“Untitled” (Portrait of Ross in L.A.) is an allegorical representation of the artist’s partner, Ross Laycock, who died of an AIDS-related illness in 1991. The installation is comprised of 175 pounds of candy, corresponding to Ross’s ideal body weight. Viewers are encouraged to take a piece of candy, and the diminishing amount parallels Ross’s weight loss and suffering prior to his death. Gonzalez-Torres stipulated that the pile should be continuously replenished, thus metaphorically granting perpetual life.

okay. embarrassing celesbian crush story: i somehow accidentally leaked my obsession with lauren bedford russel from the real L word season 3 to my friend & her girlfriend, and her girlfriend told me that she just interviewed lauren for her chicago lesbian vlog, and i turned the color of lauren’s hair, and asked a million questions.

Megan Falley is coming to The Mercury Cafe on October 7th.

This sentence is not only true, but it contains three of the best things in the whole world: Megan Falley’s poetry, cool Denver cafe’s, and October.

Sometimes

mileswalser:

you find yourself dating the most incredible woman who also happens to be a phenomenally talented poet and she’s gotta go spend 3 and a half months traveling and reading poems and you’re all for it, because what a blessing it is to meet her and know her and shouldn’t everyone get to experience that?

But also there is a small loud part of you that can only manage to think BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

just saw this now. hi beebee. i miss you!

"That Poem Makes Me Feel Like I've Been Abused."

"That Poem Makes Me Feel Like I've Been Abused.":

I read this poem at an event over the summer. Weeks later, a man came up to me and said that the female friend he was at the event with turned to him and said “that poem makes me realize I’ve been abused.” He pondered for a moment, then carefully responded, “that poem makes me feel like I’ve been an abuser.” He then told me that he would change.

For all the rage in my heart, I have to believe I am putting out double the good than the anger. The poem was published in Muzzle Mag yesterday. Here.
