Traitor’s Blade by Sebastien De Castell | book review
What happens when everything you want is taken away? And what do you do when it happens again? Falcio and his two companions were once the revered magisters who upheld the king’s justice. Now they search the land on the king’s dying order.
Hated by the people they are sworn to protect, carrying the pain of betrayal, guilt and grief, the greatcoats persevere.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves adventure and adversity.

New Release: The Madeline Journeys
Listen to the first chapter of Off Track
Off Track
Madeline’s always had a purpose. Lately, it’s been to make partner at her high-powered law firm, but a single misstep shunts her and her assistant sideways into the magical world of Cartref and into a quest to save the Summer Lands from a blood feud.
The prophecy that will save them rests on her decisions, but can Madeline accept her new purpose in a place so far beyond everything she’s ever known?
The New Normal
Madeline left her old life behind when she chose to stay in the magical world of Cartref, but it seems that life hasn’t quite let her go.
By chance, her old nemesis has been summoned from Earth, and she’s destined to be a sacrifice in a brutal blood ritual. Lee Marshall will die unless someone can rescue her – but what will happen if Madeline has to take her place?
A Twist Of Power
Madeline’s home is threatened by a magical assault from the faraway City, intent on destroying the heir to the Summer Lands. There she must go, if she is to finally put the past to rest.
Help is easily offered by newfound friends – Regis, a human mage, and Springheart, an elf wanderer. But who can Madeline really trust in a City where trust is bought and sold, and even her magic begins to fail her?

The Emperor’s Edge by Lindsay Buroker | book review
It’s a hard job, enforcer, hard for everyone, especially hard for a woman. Amaranthe is determined to become a great enforcer. The summons by the Imperial Regent is a good sign. If she was noticed by the throne, she might actually get a promotion.
Meeting the emperor again was a bonus. He was different from his ancestors, they were warriors bent on subjugating their enemies. He wanted peace.
Uncovering the conspiracy and saving the emperor wasn’t on her plan. But sometimes a plan is only the starting point.
I recommend this book to anyone who likes a good adventure that involves intricate plots, family secrets, and magic.

Remix by Lexi Revellian | Book Review
Lexi Revellian writes romances with a bit of a twist. This one was fun to read and I was able to figure out the villain fairly early on, but I kept getting fooled by Lexi’s clues and misdirections.
Finding a strange man on her patio is the beginning of an adventure for Caz. Helping him clean up his past is an adventure that she wasn’t expecting. Falling in love with someone who is so broken, didn’t figure in her plans.
I recommend this to anyone who likes a little quirkiness and darkness to their romance.

The Woods by Harlan Coben | Book Review
I usually listen to audio books in the car or while I’m going for a walk. This one grabbed me for the last 2 hours of the recording. I sat and listened to the ending without break because I had to know the answer.
Missing people from his past, a body in the woods —maybe.
Paul Copeland has to find the answers to the mystery regardless of the repercussions to his career, his family, or his life.
I recommend this to anyone who likes a noir mystery.

In Deep Voodoo by Stephanie Bond | Book Review
This was a great story from beginning to end. It was less funny than I expected but still a great light read – if murder is your definition of a light read.
Running a health food store doesn’t mean you are immune to the effects of magic. Even not believing in it doesn’t help, when the voodoo doll she got for a gag gift, ends up killing her ex.
An interesting tale of two people who couldn’t be more opposite, getting together to make the unreal into something they can understand.

Wild Ride by Jennier Crusie and Bob Mayer | Book Review
I thoroughly enjoyed the story. It wasn’t hard to figure out what was going to happen, but then I don’t think that was the point. The romance was a little thin – but I found that refreshingly realistic because the world doesn’t always revolve around the desire and emotional turmoil of the two leads.
The setting is an amusement park. The problem is demons. Saving the world from destruction, and saving the park from oblivion is a full day’s work for Mary Alice, who doesn’t believe in the supernatural…. until it makes her believe.

Two Graves by D.A. Graystone | Book Reveiw
I enjoyed the story. A unique twist on the serial killer along with some great characters that I would love to read about again.
Bullied and desperate to get some peace, Preston fights back. The problem? He’s not used to fighting and instead of hurting someone he kills them. Then he realizes that he loves the feeling of power that comes with taking a life, a feeling he’s never experienced before. The story starts from there and then becomes a thrilling race to find a serial killer before he escalates.
Only one little itch kept me from giving this 5 stars. It seems that Kesle is a city where people don’t use contractions, which meant the dialogue comes across as stilted when people do not use contractions in their speech.
