in the 1st person by the main character and heroine, Elena Manory. It is so easy to read and follow effortlessly! As with all the characters in the book, Ms. Berridge did an amazing job at developing Elena's personality to the point that I actually felt a close bond to her. Just amazing!
Elena won't be winning the Miss Hospitality award at any Miss America pageants anytime soon, but her quirkiness, sarcasm, bit of a potty mouth, but incredible charm, will definitely have you feeling delighted whenever she is around.
Although I was disappointed when I finished THE HUNTED, I was really happy to learn of the upcoming sequel(s) that were coming in the near future.
If there was ever a MUST READ, this is it! It is worth many times more than you could ever pay for it

My reason for Writing

Kristy Berridge Like most kids, I didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grew up. I had grand plans of course, never expecting that my life would evolve so much that I would one day become a supernatural fiction writer. But now that I am, I get to live in a world of make believe, fulfil fantasies, and kill off perfectly despicable characters.
I’ve always been intrigued by the horror genre, peeking between my fingers at an early age, fascinated by the characters played out on film and television. Natural progression and a love of reading saw me picking up supernatural books, enjoying the whimsy and downright gritty context within. I started to wonder if this was something I could do, to pen a book filled with characters and plots that have long since captured my attention.
So one day I did.
The Hunted started out as a bit of fun. I sat down thinking that surely someone will laugh at me. Surely everyone will think I’m mad for believing I could be a writer. But I guess sometimes the ‘what if’ wins out and you do something completely outside of the box, something that fulfils you and pushes you in a way that nothing else has.
Words started to flow, my ideas thick and fast. Certainly not all of them good, but nevertheless, my fingers got a work out, flying over my keyboard, barely able to keep up. I was like a woman possessed. I couldn’t seem to get enough of this make believe world I’d created. I started to feel like the characters were real, that their thoughts and actions were based entirely on the events surrounding them. I laughed with them, I cried with them. I even pulled funny faces when someone said something offensive. I think I left a little piece of myself within the pages.
The Hunted was created from an idea, but its success lies in the reader’s interpretation. I wrote the book hoping to achieve something beyond the ordinary. I wanted people to join me in this world of relatable characters and often confronting imagery. I’ve always been drawn to strong female leads and the need to not silence the violence, so hopefully to those that take this journey with me understand why I leave no detail unexplored.
To those that say the vampire genre has been overdone, please take a closer look. Nothing in Elena Manory’s world is what it seems. She may be destined to become a vampire on her eighteenth birthday, but what if fate had changed everything? What if those she loved and trusted were to betray her?
Follow her on a journey that’s often gritty and emotionally jarring. Meet vampires that aren’t afraid to use their fangs and werewolves that shape-shift at will and destroy human life at a whim. Discover magic and the mysteries of the human condition—learn that the greatest enemy of all can be the one person you put your faith in.
I invite you all inside my head, to unravel the mystery and yearn for more—be afraid of nothing and accomplish everything. Happy reading!

Author Review

***Here's an Interesting Review I Found***

I think Kristy Berridge is being overly modest about her work. She is a brilliant writer. I read to be entertained, and she has far exceeded my expectations. Her story and method in which she develops them is wonderfully unique. I have to admit that I am happy to be addicted to her writing.

Her ability to keep me entertained throughout the entire book is uncanny. She injects a continual dialogue from her main character, Katie, that kept me immersed. It can best be desribed as a combination of Zombieland, The Shining, and The Exorcist all into one package. It can be shocking, funny as heck, and with just a touch of romance. Brilliantly written! I give this book a huge 5 STARS. An absolute must read.
