The Dangers of Switching from Kindle to Print
Who knew that adding a paperback edition to a #1 Amazon bestseller could be so hazardous?
What follows are the chronicles of my decision to take my eBook, Robin: Lady of Legend, into the world of print publishing with a paperback version. I waited a year and a half to do it, and these are the consequences.
BEFORE THE PAPERBACK EDITION
While my book was only a Kindle ebook, it ranked #4 out of all Robin Hood books on Kindle and #9 out of all Robin Hood books on Amazon. It had been a #1 bestseller...

How to Let People Subscribe to Your Feed Via Email Using Feedburner
If you read my previous post, you will know that Google Chrome doesn’t allow for RSS viewing in its browser without installing an extension. If you want to provide pretty feed viewing for all your users regardless of which browser they use, you can do this by running your feed through (ironically) Google’s Feedburner. Click here for instructions.
Feedburner doesn’t automatically allow readers to subscribe via email, however. To do that, you (the website designer) first need to sign into your f...
Why RSS Feed Doesn’t Work for Google Chrome
If you’re having an issue displaying a website’s RSS Feed in your browser, don’t worry, you’re not alone. The problem, it turns out, is not with the website itself, but with your browser. Specifically, with Google Chrome.
If you see the following message:
This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.
check and see if the browser you are using is Google Chrome. Chrome does not support RSS Feeds except through an extension. You c...

Started Sequel!
For those of you who have written to me beseeching news of a sequel, I have something good to tell you. I just finished writing the first chapter!
To be frank, I had no intention of penning a sequel when I created Robin: Lady of Legend. Actually, I intended for it to be a self-contained piece with Robin “riding off into the sunset,” so to speak. However, your earnest requests have gotten my creative juices flowing, so I pulled out my keyboard and started writing. I still have no idea where muc...
Day 9: 1st Day of Teaching
Summary of Day:
Got to school
Spent the morning talking with group about how post-lesson assessments would go
Went upstairs to practice in my classroom – practiced with Promethean board (a wall-screen you can hook your computer up to and interact with). Other team members got very enthused about it.
“Official” teacher talked with me a bit. I told her of us four TFAers, I would be the lead teacher that day (meaning I would be the one actually teaching)
My nerves started to show, so I went out in ha...
Day 8: Preparing for Class
I did not sleep quite as long today. (I woke up at 8:30 am, and then went back to bed until 11:00 am.) I went to brunch for the first time today, and though I didn’t find that much appealing, I did have some eggs and a biscuit.
At 12:30 pm, I met with my teaching group to go shopping for classroom prizes. Our first stop was the Family Dollar, which contrary to its name, had prices ranging from $1 to $10 (and up). I chose out some good prizes like buckets of chalk and notebooks and stickers and...

Day 7: Soapbox Races
Last night, I slept for 15 hours straight. Wow!
I woke up at 11:00 am and had barely gotten dressed when there came a knock at my suite door. It was a group of eight of my fellow corps members (most of whom I didn’t really know except by name) wanting to know if I’d like to go see the Soapbox races with them. I had no idea what that was, but I said sure. They were going to grab brunch first, so I used that time to finish getting dressed, and then I went down to meet them outside the parking ga...
