10 Fighter-Jets That Look Incredible Wearing Retro Paint Jobs

The shark face paint job has emerged as one of the most iconic retro designs in aviation history. Originating with the First American Volunteer Group, famously known as the Flying Tigers, during World War II, this striking image has endured over time.
The Flying Tigers were a skilled fighter group dispatched to help the Chinese combat the Japanese under U.S. forces operating with Chinese authority. While they weren’t the first to adopt the shark face, they played a pivotal role in popularizing it during the war.
Operating the P-40 Warhawk, the Flying Tigers achieved an impressive 20 to one kill ratio, downing 297 enemy aircraft. Their mission involved slowing down the Japanese forces’ advance into Chinese territory. The P-40, despite its limited maneuverability compared to Japanese fighters, excelled in diving and high speeds, giving the Tigers a strategic advantage.
Inspired by the U.K. Royal Air Force’s use of the shark face design, the predominantly U.S. Navy, Army, and Marine pilots of the Flying Tigers incorporated the intimidating shark face paint on their P-40s. As their reputation grew, so did the popularity of the toothy shark design, boosting morale among friendly forces and instilling fear in enemy pilots.
Even today, the shark face paint job remains a timeless symbol of aviation and fighter jet history, and it continues to adorn aircraft worldwide, paying homage to the Flying Tigers and their remarkable impact during World War II.
Francis Ford Coppola Calls ‘Barbie’ and ‘Oppenheimer’ Success a “Victory for Cinema”

Francis Ford Coppola is praising Barbenheimer following the two films’ record-breaking debut weekend.
While answering fans’ questions on his Instagram Stories Friday, the filmmaker was asked if he had watched Greta Gerwig’s Barbie and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer yet.
“I have yet to see them, but the fact that people are filling big theaters to see them and that they are neither sequels nor prequels, no number attached to them, meaning they are true one-offs, is a victory for cinema,” Coppola responded.
Related StoriesBarbie and Oppenheimer went above and beyond all expectations for its opening weekend from July 21-23. Gerwig’s doll movie not only had one of the top openings since the pandemic but it also broke the record for the biggest opening for a female director. As for Nolan’s film, Oppenheimer ranked as the third-biggest opening ever for a biographical film in North America.
Coppola has previously been outspoken about his dislike for sequels, prequels and the modern movie industry in general. Although he was the mastermind behind The Godfather trilogy, the director-producer isn’t a big fan of Marvel and its film franchises.
“There used to be studio films,” he said in a 2022 interview with GQ magazine. “Now there are Marvel pictures. And what is a Marvel picture? A Marvel picture is one prototype movie that is made over and over and over and over and over again to look different.”
The Oscar-winning director, who has been in the industry for more than five decades, has seen the way the medium has transformed over the years. When another fan asked on Instagram where he thinks cinema will be in the next 10 years, Coppola had nothing but high hopes.
“My hunch is that we’re on the verge of a golden age,” he said. “Wonderful and illuminating cinema seen in large theaters.”
Barbie and Oppenheimer are currently playing in theaters.
‘Saw X’ Trailer: Tobin Bell’s Jigsaw Seeks Twisted Justice in New Deadly Game

Tobin Bell’s Jigsaw is back with an all-new twisted game filled with deadly puzzles and traps in Saw X.
The film’s new trailer, released Saturday, sees Jigsaw killer John Kramer travel to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his terminal cancer. But he quickly learns that the entire operation is a scam. “Of all the men to cheat, you picked John Kramer?” a voice can be heard saying at the beginning of the video.
Now, as the infamous serial killer seeks twisted justice for those who wronged him, he returns to work. Bell’s character says in the footage, “I still have a lot of work that needs to be done.”
Related StoriesWith a new game in play, full of Jigsaw’s signature devious and deranged traps, the tables are now turned on the con artists. “It’s time to play a game,” the serial killer says. “You all pretended to cure me. But what I have planned for each of you is very real.”
The film from Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures is set between the events of Saw I and Saw II. Kevin Greutert, who directed Saw VI and Saw 3D, returned to helm the tenth installment of the Saw franchise.
Bell also reprised his character for the upcoming movie after he originated the role in 2004’s Saw but died in Saw III. Synnøve Macody Lund, Steven Brand, Michael Beach, Renata Vaca, Paulette Hernandez and Octavio Hinojosa star in the latest film as well.
Saw X is set to hit theaters on Sept. 29. Watch the latest trailer below.

Couple breaks Guinness World Record for longest habanero pepper kiss
This couple isn’t afraid of getting hot and heavy.
Mike and Jamie Jack, from Ontario, Canada, spiced up their relationship by breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest habanero pepper kiss.
On 25 February, the husband-and-wife team each ate a habanero pepper before locking lips — reveling in the heat of the moment for 15 minutes, 6.5 seconds.
“The best part was that we got to kiss each other for 15 minutes,” Mike Jack told Guinness World Records.
Mike Jack already had several pepper-eating records under his belt, including for devouring Carolina Reapers and Bhut Jolokia.
Jamie Jack, meanwhile, had to build up a tolerance by eating a habanero every day for about a month before they attempted the hottest kiss of their life.
“We had 30 seconds to each eat a habanero and then we put our lips together for as long as we wanted,” Mike Jack told Guinness.

Habaneros boast a scorching 100,000 to 350,000 Scoville heat units, compared to jalapeños’ paltry 2,500 to 8,000 Scoville heat units, according to PepperScale.com.
The couple, however, is already looking to take their relationship to the next level, and have applied to attempt the record for the longest Bhut Jolokia chili pepper kiss, which can pack over 1,000,000 Scoville heat units.
Can you find the 3 pandas without sunglasses?
A graphic artist is testing everyone’s attention to detail with another digital seek-and-find brain teaser — and this time the focus is on pandas.
Gergely Dudás, from Budapest, Hungary shared the new visual puzzle with Fox News Digital.
The puzzle is filled with fluffy black-and-white pandas wearing sunglasses, but three of them are depicted without them — can you identify them all?
The sunglasses come in many different shapes, but closely resemble the round eyes of the monochromatic panda bears.
The catch light, or added highlight on the sunglasses, closely resembles the pupils of the pandas that are not wearing the glasses — can tell which is which?
Some of the pandas have been accessorized with hats and neckties — two can even be seen sipping their favorite beverages.
Dudás posted his panda-inspired seek-and-find on social media on July 24.
On Facebook, the artist’s hidden banana puzzle has generated over 1,000 reactions, 102 comments and 194 shares at the time of the publication — this puzzle has received 1,173 likes on Instagram.
Users have hopped on the media platform to share their thoughts on the difficulty of the panda puzzle.

Some claim it was easy while others found the puzzle “tricky.”
“Found the pandas. It took a beary long time. Good one,” one user wrote.
“Already knew it would be an uphill challenge once I read the ‘question.’ After staring for a while, I suddenly found two in quick succession,” wrote one Facebook commenter.
“The third took a while more, but I’m glad I managed it.”
Said another, “Found them! But my eyes! My eyes!”
Yet another user wrote, “That was easier than the last one for sure!! 3 in about a min or less and did not have to zoom in.”
The comic author and artist has published numerous illustration books, including “Bear’s Springtime Book of Hidden Things” and “Bear’s Merry Book of Hidden Things: Christmas Seek-and-Find: A Christmas Holiday Book for Kids.”
Dudás’ seek-and-find artwork and brain teasers have also been featured on coffee mugs, miniature prints and other pieces of merchandise.
He has over 167,000 dedicated followers on Facebook, over 48,900 followers on Instagram, more than 8,300 followers on Twitter and hundreds of followers on Pinterest.

Toddler reunites with his grandpa at airport in emotional video: ‘I’m coming Papa!’
A Louisiana toddler who had just started to speak captured the hearts of social media as he reunited with his grandpa who had returned from an overseas work trip on Monday.
The boy, whose name is Bennett, saw his grandfather emerge from the terminal at the Lafayette Regional Airport in Louisiana and waddled towards him with open arms and ready for a hug.
“I’m coming Papa!” the youngster shouted.
Grandfather Terrell Lemoine had spent the past two months in Dubai as he worked for an oil company, his wife Sandra Merry Lemoine, told McClatchy News, according to the Miami Herald.
Other air travelers stopped as the boy darts toward his papa — followed by an array of “awes” being let out as the two reconnect.
The TikTok of the emotional reunion has gained more than 2.5 million views as of Sunday morning.
“We have seven grandkids, and everyone loves their papa,” Lemoine told the outlet. “Bennett might just love him a little more.”
She shared that Bennett had only started speaking about three months ago — right before Terrell Lemoine embarked on his long work assignment.
Terrell Lemoine has traveled for work frequently and usually arrives back from his work trips later in the night, but this time landed at the airport around 7 p.m.
It was early enough that she could pick up Bennett — who lives about an hour away — to bring with her to the airport to surprise her husband.

“It’s a short video that everyone seems to love, but for us it’s bigger than that,” Sandra Lemoine shared. “Him saying, ‘I’m coming papa,’ is really special for us.”
The grandmother shared that the reuniting of generations brought a tear to the eye of all who were at the terminal.
The moment didn’t just thug on the heartstrings of those at the airport but of many across TikTok who were moved by Bennett’s love toward his grandfather.
“I watched it like 10 times you can hear the love,” one user commented, with Lemoine replying “I know my husband, which is papa, has watched it 50 times.”
“Ok, so that’s just the cutest damn thing I’ve seen all day,” another wrote.
“Listening to this and it taking me back 13 years with my son. He just turned 16,” a woman shared in the comments.
Jason Aldean’s Massachusetts concert temporarily evacuated due to severe weather
Jason Aldean’s concert in Mansfield, Massachusetts got off to a rocky start after the venue was temporarily evacuated due to severe weather.
The 46-year-old country star, who was set to take the stage at the Xfinity Center at 7:30pm ET, shared a screenshot of the evacuation announcement to his Instagram Story shortly after 8pm.
“Severe Weather Alert. We are evacuating the venue. Calmly proceed to the nearest exit and seek shelter in your vehicles. Please stay tuned to the venue social networks for updates,” the announcement read.

The Xfinity Center also posted the announcement on its social media accounts. A tweet from the venue noted that the evacuation was “due to severe weather & approaching lightning.”
JASON ALDEAN RECOVERING AFTER ABRUPT CONCERT EXIT DUE TO HEAT EXHAUSTION: ‘IT WAS PRETTY INTENSE’
The account later provided an update in a tweet that read: “If you are still in the venue, please seek shelter. Do not attempt to evacuate. We are still under a shelter in place with the hope to continue the show once it is safe.” In another update, the Xfinity Center’s Twitter account told concert-goers that a decision had yet to be made if it was safe to proceed with the show.
Around 9:30PM, Aldean revealed that the show would resume as he shared another announcement from the venue.
“GOOD NEWS! Tonight’s Jason Aldean concert will continue! Doors are open now. Please make your way to the gates and have your tickets open on your phone and ready for scanning to help ease entry back into the venue. Jason Aldean will be on stage at 10:00PM.”

The evacuation comes a little over a week after the “You Make It Easy” hitmaker’s concert at the Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio on July 21 was postponed until Sept.17 due to a severe storm that tore through Northeast Ohio, causing heavy rains and flooding.
Aldean’s concert on July 17 in Hartford, Connecticut was abruptly cut short after the singer suffered heat exhaustion and ran off-stage mid-song. In a video that he later shared to social media, he informed his fans that he was “doing fine” and had received IV fluids. The following day, the concert was rescheduled for July 30 and the Georgia native performed that night in Saratoga Springs, New York as scheduled.
The five-time Grammy Award nominee is currently on his 31-date “Desperado Highway Tour,” which kicked off July 14 in Bethel Woods, NY. Aldean’s concert woes come after the music video release of his song “Try That In A Small Town” sparked backlash.
In the music video, Aldean touts how small towns wouldn’t put up with the kind of riots and lawlessness many cities across the country faced during the summer of 2020.
Last week, Aldean denied that “Try That In A Small Town” has racial undertones after critics voiced disdain for the new music video.

“In the past 24 hours I have been accused of releasing a pro-lynching song (a song that has been out since May) and was subject to the comparison that I (direct quote) was not too pleased with the nationwide BLM protests,” Aldean shared with his nearly 8 million fans across social media.
“These references are not only meritless, but dangerous.”

Country Music Television (CMT) pulled the video from rotation three days after initially airing the video, representatives confirmed with Fox News Digital. CMT did not provide more information about why the video was removed from the air.

Breaking Down All The Apple Watch Series 9 Rumors So Far

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman spilled details on what to expect from Apple’s upcoming smartwatch. On his Discord (via Digital Trends), the S9 chip will be a new design instead of rebranded one from previous models. This means it will be more responsive than previous models, making the Series 9 worth an upgrade based on that alone. This isn’t confirmed yet, but it would be a big selling point if true.
As for the actual looks, the Apple Watch has largely looked the same since its inception, and that remains unlikely to change as we go into the Series 9 edition. We might get a newer screen, but the overall design isn’t predicted to change much. Rumors suggest the Apple Watch Ultra Series 2 will sport a Micro LED display, but that doesn’t mean it’ll trickle down to the base model.
Apple introduced watchOS 10 in June, which will serve as the default OS for the upcoming Apple Watches. That said, you can install the new OS on models dating back to the Series 4, so it’s not the biggest selling point. However, you’ll get quality-of-life upgrades if you’re a hiker, biker, or just somebody who likes their watch to have a fancy new face.
If Apple keeps its current release cadence, we shall find out what the future holds for the Apple Watch Series 9 sooner rather than later. Whether it’s worth an upgrade remains to be seen, but some of the rumored changes are promising.
WhatsApp Explained: A Basic Guide To This Giant Messaging App

WhatsApp has a fascinating history that dates back to its founding in 2009 by Jan Koum and Brian Acton. Initially, WhatsApp was envisioned as a simple messaging platform, allowing users to send text messages over the internet. It quickly gained popularity due to its user-friendly interface and cost-effectiveness, enabling users to bypass traditional SMS charges.
In its early years, WhatsApp saw significant growth in its user base, and by 2013, it had amassed over 200 million active users worldwide. This remarkable success attracted the attention of venture capital firm Sequoia Capital, which invested $50 million in the company to further its expansion.
One of WhatsApp’s most critical turning points occurred in 2014 when social media giant Facebook (now known as Meta) acquired the messaging app for a staggering $19 billion. This acquisition brought immense resources and expertise into WhatsApp’s fold, fueling its growth and global outreach. However, the acquisition also sparked concerns over data privacy and potential changes to the app’s principles.
Despite its success, WhatsApp faced its fair share of challenges. It encountered controversies over data sharing with Facebook, raising concerns about user privacy and data security. Additionally, the app struggled with misinformation and extremist activities being propagated through its platform. Despite these challenges, WhatsApp continued to thrive, and in 2023, it boasts an impressive user base of over 2.5 billion people worldwide, cementing its position as the most popular messaging app globally.

The Best Movies And TV Shows Leaving Netflix In August 2023

Barry Jenkins’ film adaptation of James Baldwin’s 1974 novel “If Beale Street Could Talk” is as lovely and gentle as it is heartbreaking and captivating. The story hops around in time to explore the romance between Clementine “Tish” Rivers (KiKi Layne) and her wrongly-incarcerated lover Alonzo “Fonny” Hunt (Stephan James), shedding light on the systemic forces that lead to Black men like Fonny being unjustly arrested for crimes they didn’t commit and the actual victims of those crimes being denied the justice they’re owed. Regina King rightly took home an Oscar for her turn as Tish’s devoted mother Sharon, but the entire cast is excellent, including Colman Domingo and Brian Tyree Henry in a haunting single-scene appearance. However, Jenkins isn’t interested in reducing the film’s characters to their trauma and suffering. He wants you to come to know and love them as much as he does, filming their faces in glowing, adoring close-ups and focusing on the ways they manage to live their lives to the fullest in spite of the cruelty they’re subjected to.
