First things first, the lovely folk at Ylvaare hosting a Spotlight Interview with me over at their blog. If you’ve got an insatiable urge to know what my chosen super power would be, or how I came to put pen to paper in the first place, then look no further.

5 Things Tumbledown Might Teach You…

As my author copies of Tumbledown are still winging their way across the pond, I can’t launch a give-away just yet. So, to pass the time and for sheer “What the hell?” hijinks, here are five things you should be able to do by the end of the novel. Plus, a gratuitous picture of a cake. And who doesn’t love cake?

1. Bake a Victoria Sandwich cake.

6oz margarine, 5 oz caster sugar, 3 eggs, 6oz self raising flour.

Add raspberry jam, whipping cre...

Tumbledown Available for Pre-Order

tumbledownforblogOh oh, paperback pre-ordery type people! Tumbledown is now available to pre-order here at the rather swanky new-look BSB site.Apparently, these orders will ship on February 1st, which is the same date that its e-book will go live on the site.

The paperback goes on wider release on February 18th, and the Kindle version should be available a couple of weeks or so after that date.

In the meantime, keep your eye out for a giveaway – I’ll be putting one up as soon as my author copies arrive :-)

Desolation Point – Bonus Scene!

dpcoverWith perfect timing for the festive season (and the silly season at work),Tumbledown is edited, proofed, and out of my hands.

During one conversation in the book, there’s a reference to a scene that didn’t make the final cut of Desolation Point. It’s one of those references where you can use your imagination to fill in the blanks, but I had the deleted scene sitting around on my hard drive doing nowt to earn its keep, so I thought I’d put it up as a bonus on here. It’s also a nice little scene...

The Darker Side of the Street

I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that I see things at work that would shock the average person. I sign on to my shift, accept the first job that comes through to the ambulance and within minutes could be kneeling beside a cardiac arrest, or holding a broken limb in position, or trying not to breathe the stink arising from the filth in which someone chooses to live. Twelve (if I’m lucky) hours later, I sign off again. More often than not, I don’t remember that first call, nor most of...

Tumbledown Cover and Release Information :-)

Ooh, I do love this part of being an author – the part where you get to see your cover and then get a release date to count down to – it gives me tingles. BSB have recently confirmed that Tumbledown will be published in February, 2014, and Sheri has designed a quite beautiful, enigmatic cover for it.

Tumbledown scratches up a couple of firsts for me: first sequel (the novel is a follow-up to Desolation Point), and first all-out thriller. It’s the longest damn thing I ever wrote, it gave me yet...

Guest Blogging: UK BSB Festival, 2013 write up

group shotIn between night shifts, sleeping, writing, lazing around in the garden (we just had two whole days of sunshine!) and chasing the cats off the frogs, I’ve managed to sift through eight pages of notes and write a somewhat coherent account of the Fourth Annual BSB UK Fest. It’s been posted here at the UK LesFic site.

I hope it gives a decent overview for the folks who couldn’t make it, and stirs up fond memories for those who did come along.

There are also a load of lovelyphotos at the BSB UK blo...
