The Rumrunner’s Boy launch preps

Okay so, the THE RUMRUNNER’S BOY launch is set for May 3rd in Windsor Ontario, the heart of rum running territory of almost 100 years ago. I say the heart because the big distillers were there and Detroit, across the river, had an unquenchable thirst for liquor. My last book tour was set up by my now defunct publisher, and

THE RUMRUNNER’S BOY update – Windsor book launch

THE RUMRUNNER’S BOY update is a solid book launch and sale at Storyteller’s Book in Windsor, Ontario, in the heart of the once rough and tumble world of rum running. Canadians smuggled over a lot of liquor during U.S. Prohibition and Windsor still has the distilleries that produced it. May 3rd I’ll be in Windsor hoping for a great evening.

February – Mexico 2019

Manzanillo, Melaque, Colima, Puerto Vallarta, Comala, Bucerias, and Barra de Navidad. Ahh, February in Mexico, from my condo balcony are sunsets every nite, bats, pelicans, and an ever-changing seascape of ships entering the big harbor. Connected with some retired firefighters in Melaque and the place had a 4.7 tremor which shook the bed for 10 seconds one evening. Carnaval is

NECESSARY LIES – new non-fiction short story

NECESSARY LIES is my new non-fiction short story I’ve been toying with to add to a memoir collection MADHOUSE IN THE FIREHOUSE.  It’s a sad story about one particular med call I had out of #13 station and my feeling of helplessness when trying to console an elderly woman whose husband had a heart attack. A lot of 1st responders

THE RUMRUNNER’S BOY- Pelee Island

When I got in touch with Owen Sound Transportation Company, I was looking for distances between Pelee Island, Bass Island, and Kingsville.  I was quite surprised to discover how close they all are and had to re-jig my story.  Meeting Captain Ryersee was great.  I stood on the bridge of the MV Jiimaan  with him and he told me some

The RUMRUNNER’S BOY

The Rumrunner’s Boy is finally complete. I started it in June 2017.     Sherry did the final reading and editing and it looks great.  I have several ideas for the cover which I’ve posted here.  My grandfather was a rumrunner so I’ve dedicated the story to him.  I haven’t decided which publisher will get the job yet.  The story
