Dave Portnoy Reveals How Much He Lost in the Stock Market on Friday
It doesn’t matter how successful or well off financially you are — regardless of anyone's personal situation, the hit investors endured in the stock market on Friday, April 4 will always hurt.
The United States stock market made the worst type of history with its second consecutive brutal day. As Unusual Whales revealed, Friday marked the first time the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell more than 1,500 points on back-to-back days.
The drastic decline in the market is said to be due to the recent tariffs and their impact on global markets, and CNN dug deeper into the situation.
While the financial impact of consecutive woeful days for the market is a major storyline, some credit goes to the owner of one popular media website for his candid approach to the day.
Of the many people who took a significant hit on Friday, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy discussed how in the red he was during a video post.
PORTNOY: “I’m down $7 Million today… Trump has put his tariffs all over the place… I’ve been trying to understand them - I don’t. And everything is in the shitter because of it.” pic.twitter.com/0urs2osO9I
— The Tennessee Holler (@TheTNHoller) April 4, 2025
“I’m down $7 Million [today]… Trump has put his tariffs all over the place… I’ve been trying to understand them - I don’t," Portnoy said. " ... And everything is in the s***ter because of it.”
Portnoy replied to the post, adding more context to the clip. He was quick to show that he wasn't trashing President Donald Trump and actually sent praise in his direction.
Portnoy called Trump a "smart guy" while explaining that he voted for him. The Barstool founder also bluntly stated that Trump is "smarter than me" when it comes to tariffs.
Why did you cut what I said directly after? pic.twitter.com/WSxepRLSXt

Portnoy didn't seem hostile or aggressive in discussing the tariffs or Trump, and you have to give the guy credit for remaining level-handed while being down $7 million.

American Airlines Makes Concerning Decision on Flight Attendants: Report
For anyone taking a flight, whether it's a domestic or international flight, having a great staff of flight attendants can make a big difference. Having some friendly faces on the flight to help with little things just goes a long way.
Now, a new report states that American Airlines has paused hiring flight attendants for summer 2025, due to economic concerns in the United States.
American Airlines, which is headquartered at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, seems to be "responding to changing market conditions as business travel spending decreases and leisure travel faces potential cutbacks from cost-conscious consumers," according to Aviation A2Z.
"Consumers see most leisure travel as discretionary," adds Gary Leff of View from the Wing. "There's been some pullback in airline schedules, and some lower fares in the market."
The report comes from aviation watchdog JonNYC, who sent out some messages about the matter on Bluesky.
"Not confirmed but from generally reliable person," he said in an April 1 post. "Apparently AA is suspending/pausing all flight attendant hiring and training for the entire summer due to travel demand uncertainty."
He added, "I'd say it's def true that: - some are saying they received emails saying that all face to face interviews and training classes for the summer are being paused/pushed to later in the fall."
According to Aviation A2Z, "The slowdown comes as multiple indicators suggest reduced demand for air travel. Businesses are trimming travel budgets, consumers are reconsidering discretionary spending on leisure trips, and airlines have begun scaling back flight schedules in some markets."
So, if you're flying this summer on American Airlines, don't be surprised if you see fewer new flight attendants.
It's worth noting, of course, that American Airlines has not released an official statement on the matter yet.

I Tried a Double Oak and a Triple Oak Cask Finished Whiskey. Which Is Better?
Angel's Envy is hardly a hipster whiskey, but its reps can say that they were cask finishing long before it was cool. Cask finishing, the practice of maturing whiskey multiple times, was first introduced in 1982 by way of the Balvenie Classic when the single malt scotch was further matured in oloroso sherry casks, giving the spirit unexpected depth and flavor.
The practice of maturing whiskey multiple times by moving it from one barrel to another has risen in popularity. Distilleries seize the opportunity to add a unique twist to their signature bottles. A few interesting experiments include ale cask finish, maple syrup cask finish, and cherry wood casks.
Cask finishing is standard practice at Angel's Envy distillery, where its core bourbon is aged for approximately five years before being finished for six more months in ruby port barrels. The Kentucky-based distillery’s Signature Series also includes rye with a Caribbean rum finish. But the latest addition to the lineup is Triple Oak, Angel's Envy’s first new finished spirit in 10 years. It was worth the wait.
A blend of whiskeys finished in three types of barrels, Triple Oak’s repertoire includes Hungarian oak, Chinkapin oak from Kentucky, and French oak for a total of three white oak casks.

Rather than finishing the whiskey with the flavors of another spirit, cask finishing in oak barrels infuses the spirit with hints of the barrel itself. The enhanced oak profile adds a deeper spice, while undertones of vanilla and caramel linger in the background.

It’s a delicious addition. Triple Oak is deep and spicy from the first nose, thanks to the toasted Hungarian oak. Light smoke comes from the Chinkapin oak, while the French oak adds a slight fruity flavor. At 92 percent ABV, there’s a pleasant sweetness as well—brown sugar has a strong presence, while some darker fruits rest in the background, resulting in a savory balance.
I enjoyed Angel's Envy Triple Oak so much that it didn’t occur to me to try many others. I guess I couldn’t see the forest for the trees. But when I learned that Sagamore Spirit, one of my favorite whiskeys for cocktails, had released a Double Oak Rye, I had to try it. The Maryland distillery has long been considered an overlooked source of whiskey, but its Double Oak may earn it the acclaim it deserves.
I knew a pour of Sagamore would differ from Angel's Envy. For one, it’s a rye instead of a bourbon. While bourbon must be made with at least 51 percent corn, rye whiskey is made with at least 51 percent rye, resulting in a spicier flavor palate reminiscent of black pepper.

Like Angel's Envy, Sagamore Rye goes through a second aging process in a different barrel but its process lasts much longer. Sagamore’s straight rye whiskey is aged four to five years in new American oak barrels before it’s moved into toasted wave stave barrels for 18 months, 12 more than Angel’s Envy's six-month process.
It’s a notable difference. Sagamore’s Double Oaked rye is a much richer, deeper spirit. There’s a strong scent of maple syrup at first nose, even darker than Angel's Envy, offering a strong whiff of brown butter alongside some oak char and a touch of coffee bean. It also has a higher viscosity—the rye’s mouthfeel is rich and savory, with notes of toffee and caramel.
At 96 proof, 43 percent ABV, the rye packs a punch, which makes its density a plus, ensuring drinkers will enjoy it leisurely. It’s impossible to sip this spirit quickly—it demands to be savored slowly while savoring every last note.
My home bar will be home to both double and triple oak whiskeys going forward. I’ll have to keep myself from yelling “Timber!” while I pour.

DraftKings, FanDuel Face Major Lawsuit Over 'Shady Practices'
Prominent sportsbooks DraftKings and FanDuel are facing a major lawsuit as the city of Baltimore has accused the two sportsbooks of deceptive and unfair practices to target and exploit vulnerable gamblers.
The lawsuit, which was filed on Thursday, claims that the two sportsbooks use misleading promotions to attract bettors and then leverage data and analytics to keep problem gamblers betting.
Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott issued a statement on the lawsuit, calling out the two sportsbooks for "shady practices."
"These companies are engaging in shady practices, and the people of our city are literally paying the price," Scott said in a statement via ESPN. "DraftKings and FanDuel have specifically targeted our most vulnerable residents -- including those struggling with gambling disorders -- and have caused significant harm as a result. This lawsuit is a critical step to hold them accountable and protect all Baltimoreans."
The lawsuit explains that the companies lure bettors in with "bonus bets," which are credits that can only be used at the sportsbook. These credits often expire shortly after sign-up, encouraging frequent betting and risk-free winning immediately after sign-up.
"Defendants are not interested in people merely dipping their toes in the water: They want bettors to bet, in significant amounts, over and over," the complaint states. "Some get hooked, and that's the point."
The lawsuit alleges that the companies collect data on bettors and use that data to identify those most likely to gamble more. The lawsuit says that users identified as the most likely to continue gambling are sometimes given exclusive offers and checked in with "to keep these players betting as much as possible."
The lawsuit claims that these practices from the sportsbooks are so well known in the gambling industry that sharp bettors "have learned to mimic the behavior of problem gamblers" in order to receive rewards and maintain higher betting limits.
When reached for comment by ESPN, FanDuel said it would not comment on the allegations while DraftKings did not provide a statement.
'Fantastic Four’ Director Drops Unexpected Update for Upcoming Marvel Film
Fans of early Marvel movies might be in for a treat when The Fantastic Four: First Steps arrives in theaters in July.
In a Marvel Cinematic Universe that has become clouded with heroes and villains that all have to appear in seemingly every movie, Matt Shakman is taking a stripped down approach as the new heroes kicks off Marvel's Phase Six.
In speaking with Empire, Shakman revealed this entry into the MCU will look a bit differently. “We are our own universe,” Shakman said. “Which is wonderful and liberating. There's really no [other] superheroes. There's no Easter eggs."
"There's no running into Iron Man or whatever. They're it, in this universe. I love the interconnected Marvel Universe, but we get to do something so new and so different. Eventually this world will meet up with other worlds — but for now this is our own little corner," he added.

David A. Smith/Getty Images
The tone of this film will also look and feel a bit different than previous MCU entries, apart from Shakman's work on WandaVision, focusing on the optimistic spirit of the 1950s and 1960s.
“This is very much about the spirit of the Space Race,” he said. “It's about JFK and optimism. It’s imagining these four going into space instead of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. This idea is that they are the most famous people in America, because they’re adventurers, explorers, astronauts — not because they're superheroes. And they come back and they're superheroes on top of it. But primarily they're astronauts, they're family.”
“I really wanted to go with as grounded a version of space as possible,” he added. “So, no wormholes. Their tech is very much retro-future, but it's also booster rockets. It’s a combination of Marvel and Apollo 11.”
The Fantastic Four: First Steps hits theaters on July 25.

Delta Flight Attendant Under Fire for Disturbing Message to Passenger
An airplane passenger is opening up about her alleged experience with a Delta Airlines flight attendant.
In a TikTok video, which has since been deleted, the passenger, Paige, laid out an incident that she says happened on a recent trip.
"Hey Delta, just so you know, you have a flight attendant on your staff that lacks every bit of customer service and empathy skill known to man," Paige said in the video according to the Daily Dot.
The pregnant passenger was flying from Washington, D.C., to Nashville, Tennessee, when she got a text message from her husband during the flight safety demonstration.
She had "severe flight anxiety," and he texted her to see how she was doing and also because she needs to eat regularly, since she's pregnant.
Paige responded in a few seconds, she says, but Jeffrey, a flight attendant, reportedly looked down at Paige and the woman next to her who was on a call using her headphones.
"Since you two are so busy on your phones, I really hope that you both know what to do when we crash," Paige says he told her. Paige also said she asked for his name, which at first he didn't give her.
"Well, you're obviously not too concerned with my safety because I obviously won't even know who to yell to for help if I need it," Paige also stated in the video per the Daily Dot.
She added that Jeffrey went to the front of the plane to talk to another flight attendant, and she heard them laughing.
"Reminder, we were in Washington, D.C. With the current climate of planes and what has happened in D.C., that was just extremely unprofessional and uncalled for," Paige said. "You don't say that as a flight attendant anyway, but especially when a tragedy like what has happened there recently happens."
After they safely landed, Paige said she asked to speak to Jeffrey again but that it became "more of a confrontation than a conversation."
The Daily Mail reached out to Delta, and a Delta spokesperson told them, "We encourage this customer to reach [out] to Delta, so we can hear more."

Major Travis Kelce Announcement Almost Went Unnoticed
Last off-season, Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce signed a lucrative contract with the team that made him the highest-paid tight end in NFL history at the time. And it sounds like he is quietly using that salary to give back to the community in a major way.
In an announcement that largely slipped under the radar for over a month since Kelce did not publicize the news himself on his podcast or his social media channels, non-profit organization Foster Love announced last month that Kelce had purchased a $3.3 million home to help house homeless youth.
"Kansas City Chiefs’ star tight end, Travis Kelce, is using his success on the field to make a real difference in the lives of young people. After signing a $46 million contract extension, Kelce purchased a $3.3 million home in Kansas City, with plans to transform it into a transitional living facility for homeless youth," Foster Love announced last month.
"This generous project is all about providing a safe space for those who need it most, helping them regain stability and hope for the future. Travis Kelce’s efforts for homeless youth are more than just a headline – it’s a commitment to changing lives."

The home offers plenty of space in and out of the home for its young residents to not only find shelter and safety but to truly thrive.
"The 6,500-square-foot home offers six bedrooms, five bathrooms, and a spacious kitchen, providing a comfortable environment for its young residents. Outside, there are gardens, a patio, and a fire pit to help create a relaxing atmosphere. Inside, a game room and study area ensure there’s plenty of space for fun and focus. This new home will offer more than just a place to stay—it will be a place where youth can build their independence and focus on a brighter future," Foster Love wrote in the announcement
Thanks to Kelce's generosity, young people in need will have a place to go at a pivotal time in their lives.
"Travis Kelce’s initiative for homeless youth is extremely important. Studies show that 40% of youth who age out of foster care become homeless within just 18 months. This devastating statistic highlights the importance of providing these young people with safe spaces, mentorship, and resources. The transitional living facility Kelce is creating offers all of that, ensuring these youth have the support they need to break the cycle of homelessness," Foster Love wrote.
It's an extremely generous gift from Kelce. Even if he did not share the news himself, it should not go unnoticed.
Morgan Wallen Joke Goes Viral After Abrupt 'SNL' Exit
Late last month country music star Morgan Wallen made headlines with an abrupt exit from the Saturday Night Live stage.
After his guest appearance on the show, hosted by Best Actress award-winner Mikey Madison for her role in Anora, Wallen made an unconventional exit from the stage. Following the conclusion of the show, Wallen stood next to Madison, who addressed the audience, “Thank you so much to Morgan Wallen. I had a wonderful time. Thank you all.”
After giving a brief wave to the crowd, the country star abruptly exited the stage directly in front of the camera while the rest of the crew exchanged pleasantries and congratulations for a completed episode. He delivered a curt message on social media following his swift exit: "Get me to God's country."
Wallen hasn't addressed the abrupt exit yet, but he did start selling merchandise with "Get me to God's country" written on it. He's also inspired a new generation of memes on X - formerly known as Twitter.
Meme account Luis Vercetti posted a photo of Wallen walking off the SNL stage with the caption, "me leaving work at 5pm without saying bye to anyone."

Earlier this year Wallen announced the upcoming release of his fourth studio album following his One Thing at a Time, which topped the Billboard 200 albums chart for 19 non-consecutive weeks and spawned seven No. 1 country singles.
He's set to kick off a brief tour that will hit 19 stadiums in 10 different cities including Cleveland, Houston, Seattle, Toronto and more.

Babysitter Makes Disturbing Discovery Looking for 'Monster' Under Bed
A babysitter in Kansas went to a child's room to prove that there was no "monster" hiding under the bed. While the babysitter was correct and did not find a monster, she did make a rather disturbing discovery.
According to a statement from the Barton County Sheriff's Office last week, a babysitter was putting children to bed when one of the children complained that there was a “monster” under their bed.
When the babysitter went to the bedroom to show the child that there was no monster under the bed, she soon came face-to-face with a male intruder who was hiding under the bed. After a brief altercation with the intruder, the suspect fled, knocking over the babysitter and one of the children in the altercation.
The babysitter identified the intruder as Martin Villalobos Junior, who previously lived at the residence but he was required to stay away from the property as a result of a protection from abuse order issued against him.
Deputies searched the area for the suspect but were unable to locate him. However, authorities were in the area the following morning when they saw him.
When authorities saw Villalobos, he attempted to flee from law enforcement. However, after a short foot pursuit, the suspect was captured and arrested.
Villalobos was booked on charges of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary, aggravated battery, child endangerment, felony obstruction of a law enforcement officer, and violation of a protection from abuse order. He is being held in lieu of a $500,000 bond.
Needless to say, that was not what the babysitter expected to find when she went to the room looking for a "monster."
