Love flavours more than bland food
The man of the house could no longer take spicy food due to his sensitive stomach. This is because of his eating habit. He usually skip meals and have irregular meal time while he’s at work.
Usually in his presence, I try not to cook or order something that is spicy, but being me, I can never be contented with merely bland food. Being a Penangite by blood, I love spiciness and strong flavours in my food. I love food that can excite me and tantalize my senses instead of food that’s just comforting to the tummy, even when I don’t really feel well. I’m pretty recalcitrant, huh? I don’t really watch what I eat. God, I’ll even eat KFC when I’m having a fever. LOL.
Everything goes as long as they taste nice and flavourful. Tasteless stuff is an abomination to me.
Anyway, it’s been awhile since I indulge in something really flavourful and spicy cuz my boy don’t really fancy the type of spiciness that I take…and so when I was alone one fine day, I ordered the thing that I really feel like eating; Super Spicy Curry Chicken Rice. It costs me a whopping Rm5.50, but boy, it was a very liberating experience to be able to actually eat something that I really want in a place that I have never been before as I usually have to consider these two things when ordering food when I’m dining with my husband and kid.
1) Whether or not the kid will eat the food I ordered, so that the food won’t go to waste.
2) Whether or not either of the two boys in the house will get stomach ache after eating the things I ordered. Having them sick is not something I look forward to.
The extra spicy curry chicken rice was divine and I actually sweat when I had em, By the time I’m done, there was not a single grain of rice left on the plate.
The meal was awesome, and I certainly would not mind a repeated experience.
Cleffairy: Love the flavour and the spices in food. It makes my life colourful and exciting.

No longer satisfied and contented

Now, here’s the question. Has any one of you husbands or wives who are parents out there who had the same problem like I do? I mean, how many of you have to choose food out of consideration for your spouse or kids? And if you do, how do you make up for your lack of satisfaction and satiate your cravings?

Sweet Recipe by Etude House
It was indeed a great pleasure to be able to witness the launching of Sweet Recipe by Etude House last week. It was by invitation only event and was was held in Bangsar Village 2.
As the new line of make-up suggested, the event itself was a really sweet in itself.
Before the launching
Generous goodies from the organizers.
Lovely ladies waiting for the launching of Sweet Recipe to start.
The unveiling of the new product, ‘Sweet Recipe’ by Etude House.
Take a look at these. These are the newly launched make up. Aren’t they sweetly yummylicious? Well, I certainly think they are. As the name suggest, the new make up line from Etude aim to make the wearer look naturally sweet. So, if you’re aiming to look sweet, I’d highly recommend Sweet Recipe line of make up from Etude House.
What’s a make up event without a make up demo and make up tips? Here’s the make up artist, working her magic on the model.
Take a look at this.
The Sweet Recipe line by Etude House certainly delivers. The end result is definitely sweet and full of youthful exuberance. Personally, I fancy these sort of make up. Not too heavy and looks pretty much light and natural. Very flattering on the camera too.
Apart from make up tips and food for the skin, there’s also sweet food for the tummy.

Strawberry tarts served with colourful jellies.
More irresistibly sweet yummy treats.
Wanna look sweet? Well, you might wanna look up Etude House for their various range of make up and skin care products.
Cleffairy: Who says make up can’t be sweet?

Emotional detachment is necessary
How many of you parents out there is facing the difficulty to ask your children to get rid of their security item? I don’t know if any of you have this problem, but I certainly do have this problem with my kid.
He is still very fond of his blanket at a very advance age and is still dragging that thing around regardless of my nagging and scolding. I don’t like the idea of him carrying his blanket around as if his life depends on it. It is not only unsightly, but also a very bad habit as the blanket will get very dirty afterwards.
I know that he’s used to having the blanket with him everyday and is very posessive about it, but I think it’s time for him to get rid of this habit since he is no longer a mere toddler.
But how…how do I get him to be emotionally detached from the stinking blanket? I’ve tried scolding and nagging and hiding his beloved blankie, but it does not work.
How do you get your kid to be emotionally detach from the things that makes them feel safe and secure? *Sigh* Any idea?
Cleffairy: Got to get rid of the blankie during the day. Need to find a better hiding place for it!

School Holiday Woes
Okay, I don’t mean to sound like a bloody Grinch, but God, I pretty much hate school holidays.
Unlike everyone else who could go for holidays at whim, I always ended up rotting in the dumb cave throughout the entire school holiday. Going for vacation during school hols is practically non-existent in the dictionary of my family. The man of the house is busy 24/7 cuz his work demands him so and sometimes, it made me wonder if I should just leave him to his own device and take off for a vacation somewhere instead. You see, his work is never ending, so time is a comodity that is very rare these days.
Asking him to make time for us is pretty much yuckie cuz I have no doubts that even when he’s on leave, his phone would be ringing non-stop. Hell, I somewhat booked his time last week almost a month in advance and yet his phone rang as early as at 8am in the morning.
Jesus! If I’m his pimp and if I could sell his time…with calls of demand like that I’d probably be goddamn rich. Lol. Now that’s a thought, isn’t it? Kinda tempting. Hmmmm…
Anyway, work and family life should be balanced. That is what I think, considering work is endless and will always be there and will not be done, but if my husband can’t balance it on his side, then I will have to balance things from my side and just ask him for money since he worked to find money for us to live happily and comfortably in the first place anyway. Lol.
Anyway, I’ve smarten up a little bit and enrolled my son into holiday camp this time around so that I have an excuse to still go out and the boy won’t feel so jaded. Frankly speaking, I’m a little bit guilt ridden whenever my kid takes travel brochures to look at and brings them to sleep with him. It made me wish that I could bring him to travel to those places.
Hmm…perhaps I should during the next school holiday. My girlfriends are planning a trip to Cherating for the next school holiday and I’m seriously giving it a thought, since there is space for me to tag along.
Perhaps I should save up from now on and ask my husband to just top up some cash for us for the trip. That way, he won’t have to take leave from work, and me and the kid can still have fun. That way nobody will be upset. His boss will be happy that he duzzin take leave, his friends and clients can call him on weekends all they like, and me and the boy can have a blast.
Win win situation, in my opinion. I suppose all I have to do stop waiting for him and expecting him to ditch work to bring us for vacation and start to work on my confidence in bringing the boy on my own.
Cleffairy: Cherating…okay. Stop dreaming and start working my butt off!

Summer Day Camp
Time really flies. It’s gonna be summer soon. Are you excited about it? Well, I can’t honestly say I’m pretty excited about it as it’s almost ‘summer’ whole year through in my country, but the hype is certainly getting to me this year as I’ve planned to participate in Camp NaNo. Camp NaNo have been around for quite a few summers now and it’s a time where writers from all around the world gathers together and will be churning words out of their brains throughout summer to produce a novel or two while roasting marshmallows or a glazed chicken wings or two over a campfire.
Most who will be participating in this literary abandon is adults, and it would be a sad thing if kids missed out on the opportunity to grow creatively and academically too this summer.
If you’re in Montreal and is looking forward for some quiet time alone while you work on that novel you’ve been longing to write, I think it would do justice if you send you kids to a summer camp.
Montreal Day Camp would be a perfect place for you to send your kids to this summer as the Montreal tutors are professionally trained in the art of nurturing children in both academic and non-academic fields.
Located in the heart of Montreal, the Summer camps in Montreal provides plenty of interesting daily activities like sports, arts, academics and healthy living to keep your kids occupied throughout summer. Your children will definitely benefit from the camp if you’re to send them there. Just think about it. Let them have their fun while you have some quiet, ME time of your own.
The Summer Camps in Montreal accepted children who are 5 to 14 years old, and it is co-ed. Look them up today for more information should you want to send your kids to the summer camp in question.
