Inelia Benz – Reconnecting with Gaia’s New Paradigm
In the last post, I introduced a video that gives a good picture of where advanced science is today in its view of consciousness and energy. It explores the implications for a richer understanding of mind, matter, and spirit. The video tells the story of the new paradigm that is coming, a new way of thinking. It’s one in which we begin to realize the full implications of Einstein’s proof, E=mc². Everything is energy.
In the video below, Inelia Benz states that the earth’s vibration has moved to a new level. She teaches that as physical beings, we need to adjust to this new vibration if we are to maintain connection with Mother Earth. She gives a meditation to help the listener begin that process.
It’s a meditation to help us become aware and attuned to our nature as a physical being and soul incarnate.
It’s a meditation that really needs to be done more than once.

Secrets of Mind Science
For anyone who has a serious interest in energy and consciousness, this is a video worth seeing. It’s long, and may need to be viewed in segments, but it offers information and models about ourselves as energy and about energy interactions at levels most people are not aware of. This is not a video offering final answers. However, it presents in a clear and understandable way the advanced science and thinking that is going on in these areas of mind, matter, and consciousness.

From Brain to Mind to Soul: An Interview with Eben Alexander M.D.
The near-death-experience is probably one of the most documented and studied phenomenon in what we would call the field of the paranormal or parapsychology.
Taken altogether, the evidence points unmistakably to the survival of consciousness beyond physical death. At the same time, the overwhelming evidence for the existence of these realms is ignored by mainstream science, government, and media. From my point of view, the silence is becoming deafening.
Dr. Eben Alexander’s book, Proof of Heaven, about his own near-death experience, is one of the latest accounts of a near-death-experience. What makes this account special is that Dr. Alexander is a neurologist with twenty-five years of experience. His entire career has been focused on the brain and its functioning. Before his experience, his basic assumption was that the brain gave rise to consciousness. Following his experience, he had no doubt that consciousness is primary.
I’ve not read the book yet. It’s next on my list. I have listened to several interviews, however, and the Coast2Coast interview with George Noory is the best I have heard. Dr. Alexander is quite articulate and he talks about the boundaries between brain, mind, and soul in very clear language and thought.
The interview can found below or here on youtube. It is the first two parts of a four-part program and it starts about ten minutes into the first segment.
Here is the Introduction to the show posted on Coast2Coast.
In the first half, neurosurgeon for the last 25 years, Eben Alexander, M.D., discussed his transcendental Near-Death Experience (NDE), in which he was driven to the brink of death and spent a week deep in coma in 2008 from a severe case of bacterial meningitis. In contrast to many other NDEs, his memory of his life on Earth was wiped out during his experience. He first went into a long period of being in a dark, murky place with the sense of roots or vessels around him, and a monotonous pounding sound. “It was from that that I was actually rescued by a floating, very fine white light,” that had a beautiful melody, he said. From there, the spinning light opened into a lovely, verdant valley with butterflies and flowers, and a beautiful girl, whom he later learned was like his guardian angel. This area turned out to be a gateway, where he first recognized “the divine creative power beneath it all.”
He felt a sense of love, and then traveled out to the universe, into “an infinite cold black void that was filled with that love, and also had this brilliant orb of light…There was this awareness of three of us, that divine infinitely knowing and loving creative source whom many would call God, this brilliant orb of light, and then my consciousness which was far beyond the consciousness of any individual,” he detailed. During the experience, Alexander was told that he would be shown many things, but he was only there temporarily, and would eventually be returning to Earth. After his recovery, one of his conclusions based on his NDE, was that neuroscience is very far from understanding how memory works, “and I now believe that a lot of memory is actually associated with processes that are outside of the physical brain and physical universe.”

The Soul’s Journey on the Silk Road

Carol Leigh Rice, M.A.
I have been away from this blog now for a good while – since before I left for London. I sent out a brief update to those on my email list about the conference and workshop. If you are interested, you can read that here.
I’ve been trying to pick a place to jump back in after this lengthy hiatus. I think I came to that place this morning. I received a notice that someone had pinged my blog, meaning they had posted something referring back to my page. As administrator of the blog, I had to approve or disapprove it. So when I clicked on the link I was taken to an article by Carol Leigh Rice, M.A., posted yesterday entitled, Synchronicity, Trickster, and the Higher Self.
When I returned from London, I saw that Carol had left several comments about my book and a couple essays I had written. It was all very complimentary (which, of course, is always nice to hear). I wrote Carol thanking her for her thoughtful comments. I also began exploring Carol’s website, Silk Road Visions. In her article yesterday, Carol talked again about my book, this time as it related to the higher self. Her description told me that she knows the territory, and she describes it so beautifully. I recommend the entire article. She has some very insightful things to say about the Trickster.
So I wanted to thank Carol for her public support and her comments. I am glad when someone recognizes in my work the same thing they have come to know through their own experience. Second, though, the main reason for bringing up Carol is that I want to recommend her to you. All I can say is, in exploring her site, Carol offers such insight, wisdom, and compassion that I am sure you will feel it. As she herself puts it – a place where your soul can rest and be refreshed along the Silk Road.
“Along the ancient Silk Road the caravans paused for rest and refreshment at caravanserai, places of fresh water, ringed by large date palms. Here, travellers could rest their camels, compare maps, settle some accounts, embrace old friends, and exchange news of the times. A good night’s sleep and another dawn, setting out on the Road again.
Carol’s article starts below and continues at her site.

Silk Road Visions
Musings on Soul-Centered Healing (2010) by Dr. Thomas Zinser and his discovery of the Higher Self. More thoughts on Carl G. Jung, the Higher Self and synchronicity - and a warning that Trickster can masquerade as the Higher Self.
A hallmark of my writing here at Silk Road Visions is my emphasis on allowing self-healing and personal growth to proceed in its own way, and in its own seasons, under the guidance of one’s Higher Self.
It is always nice to have this viewpoint supported by the work of another. In Soul-Centered Healing: A Psychologist’s Extraordinary Journey Into the Realms of Sub-Personalities, Spirits, and Past Lives, Dr. Zinser recounts how he went from being a clinical psychologist working with hypnotherapy in a non-spiritual framework to one in which he came to understand Soul, and discovered the Higher Self of his clients to be the key to overcoming many issues related to blocking and other stalemates in the healing process.
Dr. Zinser was working with dissociative identity condition (what used to be called Multiple Personality Disorder). He already knew that therapists sometimes encountered what was known in the field as an ISH (Inner Self Helper) but this had not been more than a peripheral recognition until his work took on new dimensions with the Spirit Guide Gerod. As he opened to new spiritual possibilities in psychology, his work blossomed. What he found startled him. He began to understand that if he asked for help, a “someone” – not a “something” – did come forward to help but eventually he realized that this “self” was much more than a helper-alter. He realized that this vast, expansive and above-the-fray self was really a “Higher” Self who was not organically involved in the inner dynamics among the alters of a multiple self, but was able to be, in a healing, guiding way, when called upon for help. Healing Power of the Soul – A London Conference.
On June 3, 2012, the Spirit Release Forum is sponsoring a day-long conference in London entitled: Working With Soul Consciousness: For Health, Healing and Wellbeing.
The idea for the conference came from David Hughes, the director of SRF. David contacted me after the publication of Soul-Centered Healing and invited me to be the keynote speaker for the conference, followed by a one-day workshop on Monday. The focus of the conference is on recognizing that each person is a soul, and that the soul can be a powerful and active resource in healing. Catherine G. Lucas, founder of the Spiritual Crisis Network and consultant psychiatrist Dr. David McDonald will also be speaking.
For those in the London vicinity, I invite you to join us at the conference. It is sure to stimulate your thinking about who we are as souls and what that means in everyday life. You can find the registration and conference information here. Just scroll down the page.
I am looking forward to my visit to London and the conference. It is always nice to be in the presence of kindred souls. – Tom Z

New Release – Soul Awareness: A Guide’s Message
I want to announce the release of a new book, Soul Awareness: A Guide’s Message. For those who are familiar with Soul-Centered Healing, you know that this approach to healing grew out of my 14-year collaboration with a spirit entity named Gerod.
Gerod was channeled by Katherine Mackey and by the time our collaboration ended, I had had over 650 sessions with him. During that time, Katherine channeled Gerod in private sessions with individuals and occasionally for group sessions. Katherine also communicated with Gerod herself through automatic writing.
Soul Awareness: A Guide’s Message is the result of a series of these sessions that Katherine had with Gerod. The book was Gerod’s idea and he communicated it to Katherine chapter by chapter. She and her husband, Gary, have done the organizing, editing and formatting in order to bring the book into print. (Now available as an e-book also.)
The chapters are short essays that cover a whole range of topics. Gerod writes from a soul perspective and invites the reader to step into this perspective as well, to try it on and see how it fits. It may take more than one reading though. As we know, ego-consciousness has trouble grasping this perspective and understanding the self’s essential relationship to the divine. I think the reader who opens to Gerod’s words will resonate with his message and the deeper truths within.
You can order it through the Amazon link below or through most booksellers. – Tom Z

Cyborg Technology and the Soul

This is a fascinating story of a color-blind artist who learned to hear color. It may take a moment to comprehend what this would mean to you. It would be a real flip in perception. It's kind of like the optical experiment where someone wears glasses that turn everything upside down, but within days – maybe hours, I don't remember – the subject begins to perceive everything as right-side up†again. Somehow the brain overcomes the distorted lens and re-establishes a perceptual frame in which the perceiver's feet are on the ground.
Neil Harbisson, colorblind his whole life, asked†Adam Montandon, a student in cyborg technology, if he could help him create something that would enable him to hear color. They came up with a simple device made up of a webcam, a computer, and a pair of headphones and created software that would translate any colour in front of Neil into a sound.
The greater significance of this as you read the story is Neil's comment, "There is no end to the evolution of this electronic eye." Maybe it will translate touch into sound, or smell into touch, or heart rate into color, 0r emotional range into music. In the end, it is the perceptual translation of a vibration from one medium to another. Maybe we also will be able to know the color, tone, taste, and feel of our higher self and soul. This is related to synesthesia, but implies much more.
I will talk more about this in an upcoming post. For now, Neil Harbisson's translation of color into sound is another dramatic example, ala Einstien, that "everything is energy." It would make sense, then, to identify what are healing vibrations and translate them into several perceptual modes. This is already being done to some extent with music therapy and art therapy. The question is whether technology can be used to enhance the healing vibrations even further or deeper for the individual.

The man who hears colour
Artist Neil Harbisson is completely colour-blind. Here, he explains how a camera attached to his head allows him to hear colour.
Until I was 11, I didn't know I could only see in shades of grey. I thought I could see colours but that I was confusing them.
When I was diagnosed with achromatopsia [a rare vision disorder], it was a bit of a shock but at least we knew what was wrong. Doctors said it was impossible to cure.
When I was 16, I decided to study art. I told my tutor I could only see in black and white, and his first reaction was, "What the hell are you doing here then?" I told him I really wanted to understand what colour was.
I was allowed to do the entire art course in greyscale – only using black and white. I did very figurative art, trying to reproduce what I could see so that people could compare how my vision was to what they saw. I also learnt that through history, there have been many people who have related colour to sound.
At university I went to a cybernetics lecture by Adam Montandon, a student from Plymouth University, and asked if we could create something so I could see colour. He came up with a simple device, made up of a webcam, a computer and a pair of headphones and created software that would translate any colour in front of me into a sound.

If we were all to hear the frequency of red, for example, we would hear a note that is in between F and F sharp. Red is the lowest frequency colour and the highest is violet.
I started using it 24 hours a day, carrying it around in a backpack and feeling that the cybernetic device, the eyeborg, and my organism were completely connected. I haven't taken it off my head since 2004, except to change the equipment when it breaks.

Resonating with God
A client recently sent me a link to a YouTube recording/video called Crickets' Choir. I've also heard it referred to as God's Choir. I first heard the audio recording five or six years ago and it had a profound effect on me. Looking back, I would say it was a powerful demonstration of the interconnectedness and oneness of all creation. I've listened to it many times since then.
In 1992, a couple of audio engineers, Jim Wilson and David Carson, slowed down a recording of crickets chirping. Since crickets have a much shorter life span than humans, they slowed down and drew out the chirping to the equivalence of the human life span and discovered what sounded very much like a choir. I'm glad I was reminded of this recording. I had not thought of it as being online, but of course it is, and so I would like to tell you about it.
This recording is an extended digitally remixed and mastered version taken from the original 1992 recording entitled "Ballad of the Twisted Hair" from the album "Medicine Songs" by David Carson and Little Wolf Band produced by Jim Wilson and released on Raven Records. There are many versions of this on the internet. I think the one below is a good presentation. You may find yourself coming back to it more than once.
