Six Sentence Sunday – 10/9/11

Happy Sunday, Sixers! :)

I'm sticking with The Light Within Me.  I'm very excited about the cover!

The set up for the six:

After six weeks of being away from Abby, Noah accidentally runs into her at a high-brow political function.  They find themselves alone, and Noah just can't help himself.

Before he knew what he was doing, he took a step toward her.

And she took a step away from him.

He felt like an animal that had cornered its prey and was ready to pounce.

Two steps later, he had her backed up against the wall, his body pressing against hers, their lips engaged.

He felt her struggle for a moment, but he didn't care. She was his.

I now return  you to the awesomeness of Six Sentence Sunday

The Light Within Me – cover and blurb revealed!!

As a shy, awkward social misfit, Abby has gone her whole life feeling as though she's different from everyone else and she simply doesn't fit in well with society as a whole. She longs to feel a real connection with someone, and she finally does when she meets Noah.

Unbeknownst to Abby, Noah is from another world, here to hunt down the evil of his people that has been unleashed on Earth, and he's been at it a very long time. He's certain he isn't going to be able to return home, and anger and the need for revenge are his constant companions. His focus has been eradicating the evil and making them pay for taking his life on his world away from him.

When Abby and Noah meet, there is an electric sexual attraction between them that can't be denied by either of them, an attraction that Noah tries to fight so he can keep his focus on his mission. But when Abby gets dragged into the evil from Noah's world, he realizes that maybe with Abby he can find a home here on Earth…if he can save her in time.

Six Sentence Sunday – 10/2/11

Thanks for stopping by!  I'm very excited because the cover for my WIP, The Light Within Me, will be done by the end of the week!

This week I'm continuing with said WIP.  Noah is a warrior from another universe down here on Earth hunting some pretty bad dudes of his race.  He is a man dedicated to his mission and has never swayed from it, until he met Abby.

Noah has just ceremoniously dumped Abby, but he's not happy about it.

He threw open the door to his room and slammed it shut.  He plopped down on the edge of his bed and put his elbows on his knees, his head in his hands, his breath sawing in and out of his lungs.  Self-hatred bathed his very soul. Hatred for what he was, what he never could be.  He could never be a proper mate to Abby.  His duty to his own race would always have to come first.

Six Sentence Sunday – 9/25/11

Hello all!

This week I'm sticking with my WIP, The Light Within Me.

I chose this six because I'm tired of the 100 plus degrees here in the Phoenix area, and this sounds pretty damn good.  :)

The synopsis of the book:

Noah is a warrior from another universe down here on Earth hunting some pretty bad dudes from his own universe.  He is a man dedicated to his mission and has never swayed from it.

Until he meets Abby :)

As he spooned her from behind, he loved the way her body fit with his.  He wrapped his big arm around her waist and nestled his nose in her hair.  He listened to her soft sigh and decided it conveyed contentment.  The pitter-patter of the rain outside along with the low hum of the T.V. lulled him even further.  He didn't have time to fight it.  Sleep rolled up on him like a tornado and sucked him down like a Hoover.

I also inadvertently put up the wrong link on last weeks SSS, but I was getting ready to have surgery and using the term scatterbrained to describe me would have been an understatement.  If you would like to check it out, please go here

Thank you for stopping by, and I now return you to the brilliance of  Six Sentence Sunday

Six Sentence Sunday 9/18/11

Hi All,

While you are reading this, I'm recovering from surgery.  I'm actually pretty impressed with myself today (9/13) for getting this post ready before my surgery so I can participate in SSS!  So if you leave a comment that needs an answer, please be patient!  I promise to be up and around and somewhat coherent by the end of the week.  Maybe.  That's my plan, anyway.

This is another six from my WIP, so please excuse any errors.  My man Noah has just met Abby for the first time.  Noah is a warrior from another universe down here on Earth hunting some pretty bad dudes from his own universe.  He is a man dedicated to his mission and has never swayed from it.

Until he meets Abby :)

Never, ever, on Earth had a woman gotten his attention the way this blushing, beautiful woman did.  Sure, he had seen good looking women—he did have eyes after all, but none of them had affected him the way Abby was.  What it was about her he couldn't quite put his finger on, but he felt something within him come alive for the first time.  He didn't know what the feeling was, but it was like a Phoenix rising from the ashes of his almost dead soul.

How dramatic.

Take that, Shakespeare.

Six Sentence Sunday 9/11/11

Hello, all.

First, as all of you know, today is a sad day.  I hope all of you who lost someone in events of ten years ago today have found some peace in your hearts.

Never forgot, people.

This six is from my WIP tentatively title The Light Within Me.  My hero Noah has just been with a human female for the first time.  He's talking it over with his buddy Talin.

Noah studied his friend.  Today's t-shirt simply said, Raisins ruin everything , and he supposed if you hated raisins, then they could ruin everything from cookies to cereal, and probably a bunch of stuff he hadn't even though about. After pouring, Talin sat back and smiled, his eyes glowing fluorescent blue.  "So, Noah's got himself a female.  'Bout time, my friend.  You have no idea what you've been missing."

Six Sentence Sunday – 9/4/11

For this weeks six, I'm going with a WIP.  This hasn't been edited, so please excuse any errors.  The tentative title is  The Light Within Me

My hero, Noah, has finally found a woman that he wants to be with.  Unfortunately, due to his duty and honor to his job, he had to break up with Abby a while ago.  And he's not happy about it :)

It wasn't just the tuxedo that had him on the way far south side of a bad mood. He had been cranky and irritable since the last time he hung up the phone with Abby, and he knew it. Never one for a high patience level, his tolerance for everything and everyone around him had hovered at zero the past few weeks. None of the warriors he lived with wanted to spend any time with him anymore, and he was pretty much an outcast in his own home. He worked alone, ate alone, and felt sorry for himself…alone.

Not a day had gone by where he hadn't thought of Abby, and he found himself hating his life and the reflection in the mirror a little more each time he met his own eyes.

Six Sentence Sunday – 8/28/11

Thanks to all who dropped by last week to read my six!  I appreciate the comments!

I'm going to stick with Hidden in the Night, the story of Aiden, my bad boy vampire who had his heart shattered by the death of his mate.  Will he find his happily ever after, or will he stick with his plan of raising his son, and then ending his own life?

Aiden stood in the doorway of the staircase, he massive body taking up most of the space.  His eyes were dark and intense, and Holly was glad he had at least put the scrubs back on.  His bandages were still in place, and well, he looked like something left over from a war.  But even though he was hurt, he was an amazing sight of lethal, raw power, and Holly found herself speechless.  This was just the situation she didn't want to be in.  She had no idea how to explain the mountain of a male that stood in the doorway to the stairs leading down to her room.
