YA Indie Carnival - Fiction Fireworks

This week's YA Indie Carnival topic is Fiction Fireworks.  There were so many options when I scanned Warriors, Guardians, Enemies, and Dark Angels that I had a difficult time deciding which excerpt to share.  In the end, I've elected to post a scene from Enemies, the third book in the series which will be released within the next month.
This particular excerpt is one between Brody and Allie from their highly anticipated we...

Dark Angels of the Cross (The Warrior Series, #4)

I have the best book cover designer ever.  All I have to do is tell Claudia Lucia McKinney my vision, and as if by magic, she has examples to me.  Then, she eagerly awaits my suggestions.  As soon as I make them, she updates the design and sends the final copy to me.  She makes a very, very difficult job look like child's play when I know it's not.  She is AMAZING!

I'm wrapping up Enemies of the Cross (The Warrior Series, #3) which meant it was time to look forward to...

Tiger's Voyage (The Tiger Saga #3) by Colleen Houck

Tiger's Voyage (The Tiger Saga #3) by Colleen Houck
★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (5 Stars)

Tiger's Voyage (The Tiger Saga #3) is another wonderful book within one of my favorite series to date.   Colleen Houck is a phenomenal author who has done a great job writing a story filled with heart-squeezing romance, unbelievably believable fantasy worlds, and spine-tingling adventures.  Honestly, I can't say enough positive things about this timeless saga.

The characters.  From...

YA Indie Carnival - Round Robin of Original Stories

Fans are going to have a great time with this week's YA Indie Carnival topic.  Several of the authors pulled the first paragraph from one of their books or works in progress and passed it along to the other authors for them to write the next 1-3 paragraphs.  It's amazing how different a story can become with the input...talent...vision of others.  I have to admit I really enjoyed this exercise and hope everyone appreciates our efforts.
For my submission, I used the fir...

Tiger's Quest (The Tiger Saga #2) by Colleen Houck

Tiger's Quest (The Tiger Saga #2) by Colleen Houck
★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (5 Stars)

Tiger's Quest (The Tiger Saga #2) had so many parts to it that I literally felt as if I'd read three seperate books once it was over...all equally amazing.  I said with Tiger's Curse (The Tiger Saga #1) that Colleen Houck had instantaneeously morphed into one of my favorite authors.  This book solidified my devotion to her and her phenomenal story-telling ability.  Even my eight-year-old son...

YA Indie Carnival - Listopia Demystified

Today, the YA Indie Carnival sponsors are talking all about Listopia and sharing the votes that means the most to them while explaining their rationale.
Books from The Warrior Series are on hundreds of Listopia lists.  From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate each and every addition.  It means so much to have anything I've written be added to lists that includes some of my all time favorite books.  It means even more because - with the exception of a few additions - these...

Tiger's Curse (The Tiger Saga #1) by Colleen Houck

Tiger's Curse (The Tiger Saga #1) by Colleen Houck
★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (5 Stars)

This is an AMAZING... PHENOMENAL... WONDERFUL series, and it has instantly shot to the top of my personal all-time favorite series list. I should mention that I have three series tied for the top spot honors, meaning I could never choose between them. All are equally great in their own way.

In awe of this story, I could go on for pages and still not do justice to Colleen Houck's brilliance as it relates to this series. Ins...

Passion (Fallen #3) by Lauren Kate

Passion (Fallen #3) by Lauren Kate
★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (5 Stars)

I love where Passion (Fallen #3) begins.  Torment (Fallen #2) left me hanging, so I was beyond anxious to see where this book - the story - took us.  I was not disappointed.

If you are a fan of period pieces, you will adore Passion (Fallen #3).  We are taken through past life after past life where Luce and Daniel meet, fall in love, and separate because of the curse plaguing them and their relationship....

Torment (Fallen #2) by Lauren Kate

Torment (Fallen #2) by Lauren Kate
★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (5 Stars)

Torment (Fallen #2) is a strong follow-up to Fallen (Fallen #1).  In it, we are reunited with our favorite characters (Luce, Daniel, and Cameron) and are introduced to several new ones (Miles and Shelby), who are memorable enough for us to long to see - much - more of them in future books.

Torment (Fallen #2)'s greatness lies in the way the readers are gradually and gently introduced to Luce's abilities, her new...
