UFOs, Aliens, and Congress… Oh My!
Tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM (EDT), the House Oversight Committee will hold UFO/UAP hearings, and I’m tickled pink. Here’s why —
Just about every flat surface in my office at the university is home to books, so when a student asked if I was into UFOs, I did a quick scan of my surroundings to see what prompted the question. “No, why do you ask?”
“I was looking at your drawing,” he said pointing to a sketch on the corner of my desk.
“Oh, that. That’s a tornado.”
“Really?” He tilted his...

What gifts are waiting behind your fears?
Nancy Stephan gives a candid account of more than three decades of out-of-body experiences. Living with a phenomenon that she neither asked for nor understood was taking its toll, but what she thought was a curse proved to be one of her greatest gifts.
Part memoir and part travelogue, Flight details Nancy’s journeys of exploration, advocacy, and learning in what she refers to as places other than here with people other than us.

Alchemical Altar
It’s been 15 years today since my daughter walked into the light. Each year with the arrival of the winter solstice, I celebrate both her arrival and departure from this plane of existence. But this year has me transmuting grief on an unexpected level.
I learned some years ago that my mother had borne another child before me. There has been some discrepancy as to whether the child was stillborn, died shortly after birth, or had been born unviable. Since my mother entered the light when I was ...

Happy New Year! Stop Everything?
I recently met Adaku, a Nigerian woman who grew up in Italy. Her life wasn’t going well, so she immigrated to the US to get a fresh start. Before long, she had recreated the same problems here that she had in Italy.
“After two years, how have I ended up in the same situation I’ve been trying to get away from? Nonsense! And then I said to myself: ‘Stop everything!’ I picked apart every inch of how I was living and, more importantly, of how I was thinking.”
Of course, none of us intention...

Post Flight
Since the publication of Flight in January of this year, I’ve had an abundance of conversations around the growing normalcy of what was once considered paranormal, namely altered states of consciousness, the fluid nature of reality, NDEs/OBEs, Spiritually Transformative Experiences (STEs), and close encounters of various kinds. Through these conversations, two things have become clear to me:
I’m not nearly as isolated in my experiences as I thought, andAll of these experiences are like i...January 20, 2022

I’ll Be Back!
But the sun continues to rise! Isn’t that how it is? No matter what’s going on in life, we see the sun bloom over the horizon each morning without fail. After laying to rest loved ones, including my dear father who adopted and raised me, and being neck-deep in the first draft of a 40k-word manuscript, I am taking a hiatus from blogging. I plan to return in late summer or early fall after publication is complete. I’ll include information on my book closer to that time. Thank you for stopping by, ...

Insider Magic
Friends ask me if Ive written about it yet? Well, its coming upon three years, and Im writing about it now for the first time. Its taken this long for me to absorb it, to make sure it was really true and not a big fat, Sorry, theres been a mistake. I had gotten my hopes up about 20 years ago, but that endeavor left me not quite empty handed but forlorn nonetheless. I vowed, for my own peace of mind, not to take it up again. And I didnt. That it still found its way to me all these years later...

Insider Magic (5)
I was expecting Ghana. I’m not sure why. I know very few Ghanaians and even less about the country. Yet, I thought my African heritage would be rooted there. Instead, it is Nigeria that holds the lion’s share of my African DNA. Norway and Sweden also surprised me. I was not surprised by England, Scotland, and Ireland that, like Nigeria, came barreling in at over 45 percent, but no one on my mother’s side new of any connections to Norway or Sweden. Yet there they were at another 10percent.
I ...
