[Request] Characters of Color?
Requesting: Stories featuring at least one main character of color.
Would also like: Stories in which characters of color play a prominent (but perhaps not main) role
Must not have: Fantasy/Sci-fi setting/scenario, under 3000 words, exotification
Similar stories: Juicy Fruit by Blueghostghost, Consequences of the New York City Smoke-Free Air Act of 2002 by Domashita Romero
I also wrote Art Criticism which is now published
Things I personally liked:
A Pair of Knaves by Parhelion is excellent. One of the 2 main characters is Native American.
The Emperor by Parhelion (set in New Mexico in 1908)
The Raw and the Cooked by Plumblossom
A Suitable Lover by Plumblossom
Riding Drag by Shukyou
Fantasy/Sci-fi recs (yolo!)
The God Eaters by Jesse Hajicek is a dystopic sci-fi western I highly recommend
Hench! by Jesse Hajicek
Outlands by Maldoror is perhaps a forever WIP fantasy novel but it has enough there to be satisfying to me. The start is slow so give it some time. So damn worth it!
Esperanza by Ocotillo dystopic sci-fi, I love this fic to tiny pieces
The Heart May be Tiny but the World’s Enormous by Lady Sisyphus

hey! i don't mean to be a bother, but i was just wondering when you were gonna post juicy fruit up again or if it is up on a website not fictionpress. i really enjoyed it and wanted to reread it, but i can't find it.
Hello! I’m glad you enjoyed Juicy Fruit, it’s a project that is really close to my heart. I am in the middle of editing the work right now and it may take awhile. It’s a story I’d really like to see reach its full potential as a published work.
"Admired by Marx and Engels, the Surrealists, the Situationists,...

"Admired by Marx and Engels, the Surrealists, the Situationists, Walter Benjamin and Roland Barthes, the great utopian socialist Charles Fourier (1772-1837) has been many things to many people: a proto-feminist, a Surrealist ancestor, a cantankerous cosmologist, a social critic and humorist and to this day one of France’s truest visionary thinkers. He was also, as this volume demonstrates, a maniacal taxonomist. In this zoological guidebook to cuckoldry and commerce, Fourier offers a caustic critique of the bankruptcy of marriage and the prostitution of the economy, and the hypocrisies of a civilization that over-regulates sexual congress while allowing the financial sector to screw over the public." via HERE
I really wanna get back on the Fourier crazy train with this little gem. He is too flawed to make my all time favorite weirdo list (his antisemitism is like a slap in the face after the high of reading his radical defense of women’s rights and tolerance for homosexuality) But this looks like it might be a nice collection of what he does best.
