New Breaking Dawn Trailer
I can't help myself. The temptation is too huge to deny
… I must share this… but my advice to you folks out there in regards to Twilight… DO take some time to read the book first before you watch the movie.
Cleffairy: My reaction when I first watched this trailer is: YIPPIE… the feather scene is there.
Tsk. I'm a sucker for romance. So sue me.

Sambal petai with prawn recipe
Smallkucing and his Mamarazzi came to find me for dinner to drop off some goodies they bought during their most recent trip back to Kuala Terengganu. Among of those goodies is some petai (stinky beans). Despite of the stinky and unpleasant smell, I love petai very much. And I can eat lotsa it especially if it's made into some sambal.
I really couldn't help myself and fished out some prawns from my freezer and made some sambal petai with prawn for dinner today. Here's sharing the recipe with you folks:
500 g Medium Size Prawn
200 g Petai
2 Onion
240 g shallot
180 g Red chilli
5 g dried chilli (soaked in water to soften it)
15 g fresh tumeric
2 tbsp belacan powder
2 tbsp dried shrimp (soak in water to soften)
3 – 4 tbsp cooking Oil
20 g Tamarind Paste (mix with one cup of warm water)
Salt to taste
Sugar to taste (optional)
Blend the red chili, dried chili, shallots, tumeric, belacan powder and dried shrimp together.
Heat up wok with the cooking oil, when the wok is warm, add in onions and the blended mixture. Stir-fry in medium high heat for 3 – 5 minutes until the onion turn soft and the "sambal" is fragrant, it will be a bit dry at this time.
Stir in the prawns and the tamarind juice (if you want more sambal, add in a little bit more water) continue to cook until the prawn is almost done.
Lastly add in petai and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Season with salt and sugar to taste. Serve warm with rice.
Cleffairy: Petai will make your urine smelly. If you don't want your pee to smell so smelly, add in some eggplant in the sambal. Eggplant help you reduce strong smell of urine if you eat it with petai.

Reduced to clear
The cost of living is really pointing to the sky these days, and I find that it's almost impossible to feed my family with the normal budget that I've been sticking to for years. I used to set aside an amount of money as the household monthly grocery money, but these days, I feel that I had to increase the limit a little bit.
It's getting really difficult to shop without being over-budget these days.
I'm not sure what the hell is going on, but when I went groceries shopping last week, I discovered that I over-budget terribly even though I bought the very same items as I did in the previous round. I checked the receipt, and the cashier got everything right. She did not miscalculate and I didn't take anything extra…so…the only thing that can go wrong is the price, right?
My husband checked the receipt too, and he pointed out to me that a lot of things have become much more expensive than before… most by a few cent and a few Ringgit. If some people are not attentive enough…(like me) they probably wouldn't realize it til they pay for it at the cashier counter.
Eating out these days seems to be much more energy and cost effective these days as not all food item that's sold at hawker stall or restaurant can be increased drastically like groceries cuz diners tends to boycott.
While eating out or taking away food from hawker stalls and whatnot is much more cost effective and energy saving, but my family and I tend to get bored with it easily and we always prefer home-cook food rather than food from outside.
And so, we went grocery shopping again, in hopes that we don't over budget like the previous round. This time, I pay much more attention to those items that I picked up and discovered that unless I go for 'reduced to clear' item, I wouldn't be able to get everything that I need to stock up my kitchen supplies.
Deciding that it is okay to purchase and consume some 'reduced to clear' items, I picked up a few foodstuff from both wet and dry aisles. I managed to spot and grab hold onto some 'reduced to clear' biscuits, crisps, pastas, instant noodles, canned food, vegetables, meat and poultry.
All of the vegetables, meat and poultries still looks reasonably fresh and the biscuits and canned food still have a couple of month more to go before reaching the expiry date.
I come to realize that I managed to save much more by purchasing those 'reduced to clear' items and instead of going over budget, the total bill was much cheaper than buying those items that's not tagged with 'reduced to clear' sticker or 'discounted items' sticker.
A lot of people are apprehensive of buying 'reduced to clear' items whenever they go for grocery shopping, but since I cook pretty often and the foodstuff that I bought usually lasts only a week, I did not think that buying 'reduced to clear' items is such a huge issue to me. After all, most of the food are already in the tummy when they reach their expiry dates.
If I had a choice, I would probably choose those that's not tagged with 'reduced to clear' items and opt for those 'fresh' ones instead, but the bills is killing me terribly and I think right now, instead of moaning and groaning about the drastic price increase, opting for 'reduced to clear' item is a temporary solution for the over-budgeting issue that's plaguing me whenever I go shop for groceries these days.
So…what do you folks do to continue to retain your frugal lifestyle? Do you buy 'reduced to clear' and 'discounted items' like me too or you have other ways to combat the price increase in order to keep every mouth in your family fed and your account happy?
Cleffairy: As of late, I discovered using clipped coupons and discount card before paying for the groceries helps too but please, do share with me on tips how to shop wisely and stock up on groceries in a more cost effective manner. I definitely could use it.

Life Lessons from The Help: Pain Happens in a Broken World
I came out of the movie grieving. I not only felt wretched at the pain racism causes, but also at the hurt and suffering that comes when people mistreat others. Pain Happens in a Broken World. Being cruel to others, whether by actions or words, happens in every culture for many reasons: because individuals think they are superior for some reason due to their skin color, gender, position in society, wealth, or education. Whatever the reasons, they all flow from a sinful heart.
Have you been hurt?
Have you known what it is like to be looked down on, dismissed as unimportant, or made to feel unwanted? Have you experienced cruelty of some kind? How did it make you feel?
Have you wrestled with anger, wanting to get revenge, or feeling crushed and of no worth? In The Help , one of the poorly treated maids gets her revenge in a startling way. But revenge is God's prerogative, and not ours to take (Romans 12:19).
Your pain might have come from someone you work with, live next to, or go to school with. Its source could be a relative or close family. Even fellow believers hurt others when operating in the flesh and not the Spirit. But no matter where your pain originated, it is something God wants to heal.
God Cares About You. Why should He care? Why does He call you to forgive those who have harmed you? Because He loves you and wants the appalling power of bitterness, hatred, and inner rage to stop poisoning your heart and your life.
God's Path to Healing. How can you and I, followers of the Lord Jesus, indwelt by His Mighty and All-powerful Spirit, find freedom from pain? Only by forgiving the one, or many, who caused our pain.
Three necessary principles for dealing with pain:
Reject blame and bitterness . It doesn't move you forward. It chains you to the past.
Pray for willingness to forgive. It is a process that often requires time to work through.
Forgive the offender . Be willing to release that person from your desire for revenge, or even for an apology. Realize they most likely have moved on and forgotten the incident. Remembering is only hurting you. Let it go.
Remember something else: the Lord is our Healer. He wants you to experience joy, no matter how much pain you have experienced. He wants you to THRIVE in every aspect of your life. And He has provided a way for this to happen! Will you walk in it?

Thank you
I'm not a people-person. I make enemies more than friends, and most of the time, I speak before I think. I am a very bad person, so I thought everyone should be forewarned about me before they get close to me. If you're an overly sensitive person, then I think you're better off being someone else's friend…. someone who won't speak her mind… someone who is better, and definitely different than me.
Anyway, despite the fact that I'm cruel, evil and heartless in nature in the eyes of many, I'm glad that there are friends who stands by me and give me moral support whenever I need it.
Last week have been one of the longest week of the year. The cardiologist found a few 1 cm tumour in my father in law's lungs during his most recent check up and he had to undergo an operation to remove the tumour and my family and I had to be in the hospital on and off. It was horrible…during the first few days my father in law's lungs had to be 'cleaned up' and he lost alot of blood. It flowed out of his body as he lay on the bed.
It was really scary and frankly speaking, I was horrified with his condition. I cannot get worries off from my head, even when I tried. I couldn't sleep and I couldn't eat well. I wrote about my worriest a couple of days ago and I'd like to thank everyone for their prayers and well wishes…. especially AngelBear who kept me company at night when I felt miserable and scared, and also to Smallkucing and his family for offering to send me food while I was in the hospital accompanying my father in law. Everyone have been so thoughtful and I feel so blessed.
While we still don't know if the tumour is actually cancerous or not, my father in law is slowly recuperating and things seems to get better with each passing day (and I hope it'll continue that way)… and I believe he's recovering not only because the medical practitioner's effort, but also because of YOUR prayers and good wishes. Believe it or not…not even my father in law's family members offered such prayer or good wishes.
I may sound silly… and superstitious even, but… as evil as I am, I believe in God and the power of prayers. I believe that in some situation, prayers does help, and God will answer the prayer in His own time. And I believe, this time, He answered your prayers and good wishes, and so, here I am…saying thank you to everyone for their prayers and good wishes.
Thank you so much for dropping by and send me your prayers even though you don't know my father in law. Thank you, thank you very much.
Cleffairy: Thanks to your prayers, I can finally take a breather again.

Social media websites like Facebook and Twitter is getting pretty commercialized as a lot of people are abusing the service to send loads of spams around in their Facebook wall share and tweets.
I used to love those two social media websites. But I can't really say that they're number one right now. I used to be able to get genuine news feeds from friends all over the world, but these days, as long as I'm logged into Facebook or Twitter, there's possibilities of people selling coupons or tagging me in strange pictures that I'm not interested in.
I was browsing around the other day and I stumbled upon this awesome social media website known as chatroulette. It's a new social media website that will enable you to make new friends and have live video chat with your friends.
Do check it out. However, you must be 18 to register for this service as this social media website is only for those who are 18 and above.

Can't quite give a damn…
I know there's a lot of hoo-hahs going out there in the cyberspace about Steve Job's passing on 6th October 2011, but seriously, I can't quite give a damn right at the moment. Would love to extend my condolence and whatnot, but I can't seems to find the words to do so right at the moment. Hey, don't blame me for being heartless or cold about the matter, I'm just being honest.
While he contributed his ideas and energy alot to make the world a better and a more stylish place to live in, he made very little impact on my life. Say… I'm not an Apple products user. I don't use iPod, iPad, iPhone and whatnot, and the last time I used a Mac desktop was when I was 6 years old. That was two decades ago.
Right at the moment, I can't quite a give a damn about anyone else's passing…not when I don't know them personally and not when my father in law is in the hospital and I have to fill my head with worries about him instead. Sure, his lung surgery had gone well, and he's slowly recuperating, but the sight of him coughing blood and the dirty blood that's slowly being pumped out of his punctured lungs through two plastic tubes into a large glass jar somehow scares me.I cannot imagine the pain that he's going through right now, even with the sedatives and painkillers.
It is hard to show that you're brave and strong when you're filled with worries. Things are rather overwhelming to me right now, and I don't really have the mood to do much things. I may not get along well with my in laws, especially my mother in law, but I do love and respect my father in law nevertheless. He have been very kind and understanding towards me, and I wish to repay his kindness.
I'm feeling rather drained and tired. There's too much bad news around me. A couple of says ago Uncle Chee (the actor who played Baba- my childhood idol) passed away. That hit me really hard. It was really unexpected as I met him at the end of August and he was looking fine, and there was no sign of sickness at all. The news rendered me speechless, in fact. I guess when it's time for you to go, then you will go, isn't it? Nobody can beat Death, I suppose.
*SIGH* I'm in need of positive vibes. I know it's not possible to ask people to stop telling me about people's death, but isn't there any GOOD NEWS around?
I need a few good news to make my day.
Cleffairy: Sorry for the lack of coherence in this post. I wrote this using my smart-phone and I'm just being emotional. I just need to let the bad things out. *SIGH*
