Christian Clubs Banned From Forming

This is utterly ridiculous. When are people going to finally say "enough?" There comes a point where liberalization starts to take away more rights than it gives. We've officially reached that point.

Note: What really cracks me up is this comment someone left on the news article: "How is it unfair to not endorse a club or entity that doesn't represent your beliefs and mission? You are using the...

Robin Makes It to the Second Round of ABNA!

Robin Lady of Legend Cover (R.M. ArceJaeger) - Sticker 4.99 500w 72dpiYesterday, Amazon.com announced the second-stage winners of its Breakthrough Novel Award contest. I am one of them! That means I am one step closer to the grand prize: a publishing contract with Penguin, which includes a $15,000 advance.

I have been really busy lately, so I had actually forgotten that Amazon was supposed to make the announcement. It was such a pleasant surprise to get the notice in my email that I had made it to the second round!

This round's winners were based on a pitch they ...

Kind of Freaking Out

I just sold 250 copies of A Stepmother's Story: The TRUE Tale of Cinderella in 10 minutes. I'm kind of freaking out.

Was it a glitch? Sales had been pretty slow the last few days. I checked my sales stats at 3:00 pm and no sales so far. Sigh.

I checked back at 4:20. Over 200 sales! Even as I refreshed the page, the numbers kept climbing. Not just in the U.S., but in the U.K. as well. Then they halted. Suddenly. Mysteriously.

I'm confused. Usually I only see a jump like that if my book has a...

LEGO Friends Petition: Parents, Women And Girls Ask Toy Companies To Stop Gender-Based Marketing

I said it before and I'll say it again: let kids be kids and play with the things they want to play with. Adult conceptions of gender "roles" should have no place in a child's recreation!

How To Start a Business (Sole Proprietorship)

So you want to start a business. The question on your mind now is: how?

Step 1: See if a business license is required in your county.

Not all counties require business licenses, but most of them do. Some counties don't require licenses, but individual cities (called "incorporated cities" — those cities having their own government) do.

If a license is required, go to your city/county government office. Your first stop is the Treasurer/Tax Collector's Office. This is where you apply for a...
