Tian Ma Bird Nest, SkyAvenue Resorts World Genting
I had the opportunity to visit a rather interesting F&B outlet in SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting not so long ago. If you briefly read this restaurant’s signboard in Chinese, the reataurant is simply known as ‘Tian Ma’. The Chinese characters for ‘Tian Ma’ literally translate to ‘The Sky Horse’ or ‘The Heavenly Horse’. While this particular outlet is named after either a ‘Sky Horse’ or ‘Heavenly Horse (not really sure which one cuz I’m not really proficient in the language)’, it doesn’t exactly sell any horse’s meat or anything related to horses. Far from it, in fact. It actually sells bird’s nest tonic/soup.
Bird’s nest tonic is known as the elixir of youth by the ancient Chinese. Consumed among the rich and royalties, it is said to be able to preserve one’s beauty and helps to balance the ying and yang in the body. Fast forward to a few thousand years later, people are still consuming the miraculous tonic as the consumption of edible bird’s nest has been scientifically proven to have several health benefits such as stimulating the regeneration of cells, strengthening our immune and respitory system, as well as improving the performance of our internal organs. One of bird’s nest most sought after beauty benefits is it’s ability to rejuvenate cells while promoting smooth and radiant skin in the long run.
Here’s some assorted nourishing bird nest’s soup from Tian Ma Bird Nest SkyAvenue that I managed to try:
Bird’s Nest with Pear (RM29.70). This bird’s nest tonic is simply refreshing. It was served warm and has a slightly bittersweet aftertaste from the poached pear.
Bird’s Nest with Ginseng Tea (RM23.90) was my favourite. There’s a generous portion of bird’s nest in it, accompanied by goji berries and ginseng slices. Slightly sweet on the palate, this tonic is surely pleasant to drink. It left no lingering aftertaste whatsoever, and I think even young children would be able to enjoy this
Signature Double Boiled Bird’s Nest(RM93.30). This tonic is a the outlet’s signature and came highly recommended. Generously brewed with Chinese dates and goji berries, this tonic taste rather thick and rich. It’s without a doubt, sensationally nourishing. It was served with a side of sugar syrup. You may choose not to sweeten the tonic if you want to forgo sugar in your diet, but the syrup does wonder to the tonic’s taste.
Me, being pampered by my husband with bird’s nest soup. Having the luxury of enjoying bird’s nest soup like this makes me feel like I’m an Ancient Chinese Empress reborn in the modern world, I must say. I certainly would want a repeated experience.
If you love all things luxuriously nutritious, you’ll definitely love this outlet. Tian Ma Bird Nest offers bird’s nest soup that’s made from high quality bird’s nests at a fraction of the price. Tian Ma Bird Nest not only will help you boost your beauty from the inside, but will keep your purse pretty as well.
Tian Ma Bird Nest is located at Level 4, T2C-05B SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting.

Tampopo Delicieux, SkyAvenue Resorts World Genting
Craving for a bowl of delicious Japanese ramen? Here’s one place that you need to try; Tampopo Delicieux.
Tampopo Delicieux is a beautifully inviting restaurants that offers Japanese delicacies, mainly ricebowls, ramen and udons. There’s a few outlets in Malaysia but I had the opportunity to dine at the newly opened outlet in SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting.
They have ricebowls and such, but this time around, it’s all about Japanese noodles.
Mini chicken ramen comes in a bowl with generous amount of chicken meat slice in it. The soup was flavourful and yet not heavy on the palate. Great for those who would like an easy eat.
Curry Beef Udon was simply sensational. The udon noodle was just ordinary but what makes this meal special is the thick curry. It was simply flavourful and delicious. Another plus point? The beef cube was really tender and really nice to eat. I really like this dish a lot and should I visit again, I’ll surely order this Curry Beef Udon again. Yes. It was that good.
Tampopo Delicieux is an excellent place to dine in especially if you are feeling cold or in need of some comfort food.

Just Heavenly SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting
Would you like a piece of Heaven? There’s one place in SkyAvenue that’s offering slices of heaven.
Just Heavenly offers freshly baked cakes for all occasions. You may opt to buy the whole cake or just a slice or two to enjoy at the outlet.
My husband and I wanted something rather simple, so instead of having their Durian Cheesecake, we opt for Classic Cheesecake and Chocolate Fudge Cake instead.
Classic Cheesecake was light, fresh and decadent. Recommended for those who wants some fuss-free dessert.
Chocolate Fudge Cake is rich and moist. Chocolate lovers would adore this.
The cakes menu at Just Heavenly varies daily, so be sure to ask for recommendations if you’re feeling adventurous and wants to try some of their seasonal offerings.
Just Heavenly is located at Level 1, T2-55 SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting.

Madame Waffle SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting
There’s a few Madame Waffle outlets in Malaysia and I had the opportunity to patronize the newly opened outlet in SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting.Madame Waffle serves of course, waffles as the name suggest. I managed to try two off from the menu and I thought that they are simply divine.
Banana Nutella Waffle with ice cream (RM26.80) will surely make anyone who consumes it high with sugar rush, but it’s so delicious that I can assure you that it’s worth all the calories it’s giving you. On a side note, this can also make a very good carbo loading meal for those who will be attempting a marathon or a short run. I actually felt my energy spikes up instantly after consuming this. The banana and the chocolates contributes to that, I guess.
Sea Salt Dark Chocolate Chunk Waffle(RM15.90) was indulgingly sweet. Will surely lift up your sour mood if you’re in one.
This Madame Waffle outlet operates more like a grab and go kioks where you can grab the Belgium waffles to go if you are in a rush but if you have time, do have a seat and enjoy the pleasure of enjoying some sweetly satisfying Belgium waffles topped with various kind of ice creams and toppings. They are simply delectable, I assure you.

Inside Scoop SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting
Fancy enjoying some freshly made ice-creams at 6,000 feet above sea level? Here’s one place you can go; Inside Scoop SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting.
Inside Scoop is a local artisanal ice creamery, churning ice cream from scratch in small batches.Inside Scoop offers icy goodness in the form of sweet ice creams and sourish sorbets. But if you are looking for more, they have waffles for you to pair your sweet confections with as well.
They have more than 60 flavours on rotation with popular flavours ranging from classic ice cream flavours such as Valrhona chocolate and pistachio to local favourites such as cempedak, teh tarik and durian. I had some some ice creams from Inside Scoop with my husband and son during our recent stay in Resorts World Genting and I thought they’re not too shabby.
We had Inside Scoop’s Valrhona Choccolate Strawberry&Cream as well as Passionfruit sorbet and Strawberry sorbet. My husband and son loves the sweet ones while I prefer the sourish sorbet. Kinda refreshing, I must say.
At Inside Scoop, they use the freshest ingredients from all over the world and their ice cream is handcrafted without any added artificial flavouring or preservatives. As I think the ice cream taste wonderful, a revisit to the outlet is in order, I guess.

Kyochon 1991 SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting
Since the opening of its first store in 1991, KyoChon 1991 has been voted Best Fried Chicken by South Koreans for 13 consecutive years and many years later, this brand of fried chicken finally arrived in SkyAvenue.
Korean drama fans would be pleased to discover that Kyochon 1991‘s Korean fried chicken does not only look good in Korean dramas but taste good as well.
The fried chicken over here are freshly made to order and therefore, it’s nothing like those fried chicken you get in fast food restaurant.
Kyochon 1991 offers a few flavours of fried chicken, spicy and non spicy ones, but if you are up for a challenge, do order the spicy versions. The spicy Korean fried chicken from Kyochon 1991 will surely put your tongue on fire. It’s not for the faint hearted, that’s for sure. While my husband and son enjoys this spicy fried chicken, I can’t honestly say that I share the same sentiment. It was too spicy for me and I actually ended up drinking so much water to ease the spiciness after just one bite. The spiciness actually bites the tongue and I felt as if I was on fire. But strangely enough, when I ate the fried chicken with the accompanying garlic rice, the spiciness was pretty much toned down and somewhat tolerable.
Soy garlic Korean fried chicken. This is the non spicy version. And unlike the spicy version, I enjoyed this one immensely and have it my way, I would have ordered a bucket and would not even share it with anyone else. Yes it was that good.
Garlic rice. The garlic rice was included with our chicken set. And it was pretty much my lifesaver as it helps me stomach the spicy fried chicken.
Sparkling Yuzu and Plum Juice were really refreshing and I thought it complements the fried chicken very well.
So, do I enjoy my experience dining in Kyochon 1991? I sure did. Will I go back again? Well, yes, for the non spicy fried chicken, that is. I’m too chicken to gobble down the spicy ones as while they are delicious, they are too spicy for me to take.
Kyochon 1991 is located at Level 1, T2-33 SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting.

Tokyo Secret SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting
I’ve been mentioning countless times that I don’t have sweet tooth, haven’t I? While this statement stands true, I somehow have a weakness for cheesy desserts like cheesecakes and cheesetarts. But I am very selective about them. So far, only those from Tokyo Secret suits my palate pretty well; considering that they are pretty light and not cloyingly sweet. I managed to indulge in some at Tokyo Secret SkyAvenue during my most recent trip to Resorts World Genting and here’s some of the cheesy goodies from the outlet.
Cheesecake, Hanjyuku cheesecake, cheesetart and Osmanthus Oolong Cheese drink.
Tokyo Secret is well known for it’s divine tasting cheesecakes and cheesetarts, but recently they came up with a series of cheesy drink as well. Cheese Crema series consists of a few flavours; Black Tea, Osmanthus Oolong, Green Tea and Japanese Matcha. The one that we tried is this; Osmanthus Oolong Crema Drink from Tokyo Secret.
Cheese on top of your drinks, can you imagine that? I certainly couldn’t until I was introduced to this. I was a little skeptical about this drink at first, but being someone who loves tea, I decided to give this a taste. The liquid cheese actually covers the cold Osmanthus Oolong tea underneath where the saltiness of the cheese on top somehow balances up the sweetness of the tea below. Unseeming combination but it was really nice to drink and actually leaves me wanting more.
Me and my Osmanthus Oolong Cheese Crema Drink. Messy aftermath, no? A perfect drink for lovers though, as you can get your other half to kiss away the mess that you made afterwards. A wonderfully fun beverage to drink, I must say. No prize guessing who shared a kiss with her husband afterwards.
Tokyo Secret is definitely a must patronize if you are a fan of all things sweet and cheesy. Tokyo Secret outlet that I patronized is located at Level 1, SkyAvenue, but the outlet in SkyAvenue is not the only outlet in Malaysia. They have a few outlets scattered all over Malaysia too, in case you’re wondering.

Babajia Restaurant SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting
Fancy some Baba&Nyonya cuisine from Malaysia? Well, head over to Babajia.
This restaurant offers authentic Baba&Nyonya cuisine. Among the dishes that comes highly recommended on their menu are the classic all time favourite Baba&Nyonya’s Cincalok Omelet and the refreshing Cendol.
I’ve patronized this restaurant twice. The first time around we had our dinner over there where we feast on some of their signature dishes like Ayam Keluak and Cincalok Omelet, but this time around, we went there for breakfast and decided against rice. Instead, we tried their highly recommended Nyonya Laksa and Char Koay Teow.
Nyonya Laksa (RM18.00) comes in quite a large bowl. Small eaters may find it rather challenging to finish. Tastewise, the Nyonya Laksa does not disappoint.
Char Koay Teow (RM20.00) was not too bad. Flavourful and generous with ingredients.
Bubur Cha Cha (RM7.00) was not cloyingly sweet, and although I am not a fan of desserts, I still find this acceptable on the palate.
This restaurant operates 24hours every day, so if you find yourself famished at odd hours during your stay in Resorts World Genting and wants something nice to eat, just head over to Babajia. Your tummy will be eternally grateful for it.
Babajia is located at
Level 1 T2-16 SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting.

DC Super Heroes Cafe SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting
Dining with young children can be quite a pain, especially if they are very picky with their food. SkyAvenue have plenty of children and family friendly restaurants but DC Super Heroes Cafe tops the list.
DC Super Heroes Cafe
The cafe adopts super hero theme where not only the deco features superheroes theme, but the food are presented in superhero theme as well.
All the staffs in DC Super Heroes Cafe are dressed as superheroes as well, so don’t be surprised if anyone donning Superman or Batman shirts come and serve you.
The menu features some interesting superhero theme meals.
I can’t help myself. I have always adore Supergirl and here’s my chance being one.
Our food. How can anyone say no to burgers or pizzas presented in Superman’s logo or pastas presented in Batman shaped logo? I bet nobody can.
Clark’s Yuzu Soda and Nightwing’s Elixir from DC Super Heroes Cafe, SkyAvenue.
Unboxing our meal. We had Superman Punch Burger (RM28.00).
Superman Punch Burger; beef patty with cheese, pineapple and special bolognaise sauce served with fries. This may look rather small in the picture but trust me, it’s actually pretty big portion over here. Tastewise, the burger surpassed my expectations.
Isn’t it obvious? We are huge fans of Superman. Well, at least I am. I’m a huge Superman and Supergirl fangirl. My husband is much more inclined to imagine himself as The Flash, though.
The young and the young at heart will definitely love this highly instagrammable cafe and if you are looking for some fun time dining with your family, this is one of the place in SkyAvenue that I think is really worth both your money and your time.
DC Super Heroes Cafe is located at Level 3, T2B-06 SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting.

I Love Yoo! SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting
Wanna tell someone that you love them but is always tongue-tied and not very good at expressing yourselves? Just head over to ‘I Love Yoo!’. That alone should have conveyed your feelings across. I can give you more ideas on confessing your love, but this is not a a post on dating tips, but rather an article on food. So let’s put all all things romance aside for a little while, shall we?
I Love Yoo! is simply a shop serving You Tiao or also known as Chinese cruller, porridge, soy milk, and tofu.
You Tiao are lightly salted and fried in pairs with the center attached so that the dough becomes puffy and crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. You tiao is best eaten immediately after it is fried because of its tendency to become tough and chewy if left out for too long. There’s an interesting story behind these crispy fried dough. You tiao is nicknamed you zha gui, or deep fried ghost, which stems from a story told long ago during about a public protest that took place during a rather heavy and serious part of Chinese history. The protest involved a famous and well-respected General, Yue Fei, who was appraised by the people for his loyalty towards the Song Dynasty and his Emperor during his time at war defending the kingdom from outer invasions, particularly the Jin Dynasty.
At that time, the Prime Minister, Qin Kuai, and his wife, Wang, grew jealous of him and formed a secret liaison with the invading northern tribe of the Jin Dynasty to frame Yue Fei under accusations of a crime and get him executed. Public civilians were frustrated by their inability to defend their General; so in reaction, a pancake vendor decidedly sculpted two miniature people out of dough, representing Qin Kuai and Madam Wang. He then began slashing at their figures with his dough cutter. The other vendor brought his deep-fry wok, twisted the two figures together into one piece of dough with their backs to each other, and threw them into the wok full of searing oil. While they were frying, the vendors called out for people to see. As a crowd of passer-byers formed to see the two ugly figures sizzling in the hot oil, they immediately called out, “Fried Kuai!”. Qin Kuai happened to pass this spectacle on his way from the imperial palace and was enraged with disbelief by the mutiny of his edible figure. In the vendors’ defense, two men stepped up and scooped the fried dough out of the oil to eat it. They exclaimed how delicious and crispy it was, which further infuriated Qin Kuai. Soon, their business was so busy that they had to design a simpler version of fried Kuai that was made of two strips of dough twisted together in order to represent Qin Kuai and his wife. The street food sensation quickly spread to other cities of China and eventually given the name, “you tiao.”
Porridge, you tiao, taufufa and soya milk from I Love Yoo! SkyAvenue. This simple meal costs less than RM15. Simply wholesome and comforting on the tummy and even a young child would be able to enjoy this meal immensely.
Dining at I Love Yoo! is pretty much fuss-free with it’s quick service. Highly recommended for those who are looking for a quick comfort on the tummy.
I Love Yoo! is located at Level 4, T2C-02B SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting.
