Moving, writing and a busted toe.

Ok, I warned you guys that I'm a terrible blogger. I am forever neglecting my blogs. But, this time I have a pretty good excuse. We moved and changed internet companies. I decided last minute to go with the change of companies, so it took them longer to hook it up.

Well quite a bit has been going on since I've last blogged. For one, my oldest daughter got her drivers permit and turned fifteen this month. At her birthday party, I busted my little toe. I think it's more like the whole foot though, because there is a gigantic bruise across the top of my foot. How did I do this, you must be wondering. Well, I was walking and I bashed it into a well cover because I wasn't looking where I was going. For the most part, there is nothing you can do for a little toe, so I didn't go to the doc.

We moved to bigger house, which is really nice because I have five kids and a husband and now we can spread out a little. I also have a garage now...which is super cool to have. We also have a sun room, there is nothing in there right now, but I plan on making it an office/library. It will be nice to have a quiet space to work.

Ok, Jaiden fans, I'm sorry but I had to put off working on the second installment because another story was begging to be written. Pretty soon (like a couple weeks) The first story of my short story series will be available. It is going to be called "The Vampire Hunters Daughter." You guys will like this one I promise. This series follows a girl named Chloe through the death of her mother and a very traumatic time of learning her mothers true past, who her father is, and what's in store for her future.

Excited yet? Well I am!

Well that's about it for today. I'll keep you guys updated more often now that I have better internet!

Lot's of new stuff!

All right! I have added a few new things to this website and also to Storytime Book Reviews.
On this site you should head over and check out the Awesome Books page, there are only two on there right now, but more will be up soon.
On Storytime Book Reviews, my book review blog, I have added a page for an Author Spotlight and a page for Author Services.
The author services are services I offer to help authors get more exposure for themselves and their books. Please take a moment to check out these pages and if you or someone you know can use them then get ahold of me!

On another note, I am seriously working on a short story, which will probably be a novella. This story is going to be the first in a long series of novellas. Like episodes! I promise, you guys are gonna love it. I don't want to say anything about it yet till I get some excerpts and cover art to tempt you with!

I hope you are all having a great weekend!

My new book review blog! Storytime Book Reviews!

In case you have missed it somewhere, I have created a new book review blog separate from this blog. I just had way to many books to review and putting them on here would stray away from the focus of this blog.

Anyhow, the blog is called Storytime Book Reviews and you can get to it by just clicking the link or going to http://storytimebookreviews.blogspot.com/

I am currently accepting books for review, check out the website and my review policy. Also, I love getting ebooks for my reader cause I do a lot of reading on the treadmill. So...check it out. There will also be character interviews posted soon from the characters of "The Birth of Jaiden" and I will be holding interviews and contests soon!

Be sure to follow!

Book Review on Bloodbreeders: Living in Darkness by Robin Renee Ray

Picture When I first began Bloodbreeders: Living in Darkness I really didn't know what to expect. I sat down to read it and the first forty pages or so I read at a normal pace, after that I could barely put it down. I even read the darn thing while I was walking on my treadmill!

This book is about a farm girl named Renee Crocker who is changed into a creature of the night by a stranger who visited their farm. Renee, being recently changed is quite naive of their ways, but she is also headstrong and brave.

This is not one of those books that you read when something almost happens to someone and then they suddenly get away or they are all the sudden saved before the bad thing happens. Believe me, bad things happen in this book. There were so many times when I found myself cringing in expectation even as I turned the pages anxiously.

Robin Renee Ray takes you on a journey with Renee Crocker and makes you feel like you are right there with Renee. I really liked the storyline and how her vampires are a bit different from your average that you read about. In this book though, the word vampire isn't found anywhere. So I will say creatures of the night.

However, as much as I enjoyed the story I was quite upset when I got to the last page. It's freaking wide open for the next book. I mean there is no way this book is a stand alone because there will be another one. There has to be! When the next in the Bloodbreeders series comes out I will be one of the first in line to see if Renee gets what she is after.

The Sookie Stackhouse Novels and My Take On Them

I just finished the 8th book in the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris and for the life of me I cant understand why I keep reading them. It's like this. The first two were boring for me, then the third one I was a little more into. The others I read at a fairly decent rate, and then the 7th and 8th ones I read in a matter of a couple days each.

I am actually anxious to read the next one. But...I have read reviews that it's not up to par with the preceding 8th book.  I do know that I will read them regardless of the reviews but I'm wondering why.

Here's the thing. I'm a True Blood fan. I actually do not like the Sookie in the books as compared to the TV series. I think that in there is wayyyy too much damsel in distress going on. I like heroines! Sookie isn't my kind of gal. I know that without all the trouble Sook gets into that there wouldn't really be a storyline. So, I think that is what I like most about the books, is the world Charlaine Harris has created.

I am desperately awaiting the new season of True Blood and perhaps that is what keeps me reading the books. Well, whatever the case. I keep reading them. I guess that's what matters. And we know that there IS something about those books that keep people reading them.

What makes your vampire novel different from the rest?

Ok, so the other day I was surfing around and someone asked an author what makes their vampire novel stand out. This is a very good question. There are so many, and I mean soooo many books with vampires out there and that means that if we are going to write a vampire novel...it must stand out above the rest for people to want to read it.

So here is where I am going to answer the question, how does The Birth of Jaiden stand out from all the other vampire books out there?

1. The Birth of Jaiden is awesome, and it is awesome because it is filled with action, I did not want a book about a girl in the middle of a vampire love triangle. I wanted action...something I would finish reading and want to see as a movie. I wanted characters who can swing a sword and fight! Yes, there is a love story, but most stories do have some kind of love story wound into them. I can't see a good novel without at least some kind of love/lust/basic interest between two people.

2. This is a vampire novel in which God plays a very big role. Yup, you heard it right! You will have to read it to find out why though.

3. I have taken Vampires, Angels, Dark Angels, Witches, Warlocks, and even Vampire Slayers and mixed them up into a medley of awesomeness. These groups are not normally fit together as one entity. Of course it has been done before, but for the most part its Were Wolves vs. Vampires. I do not have Were Wolves in this book, but as for the rest, I assure you...you will be surprised with what these characters bring to the table in The Birth of Jaiden.

4. This book is not just for girls. Ok, let's just admit it, most people who read paranormal fiction are girls. The Birth of Jaiden has been read by several men since it has been published and they love it. My husband read it in a couple days and he doesn't read  much. He certainly doesn't read paranormal stuff...so I was impressed that he read the whole thing, even if he is a bit biased because he is my hubby. Another guy read it over night, literally over night! That is just a compliment in itself. So guys...it's is really NOT a book just for chicks!

5. The Birth of Jaiden stands out because there are underlying pieces of the story and of the characters that really make a person think. Trust me when I say that there are some deep parts in this book!

There, I'm sure I could think of more, but for now there are five reasons why The Birth of Jaiden stands out from the rest of the vampire novels out there. It is for sure, not your average vampire novel.

Did you guys know that you can read the first few chapters on Smashwords for free! You really should go do that! Just click Here!
