A fun product launching and family day with Coway
Guess where I was last Saturday when the rest were ranting and prattling about the illegal rally? Well, make a guess… recognize the blue duck?
No… I was not at the rally. *roll eyes* And instead of staying home as advised on 9th July to avoid bloodbath and chaos*was on recalcitrant mode*, I went to Sunway Lagoon Theme Park for a day of fun instead.
You see… since I decided to try Coway Spa Water Softener for 14 days and reviewed it in my previous blog post, I was invited by Coway for their product launching in Sunway Lagoon Theme Park. I was really happy, cuz with the invitation invitation came with a free all parks access in Sunway Lagoon Theme Park. LOL. That means, after attending the product launch, I get to have fun in Sunway Lagoon Theme Park with my family.
The event started at 11.30am with speech by Mr. Hoe Kian Choon, Coway Senior Sales GM in Malaysia.
Followed the launch of the Coway Spa Water Softener
And then there's Q&A Session with the celebrities… Ning Baizura, DJ Sam… and *cough* my former senior in TARC College, May June. She was in my husband's class. She took Mass Communication in Graphic Design, and I believe she attended Media Law lecture with me years back. Tsk. What a small world. I can't believe I met her there again after all these years. Unfortunately for me, I did not get to talk to her, couldn't find her after the Q&A session. LOL… probably was swarmed by her adoring fans. *grinz*
I only get to talk to the lovely Ning Baizura and Vanidah Imran and her husband. It was not a first for me as I've met the three of them a couple of times a few years ago. Ning at various charity events while Vanidah Imran and her husband during my notorious scriptwriting and journalism years. Really brings me back to the times when I was practicing journalism. LOL! Neway, those days are over… I think. Can't keep up with the glamorous and hectic world. I saw alot of bloggers like iamthewitch and Saucer, Nicolekiss…and many more familiar faces who used to be my blog reader. But I did not go up and say hello, as they do not know me. *blush* Geez…I'm nobody…would be a shame if I go up and say hello and they have no idea who I am, wouldn't it? I wouldn't want the "Cleffairy? Who? You're sure you're invited" kinda conversation to resurface over and over again now, wouldn I? Plus, not all bloggers are my friends. Some of them disagree with my opinions and what I wrote and loathe me to death, even if what I wrote is the truth.
Anyway, I'm straying… as I was saying, I was there for the product launching and Coway family day not chit-chatting with old friends and whatnot.
After the launching and the Q&A session with Coway ambassadors ( Ning, May June and DJ Sam) we're given an exclusive preview of the product, which I had the pleasure to test out before the launching ceremony.
Now, I did not know much about the product apart from the product's ability to make my skin more moisturized and smooth, but during the launching, I learned quite a few things about our bodies as well as the product.
First, I learn that our skin absorbed water 3 times more during shower than during drinking water. And second, I learn that all these while, I've been using hard water to shower. Gosh! Imagine our skin absorbing unclean water that's harmful to our skin and the rest of our anatomy.
During the launch, I learned that Coway water softener unit is scientifically proven to increase as much as 69% of skin moisture and reduce dead skin cells and decrease friction by 20% in just two weeks. Yeah… I can really vouch for that. Why did I say that? Well, one week ago, I got henna(mahendi) on my hand. After I showered with the Coway Spa Water Softener just once… I discovered that the dead cells with henna on my hands were falling off.
*FAINT* I was so shocked! There goes my henna. No more sexy, Bollywood hands… but thinking back, it was a good thing as my skin became much softer after all the dead skin cells fell off and I feel much more comfortable after bathing. Another thing that I noticed after using the water softener is that soap and shampoo works better with soft water that comes out from the water softener.
Darn it… I am sooo tempted to keep the product. *SOBS* (But my husband wants me to return it, cuz we have no budget for it. He will only allow me to keep it if Coway sponsor me that unit. TSK TSK TSK!) Not only my skin is much smoother, but I noticed that my dandruffs are not as much as before too. The product is really good, you can have my words on it. There's so much difference before using it and after using it. My skin was not easily irritated as before too.
This product was actually first introduced in South Korea in 2000. (Aha! So that's why Korean ladies have such smooth skin and so pretty! This must be their secret!). The water softener is also equipped with a composite filter to remove harmful substance like chlorine and other floating substance. It's ion exchange function on the other hand, reduced the hardness of water, making it softer for the body to absorb.
During the launch, I also learn that bathing with hard water not only causes rashes and irritation to the skin, but it also encourages premature aging and hair loss as hard water destroys the vitamins in our skin. So yeah… if you're balding prematurely and suffering hair loss, this is definitely one of your remedy. LOL!
Anyway, Coway has generously installed 48 preview units of their spa water softener throughout Sunway Lagoon Theme Park for the public to try out. So if you happen to be in Sunway Lagoon Theme Park and had a swim or two, you might wanna wash off all those nasty chlorine from your body by using their water softener.
After the launching, the guests, bloggers, reviewers and members of the media were ushered for lunch and were invited to participate in their family day with lotsa fun activities.
There was various products on display and various activities like airbrush and glitter tattoo booth where you can get yourself tattooed for free, and then there's manicure and reflexology massage where you can pamper yourself as well.
Kids are not forgotten either. There was a sand art section as well. Just too bad there's soooo much overgrown, not cute big kids cluttering that section til it's kinda hard for kids to have a chance at sand art. The kids practically have to wait for the not cute overgrown kids to be done with their sand art before having their turn. Tsk! What's the matter with all these overgrown kids? Grow up! Grr~ Sorry, no picture on the sand art section. Was busy being flabbergasted by some young adults who was hogging the place that I've forgotten to snap a picture.
I had 2 airbrush tattoo done, by the way…my husband had one too. Can you guess where I had myself tattooed?
Anyway, I really had a fun and relaxing day, thanks to Coway. I better pen off as this is getting too long. But before I go, if you're interested in trying out their water softener, just remember that they are giving the public an opportunity to try out the Spa Water Softener (1,000 units) for FREE in the comfort of their homes with Coway's exclusive 14 day trial period. Sin-ful Cake
Everyone have been quite busy with their own family and work lately. I have been busy as well…with work, family, and the pressure of my husband studying again (Nah, I'm exaggerating. It's not a pressure, but a pleasure as I love it when my husband decided to pursue his study again. He's much more attractive and sexy when he's studying.) and I haven't been going out socializing too much. Did not have the time for it. *SIGH* It's been hectic up til end of June.
Anyway, I was saying that everyone have been busy and have not much time to meet up like we used to… and Cynthia, being as thoughtful as ever, made me my favourite SINFULLY moist chocolate cake when I told her that we'd probably meet up at an event dinner that we both have been coincidentally invited to last Friday.
She's certainly thoughtful, isn't she? Damn… now I don't think I had enough of the cake. =.= It's not too sweet (Cyn knows me best) and very moist. Ohhh… it's so yummy. Thank you very much, Cyn… this will probably be my sinful companion during my writing hours in the middle of the night over a cuppa iced tea.
Want some, ladies and gentlemen? Nah… you can't have mine. If you want it, you got to hop over to her home bakery at CYNFUL PLEASURE and order it from her. LOL!
Cleffairy: Now, please excuse me while I go and stuff my face with more chocolate cake!:P

Penang Godfather
I am not a famous or popular person. In fact, nobody in the blog advertising industry actually know who is Cleffairy. More often than not, each time I attend any events or blog advertising campaign, organizers from Nuffnang especially, will ask me… "Cleffairy? Who?" and then they will look at me from head to toe and ask me this " You're not a blogger, are you?" and then this one will follow "Are you sure you're invited? Cuz this is for media or bloggers only!".
Oh, good grief… I'm a freelance journalist for God's sake! Even if I'm not a blogger, I am still a member of the media. A media practitioner, in fact! *SNARL* Why all bloggers must represent Nuffnang is beyond my comprehension! Dudes, babes, whatever, that is stereotyping! DUH!
But then again, they are right in some ways I suppose. You can say that I am not exactly a blogger. I am a freelance writer… or rather, a novelist. So they are right in some ways. I am not quite a blogger… or rather, not exactly your typical blogger. People do not exactly recognize me through the pictures in my blog because I don't put them up for public viewing. People usually recognize me through my writings.
Despite of my lack of popularity and public recognition in the world of blogging, I am glad that I knew a lot of friends through blogging. I met so many wonderful people through blogging. Truthfully, I did not realize that I come to know so many good friends through blogging until Eugene pointed it out to me.
Yes… I met Eugene when I was in Penang last week during my…. ahemm… vacation. I did not meet him alone. He brought his wonderful family along and treated my family and I to dinner. Jovial and Marvel was such darlings. They were so quiet and very shy. >.< Made me wonder if they are scared of me?
Anyway, I really appreciate it that Eugene made an effort to meet me when I told him that I decided to extend my stay in Penang for one more day (geez… I didn't get enough of Penang… not enough food, not enough adventure, not enough romance… bwhahaha, and I was actually hoping to meet Eugene and his family. Not that I admitted it to him when we meet up, anyway. *BLUSH* I feel shy….)
My timing was all wrong. Eugene was actually hooked up for alot of appointments during my stay in Penang. He's really a nice guy and goes all out for you, and I feel lucky to have known him.
My first impression on him is that he's a very cool and casual guy. But still water runs deep. He's much more than just a casual guy wearing a faded, comfortable Hawaiian shirt. After a few minutes chatting with him over my chicken wings, I come to realize that he's a rather passionate person. He's passionate with whatever he do and he's also a very attentive person. Eugene have a very strong memory and could recall many things about you, and definitely have a strong view on certain current issues that's going on in the country. Eugene is also a very good conversationalist, and if you're to meet him in person, I have no doubt that you'd feel comfortable around him. Having a conversation with him is effortless and he reminds me of my own father.
Thank you, Eugene, for spending time with me and my family. I want you to know that I really do appreciate the fact that you rescheduled your appointments just to accommodate me for dinner. I'll never forget that. And I hope I did not scare you off with my appetite for food. >.< LOL. You have yet to see my DBKL ability. LOL!
Cleffairy: If you say I am popular or famous, then you are wrong. Nobody out there actually know me. I am just blessed with wonderful friends who keep me in their thoughts.

I will refrain from commenting on the electoral reformation rally that will be held in my country on 9th July 2011 cuz I don't see a point in doing so. I would feel like barking to a mountain. Free Coway Spa Water Softener Trial
I have very sensitive skin and every now and then, my skin would itch and I'd get rashes. It's extremely uncomfortable, and more often than not, I'd ended up scratching my skin til it breaks and hurt.
Apart from the fact that it made me feel extremely uncomfortable, it lowers my self confidence too as I have the urge to scratch my skin in public places. It's really embarrassing when you need to ease your itch in public by scratching, trust me. It's definitely not attractive and many would be appalled by your behavior.
And so, I consulted a dermatologist not long ago, and I was told that it happened because the water that I used to bathe was probably 'hard water' or 'unclean water', and therefore, causing my skin to get irritated all over, especially after showering. The dermatologist in question suggested that I have a water softener or a water filter installed in my bathroom so that the water that I use to bathe would not have such effect on my skin.
I did not know what water softener is, but I was told that water softeners functioned to soften the water that we use for showering. You see, tap water is considered as hard water cuz it contains chlorine and various chemical element in it that is harmful for the body.
Did you know that using normal tap water to bathe or shower can cause you various skin problems? Well, I didn't, so imagine my horror when I was told that using tap water to bathe could not only cause various skin disease, but could accelerate hair loss and skin aging because the chlorine in tap water destroys vitamins in our skin.
I'm afraid I'm quite a vain pot. I do not wish to age before time and I do not wish to have itchy skin most of the time, and so, I decided to go for a water softener hunting.
There are various brands of water softeners in the market, but there's one particular , trustworthy brand from Korea that I got my eyes on. The brand is known as Coway. Coway is a leading brand in home-wellness appliances, and they have this water softener that I need. It's known as Coway Spa Water Softener.
Coway Spa Water Softener functions to transform tap water in our homes to soft water. Consequently, the water that comes out through the water softener is a much healthier option for our bodies.
The water softener removes contaminant particles to ensure our skin absorbs only clean water with several layers of protection.
Composite filters for smoother skin i.e. remove harmful substances such as chlorine and floating substances in tap water to minimize irritation to skin.
Cation ion exchange resin for removal of substances causing water hardness.
Coway Spa Water Softener has outstanding water softening efficiency. It is increased greatly thanks to product design that utilizes ion exchange resin by using the scatter board installed inside the tank.
Initially, I have doubts about this water softener, but I was assured that the benefits of Coway Spa Water Softener has been proved by a 4 month test done by Woongjin Coway Cosmetics R&D Center, SMCTC (A clinical test organization) & KATRI (Korea Apparel Testing & Research Institute).
Anyway, I decided to try it out and had it installed in my bathroom. You see, Coway is having this special promo, and I can't help myself. They are giving the public the opportunity to try out the Spa Water Softener (1,000 units) for FREE in the comfort of their homes with Coway's exclusive 14 day trial period. It is absolutely free has no hidden charge. You are also not obligated to buy their product if you think that the product is unsatisfactory or you think that you do not need it after all. Interested? Check it out at their website here: www.coway.com.my. Alternatively, you can call their tol free number: 1800-888-111 for further information and assistance.
I've been using it for a week now. The unit is easy to use. It's now connected to my hot water shower unit to soften the water and can easily maintained. Frankly speaking, I'm rather tempted to keep the water softener unit. I've seen positive effect on my skin after using it. My usually dry skin stays moisturized much longer and my dandruffs has been reduced. My skin feels softer and no longer itch each time after I come out from the shower too, so I guess the water softener unit really does do wonder.
*SIGH* To keep or not to keep the unit, that is the question. I'm still considering it as for rental unit, Coway customers needs to pay RM70 monthly rental and entitled free product maintenance every 2 months up to 5 years while a one off purchase is RM1,900 with free 1 year maintenance (for every 2 months).
*TSK* I can't decide. Let me use it for a couple more days before I decide to rent it or to return the unit.

Light Up The World With A Pencil
A pencil is just a small tool. But like all tools, it can be very powerful. Do you know what a pencil can really do?
In the hands of artists, our minds are exposed to beauty.
In hands of inventors, our lives have been improved.
In the hands of writers, our souls are lifted to greater heights.
Now, can you imagine if we give a child a pencil and see what he can do?
The HWH Pencil Project is a digital signature campaign through the combined efforts of Dynamic Teen Company (DTC) and Hotelwithheart.com (HWH). The aim of this campaign is to raise 10,000 pencils to support DTC's "Kariton Klasrum Project". Through this endeavor, children in the slum areas will get a decent supply of pencils to help them learn the basics of writing, reading and arithmetic.
So what can you do to help these children? They only need your signatures. For each signature they will donate 1 pencil to Dynamic Teen Company. If you wish to support this cause please do visit their Facebook page HERE . The campaign has started since 1st June 2011 – 30th June 2011, but they extended it until 15th July 2011.
Cleffairy: Have a heart, donate a pencil and spread the word. Without a pencil, even I won't be here today.

Pub Date: 25 May 2011
ISBN: 9780446567190
My husband was positively flabbergasted when he saw this inside one of my 'pornography' reading list. Gosh, what wouldn't I give to see him blush and flustered like that again? I'd give anything just to see that again. I love it when he's surprised like that and looked at me as if he's discovered something new and absolutely wicked about me.
Anyway… enough with my amusement… LOL. I can assure you it won't be my last. Now, without further ado, allow me to proceed with the review of this book.
Again…this book is not pornography book where Playboy bunnies prance around in their skimpy outfit. No. This is not that sort of book. This, ladies and gentleman, is a self-help book that teaches you the art of pleasuring yourself, and your other half. It teaches you to slow down a little bit where bedroom matters are concern and teaches you how to prolong pleasure and connect yourself not only physically, but emotionally with your partner.
This book is a very good self-help book. Every couple who wishes for a much more satisfying sex life should read this book. I assure you you'd learn a few things to put your sheets on fire a little bit.
I rate this book 5 stars. Intensely pleasurable and educational read. I received an ARC of this book from Grand Central Publishing via Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review for this book and I was not compensated in any ways for this.

SubTitle: How to Date Your Spouse

Author: Andrea Syrtash
Now, my husband caught me reading this book the other day and he was rather flustered. *GRINZ* At first glance, it seems that I've been reading a book that teaches me the art of cheating and infidelity, but truthfully, it is not. This book does not teach me how to cheat on my husband. Quite contrary, I must say.
This is a motivational book that teaches you how to reinvent passion between you and your spouse. Admit it, most of us feel as if things has indeed become mundane after being in a marriage for quite some time, and more often than not, we took our other half for granted.
This is a very good motivational/self-help book. Though the content is not anything new, and I'm mostly familiar with most of the case study, I find that I could learn a few tricks to make my relationship with my husband much more exciting than it is now.
My only complain about this book is that it is rather repetitive. I get alot of points that it's trying to convey, considering that I've been married for almost a decade… I wish the author does not try to emphasize too much on how things gets mundane and we need to fix that. I know that.
Overall, a very educational read, and I highly recommend this to all married couple who feels that they need to do something to renew the passion and love in their marriage.
Despite of it's flaw and repetitiveness where case studies are concerned, I rate this book 5 stars, simply because it helps me understand more about my relationship with my husband, and it helps me appreciate him more and see him as my lover instead of just the father to my child.
I received an ARC of this book from Rodale Publisher via Negatlley. I was not compensated in any ways for writing this review.

Too many women wake up in their marriages and ask themselves, "Is this it?" After years of sharing domestic duties, raising kids, and balancing careers, many of us can't help but wonder if we're living the lives we intended to have.
Whether you have been married for two decades or two months, dating and relationship expert Andrea Syrtash shows how to create a more exciting and more fulfilling relationship with your spouse—and more important, with yourself. Soul Survivor by Misty Evans is a wonderfully written adult fantasy with paranormal element in it. I find myself enjoying it immensely though the beginning really did get on my nerves.
The pace was rather fast and gets my head spinning, but it is a good thing. I was rather intrigue with the story and I couldn't put down the book.
Very good read, and I couldn't get enough of the thrills, the sexiness and the adrenaline from this book.

Book description:
Haunted by tragedy, FBI profiler Rife St. Cloud is driven to find the person who brutally attacked six women. Unfortunately the only survivor, Keva Moon Water, has no memory of what happened, and the evidence makes her the prime suspect.
Keva cannot die. She has waited a thousand years to be reunited with the man she loves, whose soul sleeps within Rife. Though he refuses to believe her claims of immortality, there's no denying the passion that burns between them. Keva desperately hopes their sexual connection will be enough to awaken Rife's memories of the love affair that started a war and bound their souls together for all eternity.
But when Keva's own memories come trickling back, she realizes that a future with Rife depends upon confronting the mistakes of the distant past…
