Tools to Leverage on Amazon

Tools to Leverage on Amazon.com VERSION 2  Created on: Aug 28, 2009 4:26 PM by CreateSpaceResources - Last Modified:  Sep 10, 2014 12:36 PM by CreateSpaceLee  How to Leverage Tools on Amazon.com to Increase Your Sales Opportunities
Amazon.com, the world's leading online retailer, enables authors, filmmakers, and musicians to connect directly with their audience through a number of innovative features which are designed to help customers find what they are looking for. Utilize these features to encourage customers to land on your product's detail page. Below are some of the features that may lead to greater visibility on Amazon.com. Get online and explore!
Customer Reviews Located below the editorial reviews on your product's detail page, customer reviews are opinions of other consumers who purchased your title and want to tell other shoppers what they thought.
How can this help you sell more?
Encourage anyone who tells you how much he or she enjoyed your product to write a review on Amazon.com. As your positive reviews grow, so may your sales. Don't be discouraged by the occasional less-than-glowing customer review. Having a neutral or negative review actually increases the credibility of the ratings overall, because you can't please all the people all the time (and if it looks like you are, people might be suspicious).
Rankings Your product's sales ranking on Amazon.com can be a great selling tool to include in promotional materials. How do the rankings work? The calculation is based on Amazon.com sales and is updated each hour to reflect recent and historical sales of every item sold on the site. Sales of your title will help boost your Amazon.com sales ranking and will significantly increase your title's search relevance on Amazon.com.
Listmania!® Lists Listmania! Lists are a fun way for Amazon.com shoppers to help one another find useful products--or in this case, to help customers find products they may not have otherwise come across. The lists appear when they pertain to the keyword that was searched or contain the product currently in view.
Creating a Listmania! List featuring your title, and other similar titles and products--and asking your friends, family, and fans to do the same--is a great way to lead readers straight to your title!
Visit Amazon.com to learn more about creating Listmania! Lists.
So You'd Like to . . . Guides So You'd Like to . . . Guides are similar to Listmania! Lists, and are a way for you to help other customers find all the items and information they might need for something they are interested in. The guides provide a great opportunity to share your advice, experiences, and product recommendations with others, and just like Listmania! Lists, you (and your friends, fans, and family) may want to create a So You'd Like to . . . Guide that features your title. It will increase the likelihood that people will come across your product while browsing on Amazon.com.
Learn how to create your own So You'd Like To ... Guide.
Search Inside the Book® For authors, Amazon's Search Inside the Book program allows customers to see the interior pages of a book.
How does it work? When customers search for books, Amazon.com uses the actual words from inside participating books--not just the author, title, and keywords supplied by the publisher--to return the best possible selection of books. For matches inside the book, they also display a short excerpt and links to the page where the query matched. From any book detail page, customers have the opportunity to sample the book using the Search Inside! reader. This includes previewing sample pages, viewing a random page, or searching for a specific reference or character.
Titles submitted to the Search Inside the Book program are automatically eligible for personalization and merchandising features throughout Amazon.com, such as recommendations. With this helpful search feature, customers can discover books that may never have surfaced in previous search results.
All CreateSpace titles are submitted for the Search Inside the Book program, free of charge.
Take advantage of the many tools Amazon.com offers and your title may become the next great thing customers didn't even know they were looking for!
