Ruby Reprise: Writing Thru the Christmas Crazies
I’ve shared this post with y’all last year, but it can’t hurt to hear it again. If you’re like me, you struggle to sit down with your work in progress during the busy, busy holiday season. So I thought it would be fun to share some coping strategies once more. I’ve added my 2 cents worth for 2013 near the end. :) Happy Holidays, everyone!
It’s December, and we are currently knee deep into the annual holiday season. As women, we are usually the ones responsible for the planning and plotting tha...
Twelve Days of Short Stories
On the fourth day of December, Amazon gave to me…
Okay, so it’s nowhere near as sexy as Jeff Bezos’ 60 Minutes interview the other night where he talked about drone-delivery of packages, but Kim Law, Diane Kelly, Lindsey Brookes, Liz Talley, and I have some big Amazon news nonetheless!
(By the way, does theidea of unmanned robots flying through the air and drop-shipping packagesfreak anyone else out as much as it does me? Maybe it’s because I live in the DC area, but I have visions of getting e...

WRW has this fantastic game called American Author, where b...

NaNo: Confession Time!
If you’ve been stopping by this site lately, you know I gleefully (okay, maniacally) joined over 300,000 writers around the globe taking part in the annual frenzy of National Novel Writing Month, vowing to write 50,000 new words of a novel in 30 days.
I’ve won NaNo before, in 2009 and 2010. But for the past two years, I’ve failed rather pathetically.
I went in with deep humility, really not sure if I was...

Make Yourself Some Ruby-Red Cranberry Sauce!
Instead, we’re going with something a little saucy. Something sweet, tangy, and bright ruby red–very appropriate, coming from this blog.
It’s a 5-star favorite from AllRecipes.com: Cranberry Sauce Extraordinaire!
Enjoy!
And while y...
