Meet the kungfu master…
I think some of you have guessed it right. The blogger that I met the other day was Claire. She's the one whom I pestered at 11pm at night for some… ahemm… 'light supper' during her recent trip to Kuala Lumpur.
Just take a look on how she eat her durian. She eat it with a pair of chopstick! A skill truly to be admired. I can never eat durian with chopsticks. I thought only kungfu masters can do that!
Thanks for coming out to meet me and my friend, Claire. I really appreciate it. Hope to meet you again soon.
Cleffairy: My chopstick skill is very horrible. How about yours?

Life Support
'Life Support' by Robert Whitlow is an incredibly amazing thriller and i find that the book is hard to put down. I couldn't really grasps on the storyline in the beginning as it was rather confusing, but I began to enjoy the book after chapter two.
It's been some time since I read a thriller with unexpected twist, and I'm glad that I've been given a chance to review 'Life Support' by Robert Whitlow. The book is definitely a keeper.
I highly recommend this book to all mystery and thriller lovers. I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars, I received an ARC of this book from Thomas Nelson Publisher and I was not compensated in any ways for writing this book.
Book description:
Alexia Lindale knows her new case is a matter of life and death. She doesn't have a clue what it will do to her heart…and soul.
From the Christy-award-winning author of The List, The Trial, and The Sacrifice comes this twisting tale of tough decisions, mixed motives, and mysterious, healing grace.
Baxter Richardson survived a fall from a cliff while hiding in the mountains. Whether he'll make it through the next few weeks is unclear. His survival depends on the machines that help him breathe. On the haunted, unstable wife who wants to pull the plug and hide her secrets. On the doting father who wants him alive for reasons of love and money. On the conflicting legal documents that send the fight to court. And, on the music and prayers of an extraordinarily gifted pianist.

Better than going for a food review
I'm a blogger, and yet I'm never invited for a food review. Why? Well, first and foremost, it's because I'm not a food blogger, and I'm pretty bad in photography. Nobody would want to invite me for food reviews. I'll probably make food look like something that came out of the toilet bowl, no matter how nice is their presentation.
Second of all, I think people avoid inviting me for food review is because I'm pretty much inclined to give an extremely honest opinion, and boy, am I a fussy eater. Nah… I'm an extremely bad choice if you want a food reviewer. I can do books, no problem. You can always find me if you want your books or other products reviewed, but not food.
I won't make the food look good and people would probably be repelled from the food in question. Not that I want to anyway…I'm a ferocious eater and I prefer to pay for my own food so that I can give a real honest opinion on it… and I always feel awkward around 'high profile' and glamorous people.
I may not be into food reviewing industry, but I'm have absolutely nothing against food hunting and good companion.
Last night, a very special friend of mine came for a visit in Kuala Lumpur. And I knew I have to meet her. It was already late at night, almost 11pm, but I don't care. She came over from afar, and I must treat her like a VIP.
She have a very busy itinerary. We almost did not get to meet, but I'm glad that she's not too busy for these…
Durians…. OMG… so stinky… I'm never a fan of durian. It stinks so bad and it makes me feel feverish each time I eat them and the previous durian buffet I went to made me feel so ill. ( I yet to blog about it… too lazy) *SOBS* ( I know someone is gonna tell me serves me right for being sick after eating durians, I know, I know, please don't rub it in. Sobs… I'm pitiful enough!)
My friend have a very interesting way to eat durian…she eat durians with chopsticks. *FAINT*
I have yet to sort out the pictures, but I promise I'll show you folks who she is. She's a very kind and loving lady, and she's my heroine in many ways.
Stay tune for more about my late night food hunt with my blogger friends.
Cleffairy: I hope I did not scare off people with my ferocious appetite again. *SOBS*

This is a short entry, but I'd like to wish happy fasting to all my Muslim friends, and I hope your Ramadhan will be a fruitful one. And happy fasting to those who join our Muslim counterparts in fasting out of respect and health reasons as well. God bless.

On the lows
Sorry for the lack of updates. Yours truly is really on the lows… low on blood pressure, low in sugar in her blood, and really low on the mood. Truthfully, I'm feeling kinda depressed these few days, because I feel disappointed towards friends whom I thought were friends for life, considering that we grew up together and stuff.
Honestly, I feel as if I have the need to re-evaluate my relationship with people whom I have known for a very long time. I come to realize that all these while, they are merely manipulating me and using me for their convenience and toss me aside when they do not have such a need for me.
You know, I'm kinda sick of being someone who comforts those who are crying their heads off because their boyfriends dumps them and stuff… and when they have no problems in their life and whatnot, they push me aside and be sarcastic towards me in public. I am also sick of standing up for such people when they did no such thing for me in return. Friendship is a give and take kinda thing, so if you can't do that, I'm okay if you're out of my life.
Cleffairy: I don't need a friend who sneer at me during dinner date and stuff, and I certainly do not appreciate being someone's dog, doing favours for people when they desperately need it and yet is ungrateful about it. Sneer and be sarcastic towards others if you want, but if you do such a thing again in my presence, I'll be suggesting you to go back and brush up your manners.

The Making of Nasi Lemak 2.0
When you talk about Namewee, alot of people will think that's he's one rude chap as he excessively used vulgar words in his songs and whatnot. But the truth is far removed from reality. Namewee is not just an ordinary punk as he portrayed himself to be in public.
He's just misunderstood as a lot of people tends to judge a book by it's cover. I've met him before, and he's nothing but a gentleman, and I must say, quite a shy feller. We've chatted for a while and not even one vulgar word was hurled at me, and I was really surprised. He's in fact, a very polite young man and is very encouraging of aspiring artists and authors.
I came to understand that Namewee is also a patriot who wants nothing but a better Malaysia for the future generation (somehow on the twisted and darker side, though). He mentioned that as an artist, he feels that the only way he can reach out to the public about his visions is through his songs. It may not be well received by those who are prim and proper and those who supported the government, but well, at least he made his point, and to me, he's much better than those who just know how to rant on various social media sites but at the end of the day, contributes nothing at all to the country. That sort of people, are just empty cans to me.
Some of you may and may not know that Namewee have been working hard on his first movie, Nasi Lemak 2.0.
Nasi Lemak 2.0. is a movie about a young chef, Chef Huang who is on a quest to find the best Nasi Lemak recipe. I have yet to watch the movie as it'll only be released in September, but I can say it's a multi-cultural based film where the main protagonist meet alot kind of people along the way in his quest /misadventure and learn the true meaning of unity and non-discrimination.
Interesting story with catchy soundtrack, really, and to think that the government had initially given him a red light just because he's a controversial artist. Talk about stereotyping!
Due to the controversial issues faced by Namewee last September, the initial plan to complete Nasi Lemak 2.0 for 2010 came to a complete halt when the sponsors and investors decided to pull out from the project. Luckily for him, the Minister from the Prime Minister's office, Dato Seri Nazri Aziz officially announced Namewee's innocence after viewing his proposal and Nasi Lemak 2.0 movie trailer in Parliament at end of last year, they were able to revive the project again in 2011.
Artists line up for Nasi Lemak 2.0 is most impressive. There's Adibah Noor, Dato' David Arumugam, Karen Kong, Afdlin Shauki, Kenny & Chee, Reshmonu, Dennis Lau, Nur Fathia, Nadine Ann Thomas, Pete Teo, Ho Yuhang, Dian Sharlin, Felixia Yeap and many more famous celebrities, and most of them volunteered to act in Nasi Lemak 2.0 without asking for anything in return. Now, this is what I call unity.
You know what's more amazing about Nasi Lemak 2.0? Well, despite of the low budget and various obstacles placed by the the ruling government in the beginning, the movie was completed within 6 month time. Amazing? Well to me it is amazing. Another amazing thing about this movie is that they only used DSLR camera to do the shooting. How about that? Talk about fully utilizing the DSLR camera.
Check out the pics below… it's taken during the shooting of Nasi Lemak 2.0.
Namewee and Nasi Lemak 2.0 crew. Notice the camera? It's not huge like those people usually use to produce movies. This one is just a DSLR camera. They just use DSLR camera cuz there's budget restriction and they have to make do with what they have I was really surprised during the Press Conference. The quality of the movie was really good despite the fact that they did not use high end cameras for the shooting.
Local artistes who starred in Nasi Lemak 2.0. I can only recognize Adibah Noor and Karen Kong inside this picture, though. Adibah Noor is one of the most versatile artist in Malaysia. She's not only an awesome singer, but her acting career have been pointing to the sky since she acted in the late Yasmin Ahmad movies. Adibah Noor plays Kak Noor who is the mysterious nasi lemak stall owner who holds the secret of the perfect nasi lemak in Nasi Lemak 2.0. Interesting enough, she's also a tai-chi master in the movie.
One of the scenes in Nasi Lemak 2.0. Afdlin Shauki, Reshmonou and Namewee. Afdlin Shauki played a down to earth fisherman with four wives while Reshmonou played a historical hero who came to Chef Huang's aid when he's in trouble.
From left: Namewee, Afdlin and Reshmonou, having fun on the set.
Namewee and Karen Kong in Nasi Lemak 2.0. Karen Kong have an interesting history in the Malaysian entertainment industry. She's the first Malaysian Chinese to debut with a full Malay album. She plays the heroine in this movie.
Namewee and Dato' David Arumugam. Datuk David Arumugam is widely recognized in Malaysia as the pioneer of championing the muhibbah spirit where his all-Indian band Alleycats was the first non-Malay band to be accepted and hugely popular in the Malay music industry. In Nasi Lemak 2.0, he plays Curry Master who taught Chef Huang (Namewee) about how understanding a good curry mix is vital to building a harmonious society in a multi-cultural country.
Dato' David Arumugam is my childhood idol. I love his songs when I was a little girl. My dad used to turn on his cassettes every now and then, and each time I look at him, I feel like singing his old songs. My all time favourite is "Jika Kau Bercinta Lagi". Take a note on the picture above. Notice Namewee's T-shirt? There's a message in it. 'Why can't we all just get along?'. Indeed. Why can't we all just get along?
I know most of you are not a fan of Namewee, but I think it's fair if his artworks are viewed with an open mind, especially Nasi Lemak 2.0. At least this one is a multi-cultural film with tonns of unity message embedded inside. To me, it is way better than those cheap looking horror movies or those gangsters and mat rempit movies. In case you're interested in Nasi Lemak 2.0, here's the link to the official website:
Cleffairy: Never, ever judge a book by it's cover. Truthfully, appearance can be really deceiving.

Nasi Lemak 2.0- Finally will be served to Malaysians in September
As I mentioned in my previous blog entry, Over A Cuppa Tea was invited to do a coverage on the Nasi Lemak 2.0 press conference in Lust Changkak, Kuala Lumpur on 26th July 2011. I was really pleased as I have been anticipating the completion of this movie since 2010.
The highly controversial and multi-talented artiste, Namewee (aka Wee Meng Chee) announced during the press conference that his much-awaited directorial debut film 'Nasi Lemak 2.0′ has been completed.
This film is a joint production between media entertainment company Prodigee Media and UB Prodigee Entertainment, which took more than 2-years in planning and six-months to complete, including post-production work.
'Nasi Lemak 2.0′ is distributed by GB Primeworks, a subsidiary of Media Prima Group, and will be released in nationwide on 8th September 2011. It is also proudly supported by prominent brands; Canon, HTC and Tiger as the film's co-sponsor.
The Nasi Lemak 2.0 crew will be embarking on hectic 12-city nationwide promo tour in September, including shopping malls in Klang Valley, Penang, Malacca, Johore, Sabah and Sarawak to promote this film.
The 'Nasi Lemak 2.0′ movie campaign also features several merchandises, where fans will be able to support by purchasing the official music soundtrack, cookbook and t-shirt through its official website www.nasilemak2.com.
With only an ambitious plan, the Nasi Lemak 2.0 crew created the film's multi-cultural characters based on a best-case scenario, where they imagine having the most ideal casts for this 1Malaysia film.
They believe it was Namewee's personality and also the interesting storyline that they had that made the difference.
Cast line ups includes Adibah Noor, Dato David Arumugam, Karen Kong, Afdlin Shauki, Kenny & Chee, Reshmonu, Dennis Lau, Nur Fathia, Nadine Ann Thomas, Pete Teo, Ho Yuhang, Dian Sharlin, Felixia Yeap and many more famous celebrities.
The film was shot mostly in Mandarin and Cantonese, but they also included Malay, English and Tamil languages in their storyline to make this movie a truly 'Muhibbah' film suitable for all Malaysians to enjoy.
This movie has the biggest lineup of multi-racial superstars ever assembled for a local movie.
Nasi Lemak 2.0 will hit the cinema in September, and at least 60 major cinema in Malaysia will be screening this movie.
Cleffairy: Coming up next- The Making of Nasi Lemak 2.0.

Nasi Lemak 2.0
Recognize this dude? Well he's the well known Namewee. He sure cooked up a lot of controversies back then with his 'Negarakuku', 'Orang Hitam' songs and whatnot. I was invited for his Nasi Lemak 2.0 the movie press conference, and finally get to meet Mr. Namewee and the gang in person. Stay tune for more on Nasi Lemak 2.0 on Over A Cuppa Tea.
Cleffairy: People who are different are always misunderstood. And I make it a point to understand and support their visions instead of merely stereotyping.

Thai Food Galore
Do you love Thai food? I love Thai food to bits, especially if they're not from those fancy looking restaurants that claimed to cook authentic Thai dishes and yet when it's served, it taste like something that came out from hell.
The Thai Fair near my house is back, and as usual I went to eat their signature dishes like these:
Yummylicious tomyam noodles. This is my personal favourite. The Tomyam soup was perfectly done, unlike the one that I had in Little Pantry during father's day celebration with my father- in- law last month. This Tomyam soup is really something to die for. It's spicy, sourish and has the sweetness of seafood in it.
Then there's sweet ripe mangoes served with glutinous rice and coconut milk. My husband loves this one very much.
We did not order much things as we were still full from lunch, but we couldn't resist ordering ABC. (Shaved ice with condensed milk, syrups and various jellies as well as nuts)
I adore these food and I daresay that this won't be my last visit as long as the Thai Fair is still there.
Cleffairy: At least in Thai Fairs they don't dress up like Lolitas to serve the customers.
